Pro's Reliable, always has the product you need. Along with good customer service and trip into the dungeon is always nice. Cons: it's gonna be 2x as expensive as everywhere else you go. As a native to the Haight ashbury in San Fransisco, aka historic hippie paradise, I've grown up surrounded by smoke shops so luxurious that I though that never in a million years I'd see another shop that doesn't look like complete trash by comparison. The Dungeon proved me wrong. An urban palace upon entry, the dungeon carries some of the coolest gear I've ever seen, enough to be enjoyed by both smokers and non smokers. I like to accompany my friends whenever they visit this store just because it's so much fun to look at all of the cool stuff they got, and I feel like I find something new every time I'm there. The workers are also fantastic, "E" knew what we wanted before we even knew what we wanted. One of the best smoke shops I've seen, and easily the best in Chico, I highly recommend you stop by and give it a look. There's something there for everyone. read more

While I was browsing around there was an employee having a loud and incredibly heated conversation on the phone in a different language. Tonight I went here to buy rolling papers and look at their pipe collection, but turned around once I realized that this place is a joke. They practically ignored my friends and I when we walked in and they didn't even bother to turn the lights to a level that would allow you to see around the store. When it came to customer service, I was even further disappointed. The owner and what seemed to be his son were both extremely high and oblivious to my friends and I and another wandering customer. Once they finally came around to acknowledging me, I was just about done with the store. I asked them about rolling papers which they showed me and I purchased, their one redeeming moment. (thus, the second stars) On our way out, we looked at their pipe selection. And almost Immediately they thought it would be funny to try and convince me to buy three different pink bedazzled bongs because they said they "suited me". Sell fake overpriced vapes and when asked for a refund because the vape almost exploded and was leaking juice and died in two days E one of the workers was a total asshole and didn't even give me the time of day to even look at the product he sold to me that was defective. When I first walked into the back I was helped quickly. However, the owner was the only one who could answer my question and the guy that went to find him must have gotten lost in the 13 foot distance he had to travel to find him. When the owner finally made it my way everything turned around. He was professional and knowledgeable. He talked to me for 45 min without interruption, making sure I got the best product for me. He even down sold me because he didn't want me buying something too expensive that I wouldn't use every day! At the end, he threw in a ton of free stuff, gave me his number and told me to call any time with any questions."We all need someone to teach us how to ride the bike", he said. Overall, the man makes the store, and I'll recommend it to anyone. Oh, about the piercing. I've been recommended to this place by numerous tattoo artists in Chico. A few weeks ago I was calling around town checking out different shops to see if they carried a specific product. After having pleasant experiences with 2 other shops over the phone I called the Dungeon. The employee who answered the phone just kept answering my questions with " yea, we have a lot. Come and look", "we have a bunch, you can see for yourself." Maybe off by a few words but the vibe I got was, "I'm too busy to help you over the phone, your question means nothing to me and I've got something better I can be doing." Needless to say I did not jump in my car and come find out for myself. I've actually taken the time to write a bad review. For being right smack in the middle of downtown you would think they would have some sense of professionalism or credibility. Not getting my vote or business ever. read more

Two weeks ago I went to the Dungeon to find a shirt for my husband. While I was in there I found the prefect shirt so I asked if I brought it and it did not fit my husband if I can bring it back to exchange. I live out of town so it is not easy for me just to come back the next day. He said yes that it would not be a problem. Well today I went in to exchange it for a bigger size and the guy say that because my husband had tried on the shirt (just to see if it would fit n then took it off cause it did not fit) that he would not exchange it. But he would let me buy the exact same shirt just bigger size and he would give me $10 off. I told him that was unfair. I didn't want to buy the same shirt I just wanted it replaced. He told me that he was not going to take a lost for my mistake. WHAT!! I would have never brought the shirt if he said I could not exchange it if it didn't fit. Don't ever get a piercing at The Dungeon! I went there for snakebites and the older man who did the piercing seemed like he was high. When I got home and looked in the mirror I noticed one piercing was lower than the other! My friends noticed they weren't even as well. I returned to the Dungeon a few days later and explained the problem, thinking that he would apologize and I could get it re-pierced for free. Or at least at a reduced price! The man did not apologize, and he told me he measured them out so they couldn't be crooked and told me the piercings were even. No refund, re-do, or apology! I ended up taking it out because it looked too bad. You're much better off going to Sacred Art Tattoo if you need a piercing, they are fabulous. Avoid the Dungeon for piercing. read more

The place is pretty good i love their banners and posters. don't get pierced there, though. They do a good job, but my lip piercing costed $42 and i didnt get to pick my stud. The guy didn't tell me how much it would be until after he did it. And believe me, I asked multiple times. But if yu want to buy a specific item, its a good place to go. I went to the dungeon to get a tattoo with my family and was looking at the tattoo pictures. My baby started fussing a little and the guy at the register said, that he has to ask me to leave in a very rude way and very unprofessional. I'm sorry but those people are a big joke. I, with all honesty, cannot even give this business a one star rating. My very first visit to this business was on the 28th, April. I went online, and checked out all of the 'smokeshops' in town, and came to the conclusion that I would go and check out, 'The Dungeon" smoke shop. I went in, there was one man, very high, behind the counter, watching his t.v., and, what appeared to be a boy of barely 16, also high. I looked over the array of merchandise. I was not overly impressed, but hey, for all intents and purposes, there was a plentiful selection. I did not find exactly what I wanted, and therefore compromised, on a rather decent looking, bright yellow pipe, of frosted glass, with a silhouette of, Bob Marley. After using the pipe, I decided to clean it. I took a q-tip, and some hot water and proceeded to clean. As the cleaning proceeded, I realized that the yellow was coming off. After further examination, and a bit more cleaning, I realized that the 'yellow' was not infused within, rather, the inside of the pipe was simply hand painted yellow. I was furious that I was sold not only an inferior item, but also, a item that eventually would have damaged not only my lungs, but my very life. I went back the next day, intent on at least getting an exchange. A friend came along. I was greeted by two men, one, the son of the owner, ( older than the first, and by the looks of it, He was very high ), the other, a large red headed guy. I will admit, that my attitude upon entering was borderline surly, though, I never raised my voice. After explaining the situation, and showing them the condition of said pipe, I was bluntly informed by the owners son, that he did not care, ( his exact words ). I bought the pipe, and used it, therefore it was not returnable, that there would be no exchange, and to get out of his store, or the police would be called. He made it succinctly clear that He did not care about my displeasure, or the quality, ( or lack of ), of the pipe. At this point, not only did I become incensed, but so did my friend. After a bit of attempting to calm the situation, the large red headed guy became a bit verbally aggressive towards myself, and my friend. We were told to get out, threats of calling the police were made, again, and if we had any more issues, we could bring it up with the father. I returned 2 hours later, as instructed, to not find the father there. The owners son, ( higher than earlier ), was there, and still, with disdain, he informed me that I was not going to get an exchange or a refund. Suffice to say, at this point, all civility went out the door. I made it clear that at least, an exchange was going to happen. I also made it clear that I knew for a fact that his smoke shop sold drug paraphernalia to minors, and that certainly, call the police. After a silence of 5 minutes, I was given a decent exchange. I will never go back to this establishment. It is a prime example of the type of smoke shops that ought to not be in business. They obviously do not care about their customers. The business set up is a joke, and a travesty. I will take my business to, Blaze N J's, or, Dragon Tobacco. read more
