I joined because their prices were so incredibly cheap. If I remember, it was $24 a month. All of the treadmills have personal TV screens so you can watch a show to pass the time. It was never busy during the times I chose to work out, so I always had a good pick of machines. The bathrooms and locker areas were always cleaned and well-stocked. I had to drop my membership due to personal reasons, but if I were to ever join a gym again, ROC Fitness would be my first choice!

I've decided from past experiences, I wanted one where I could easily freeze my membership due to work travel. I wanted a gym in my area, that was less than 10 minutes away....well, I found it. I received in the mail, a flyer saying the membership fee of $29 was waived in January for Roc fitness. I chose today to go and check it out. It's a small gym, with a small equipped weight room. The weight room has set of circuit machines for upper and lower body. There's cardio machines upstairs. There's also a 14 lap walking track. They have shower rooms with lockers. Overall, it's a pretty nice place. Great price, too: $22 a month. There's a $5 locker fee if you decided to get a permanent locker, and they charge a one time fee for the usb key to program a workout. I like that idea, and am going to do that. The classes change per season. I am interested in the adagio class, and the zumba classes. The staff were very helpful, and they arrange for an orientation, after you join. There's a cafe with, from what I've heard, the best French fries in Raytown. I suppose the gym is supposed to counter act the calories in the French fries? . Edit: This place grows on you. The more I am there, the more I like it.

They take temperatures and insure you as well as everyone else wears masks - I've heard them remind people to put masks over mouth and nose. Negatives - adult staff is rude and uninterested in any sort of customer service. All remaining staff seem to be teenage kids with no form of managed structure, proper training and interest in working at all. You hear "No" from the management staff and "I don't know" from all the rest - if you can break into their conversation among themselves. Keep a close eye on any valuables. There are cameras, but no one is ever looking at them. Many areas are unsupervised. Note to management: every person there needs customer service training and all of your employees need to learn what is offered at your facility or simply remove them from the front desk. You don't need five of them at the front desk anyway.

It allows me to, well, actually go to the gym where my previous spot was a trek to get to. There are loads of various cardio machines, and the majority have these "course" settings that let you run or ride through cool settings like Colorado, New Zealand, France, etc. In the dead of winter in KC, it's a welcome relief instead of slogging through cardio. The weights area and machines have pretty much what you need, although another couple free weight squat racks are needed. The weights are pretty old school but not too shabby. Parking (with a purchased pass) is pretty good seeing as how this is right in the middle of campus. It's occasionally a bit of a hike when the weather is 10 degrees, but it toughens me up... at least that's what I'm telling myself! Friendly staff and convenient lockers right near the workout area too. All in all, I'm a fan.

The Kings course looked fun and had a lot of obstacles that the kids loved. However, we had to go around a lot of torn up carpet and put the tees back together. There was someone coming behind us to blow the leaves off the course, so that was a good sign. It wasn't a bad price and it's more nostalgic for me, so I'm sure we will be back. We WERE able to play, and the staff was aware enough of the issues with the course that they didn't argue about giving the new balls to us and gave us the earned free game coupon that the machine didn't spit out when it should have, so that is why I left it at 2. See full review below. We used to come here all the time when I was a kid. They have a game room inside and 4 mini-golf courses outside. I recently went here on a girl's day outing with some friends and, while we had fun, the place is really run down. Many of the holes are damaged. Examples: the "starting pad" on several was completely detached, water not on in the fountains, outdoor carpeting making up the "green" was wrinkled or sliced, various themed elements on the holes were rusty, many elements in the holes were blocked forcing us to go all the way back to the front desk inside the building and ask for new balls, the hole in one machine at the end of the course (where you hit the ball once and if it goes in the hole the machine gives you a ticket for a free game) didn't work, etc. Inside, the game roomed smelled of marijuana and several machines (including the one that turns your cash into coins) were not working. I was very disappointed with the condition of the place, both inside and out.
