Stopped in after walking through the park. The atmosphere is very nice with lots of little things to buy such as jewelry, tshirts and artwork. The baristas were very friendly and were quick to get our drinks. My wife got a sugar free, decaf latte as they had several to choose from. I got a blended dirty Chai drink. Both drinks were very good. They also have food you can order and several gluten-free options even for sandwiches. Will have to try those another time as we weren't hungry this time. OK so the coffee was decent... except the guy making them read the order wrong and made mine iced first.‍ It seemed like he either wasn't awake yet, needed another cup or two, or was just scatter brained... or maybe new with very little instruction as to where things were at & how to read tickets. He was nice and very apologetic, but took forever to make drinks (ours and others') due to wandering around looking lost half the time - like what he needed wasn't where he expected it to be. I'd give 5 stars in spite of the service if the coffee was stellar, but it was average. Hubs got the breakfast bowl & said it was decent... not fantastic. He also got a drink and said it was "OK." You know how you see something on Instagram and it seems like the coolest thing ever, then you get there and it's just not? That is absolutely not what happened at the Electric Brew. I saw their insta feed and it looked like a place where the cool kids go. I was not disappointed when I arrived. I ordered a mocha, because they told me they are made with actual chocolate, not powder. I was hungry so I grabbed their pick two lunch. A turkey panini and some of the best broccoli cheddar soup I've ever had! You get the feeling that everyone that walks in those doors is a friend. I was at Elkhart for an event this afternoon and decided to try some local coffee shops before dinner. I yelped for this place and the coffee and bakery goodies looked good. However when I ordered the vanilla latte, it looked it below without any pattern on. I was very disappointed. The coffee itself tasted okay anyway. The bakery was very limited as well, especially in the late afternoon. I wanted to do a brownie but it was not available. The staff was really nice and helpful. Soooo cozy! I loved this warm, delicious smelling little nook that I found by the river. Close to downtown shopping and has seating both inside and outside. This coffee shop is a bit hidden, but the inside is cool and has a historic vibe. They have tons of baked goods and specialty drinks along with a huge fresh tea selection. As out-of-towners, we stopped in to hang out for a bit before an appointment. At first there weren't many seats, but it cleared out after the lunch rush. My only issue is that the cup they gave me was chipped and it took a moment for the staff to realize we were waiting to order. But we split a basil turkey wrap and it was pretty great! We tried The Electric Brew after staying overnight in Elkhart on a recent road trip. It is a great place to choose for a light, quick breakfast and some caffeine to start the day. They have a wide selection of hot and cold coffee selections and tea to choose from, and they had a lot of homemade bakery items to go with them. Their chocolate chip zucchini bread was very good, and we also enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches on homemade bagels. I love coming here for coffee and hanging out. I usually get the salted Carmel lattee. The desserts are always tempting. My favorite I've had is the whisky cake. The only reason I'm giving it 4 and not 5 is that I don't understand why it's not open on Sunday. The one in Goshen is even if it is shorter hours. read more
