We had a great time coming here with a group for a birthday! The staff was amazing at giving us tips and making us feel at ease/improve our game. They had plenty of games to choose from, and were patient with us as a bigger group--even letting us use a couple vacant bays near us. Great place and not too crowded even on the weekends!

Super fun place with helpful coaches! I may need privates lessons though, lol! We will definitely go back and bring friends!

Such a fun team building activity. Even offer trophies for the winners. Staff was beyond amazing. Personalized experience made us feel like we owned the place.

Great time! The employees are great here! We went for a company team building event and we had a blast. You can bring your own food and booze which is great and they have more than just ace throwing they also had yard games which was cool and other types of throwing activities aside from just browsing axes. The employees where fun too they played tunes, walked around and interacted which was cool. Overall great place and for sure a great time. I would recommend!

I came here with a small group on a Saturday. we had reservations and were able to get on a lane quickly. the difference at this location vs blade and timber is that you get a personal assistant for the entirety of the event. this is nice because he keeps score for you and he gives you throwing tips. the entire experience was a pleasure.

Had so much fun at Bury the Hatchet KC!! We came here with a group of our best friends on a Friday night. Mitchell and Jeremy took great care of us. I was absolutely TERRIBLE at throwing the axe, but I had an absolute blast !! If you're considering coming here to throw some axes and have some fun don't think about it just come ! You won't be disappointed.

The staff was super welcoming. Madison greeted us and got us settled in with axe master Alec who was fantastic! Alec explained the rules and techniques perfectly and had us practice before starting the game until we felt comfortable. He stayed with us throughout our session and answered all questions as we went along. We had a blast and would definitely recommend this activity to anyone looking to do something fun in Kansas City.

Bury the hatchet kc is amazing!! Super friendly phone service before we arrived I think Madison on the phone was super informative, patient, and happy to help. When we arrived everything was clean and welcoming. Ben was our instructor for the night. He was celebrating with those who got the hang of throwing quickly as well as being encouraging and supportive to those who had trouble finding their throw. He refereed our games keeping score and organization. He was exciting and engaging while hosting the games. Keeping everyone involved super excited to throw. I supervise at a Los Angeles restaurant, so we have to deal with some pretty entitled guests, so I have a decent eye for a good employee. The company should be happy to have an employee of such a caliber as Ben. You're going places Ben have a good one!

My kids wanted to try this and I thought fine fine whatever I'll do this for the kids, but I actually had a lot of fun also!! They did a great job of providing someone (Mitchell) to teach us proper technique and help us correct problems with our throwing. He also taught us how to throw one handed and even let us practice on an open lane. We really had a great time doing something we had never done before. I would come back again soon to do this again! It was a great way to get my teenage boy to stop gaming and participate in a family event! We've also mentioned it to our friends and we are going to try to set up an adult night out! What a bizarre, but great idea that I never thought would be so much fun!

The game rooms are enjoyable. I appreciated the friendly and attentive staff, which made our experience top-notch. We would definitely return. However, I have a few suggestions for improvement: 1. The staff should inform players that even if a room is occupied, they can scan their wristband and select their game to be placed in line. This would eliminate the next players eagerly waiting for the current players to finish their game to only have to keep waiting because they are hitting the green Replay button inside the room. 2. It would be helpful to clearly state that the doors open only when pulled closed and then pushed. Otherwise a push door indicates that we should push it. 3. If an adult must be present at the facility throughout the entire gaming experience for children aged 6 to 13, it would be beneficial to monitor this requirement. 4. My toddlers cried and panicked bc they and myself thought we were just about to get mowed down. It would have been less scary for them if at least this weirdo didn't roll down his window and yell at us pedestrians which consisted of a mother, a baby on a baby stroller and two tiny toddlers. They cried and were once an again scared bc this deranged individual took time to act a fool after the fact. Real shame. For the event, food was catered in with a nacho bar from Jose Pepper's, and we were given a complimentary cocktail along with the chance to play a game of fowling. Fowling is basically bowling with a football, but instead of a regular football, we used more of a Nerf-style, squeezy football. It sounds simple until you actually try it. Even when your aim feels spot on, the ball can bounce, shift, and completely miss the target. It was a lot of fun and honestly a better workout than I expected. I was surprised my arm was not sore afterward because there is definitely some movement involved. The space is great for groups, parties, team building, and people who enjoy active social games. The staff and setup made the event feel easy and welcoming, and I had a wonderful time. That said, I'll be honest: this is not really my personal bag. I could definitely see myself coming back for a kid, pre-teen, or teenager's birthday party, or maybe enjoying it more if there were an outdoor option where I could get a little sunshine while playing. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I'm glad I went. I had fun, I tried something new, and now I can officially say I've been fowling. Would I need to do it again in life? Honestly, probably not. But would I recommend it for the right group or occasion? Absolutely.

