It was with great relief one weekday lunchtime that I discovered My Street Food Vietnamese existed. With the promise of fresh authentic dishes direct from Vietnam I bundled my colleagues into a car and drove the 2 minutes down the road to the little store-front. We have been back many, many times since that fateful day and it has now become an accepted part of our lunchtime repertoire. M.S.F Chicken Crispy Fried Rice has become the undisputed favourite of the entire office space. The melt-in-your-mouth chicken doused heavily in an aromatic marinade coupled with the crunchy rice and sweet cucumber and carrot slivers is a match made in heaven. We all feel fresher after eating this particular dish, and even the most decadent of the group will often choose it over a heavier fast-food option. The Vermicelli Salad with Lemongrass Pork comes a firm second in the lunch-time line-up. The pork is always soft and tender and couples beautifully with the flat rice noodles and lettuce, cucumber and herb salad. When comparing this dish to the version at Gabba Takeaway the My Street Food option is always nicer with a better quality cut of pork and far less sinewy, fatty bits. The store itself is an exercise in bright, clean functionality. A team of workers bustle behind the counter brimming with fresh ingredients and pre-made rice paper rolls. Phone orders are encouraged, and there is a convenient car spot right out the front for dash-and-carry lunchtime pick-ups. The prices are reasonable with most dishes under $10 and it won't tax your health either. I highly recommend this local gem for takeaway options. It's a pity they don't open for fast and healthy dinner inspiration, but I'll take what I can get.

This is the place to go. In the 8-10 times I've been here, they've never disappointed. Always make their food fresh and service is prompt. Be careful of the Ibis that are near the restaurants in the South Bank Parklands. Yes, they're everywhere and there's a lot of them.

It wasn't the best meal as the oil had gotten between the fish and batter so when you cut into it, you were left with a plate of oil. I've ordered the cheeseburger and that was a great dish but the fish and chips need some work. The waiters are fantastic. The food came out for our table together and fresh. My only other gripe would be half the time I call the restaurant lately, it says the phone number is disconnected.

We showed up on a weekend night, parking in an unassuming strip mall. The first thing that hits me is the aroma of roasting meat and the plume of smoke coming out of the chimney. Best of all, it smells like real meat, like in a legit kebap restaurant in Turkey. As soon as we head inside, we're greeted with quite the familiar site. Long tables of giant food platters, huge families talking loudly, the shop proprietor playing keyboard and singing, and lots of kids dancing in the middle of the restaurant. This is generally what our typical Turkish weddings look like, btw. We ordered a mixed platter of dips and bread to start, followed by a giant mixed grill, falafel platter, and my favourite, Iskender Kebap. Oh my lord, everything was ridiculously good, and most definitely authentic. Firstly, the eggplant was char-grilled, not roasted in a 400 degree oven; you can always tell the difference. The meat tasted like it was flown in from the motherland, the Pide bread was hot and fluffy, and even the yogurt was homemade. A couple of glasses of Raki, some great company, and some very authentic food left us stuffed and happy. We would definitely come back here again, now if only it wasn't located in the middle of nowhere...

I was disappointed that they didn't accept American Express, but I'm finding that's pretty common in Australia. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $15.50 AUD got me a pretty good sized mixed meat yiro, which was a pretty good deal even though, as you'll see, they skimped on the meat a bit. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? I'll start off by saying that I liked the selection of meats and peripherals at The Yiros Shop, and it was clear that these were some fresh ingredients. Having said that, I felt a bit robbed of those fresh looking meats, and instead my mixed meat yiro was packed with french fries, tahini sauce, and vegetables with a notable lack of meats. That's not uncommon I suppose, but something to keep an eye on. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back?