At BRKTHROUGH, you compete in challenge rooms (there are 40 of them, although a couple were unavailable during our visit) - they last a minute or longer, and are categorized as Physical (requiring speed, agility, coordination, etc), Mental (brainpower, trivia, memory, and puzzle-solving), or Skill (precision, dexterity, patience). The descriptors above came from the BRKTHROUGH website, but I can confirm that they are descriptive of the challenges. The room type/difficulty is shown on a triangle, so they are often a combination of two items (for example, mostly physical with some skill-based components). Every room is scored based on your completion (or lack, thereof) out of 100 points. You can redo rooms as often as you like, keeping the highest score. Your team has an RFID wristband to enter the rooms. Your goal is to earn as many points as you can during the time period you paid for (we did 2 hours). Not only do you try to get your best score, there is a leaderboard to show how you are doing against the other teams in the building. You can earn a prize if you obtain a certain minimum score, or win against the other groups. Other than the boys arguing over strategies, we had a good time. Even with young kids, we were able to complete a lot of the rooms. There are plenty of rooms that could be completed by those with physical limitations, but obviously not all of them. We had a good time and the time flew by. There is also a bar and restaurant and a few games to play after your time is up. They also keep the space clean and organized, which is no easy feat given the nature of the business! The selection of crafts, while a bit pricey, is excellent. I've found that if it's in budget (you can find info on pricing on their website), you can find something fun for just about anyone. And regarding the price points, to me it does make sense given the cost of materials and labor involved. Whenever I go, I always leave room in my budget to add the suggested tip for the employees since they do such a great job and deserve to be paid well for it. Their specialty shakes are also AMAZING! Seriously, the price point they're at makes sense considering all of the extra goodies that are piled on top of the shake itself, and they're delicious! Just be sure to grab a napkin or two if you order one since it can get a bit messy. My one complaint, if I can even call it that, is that when it's especially busy it can be a bit cramped trying to walk around between the tables. That said, it's not bad enough for me to dock them a star since they use and manage their space well, and when I've been there people were generally conscientious of their surroundings which in turn reduced potential problems. All in all, Creative Culture is a bit pricey but very fun and well run! I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to go for a celebration, special occasion, or even just because. I can't wait to go again someday!

I'm glad we did - it was a fun, casual, easy outing to celebrate the holiday. The reason for the average review is mostly for the price. We paid $112 for 4 people for an hour and a half, which feels steep to me - this is definitely not something I'd want to pay for outside of a special occasion. Additionally, they request tips for your coach/server on not just your food/drink bill - but on the bill for the entire experience, making your tip at least $25 on top of your total. If you order drinks, you're not escaping here for under $200. I want our server to be fairly tipped, but tipping that much more for what was essentially a 5-minute how-to at the beginning of our experience feels a little rich. All that said, our coach was very friendly. The facility is well-maintained and clean. I do like the layout, with tables at the end of each lane where you can sit with your party. They have a nice booklet of suggested games to try - which really help give some structure to what would otherwise be an hour and a half of throwing an axe. It is also nice that they still allow you up to 3 alcoholic beverages while throwing weapons - haha. The 1.5 hour session is the perfect amount of time - it allowed just to play 2 full games, and throw around for a while. In the last 15 minutes or so, we were feeling like we definitely had our fill.
