We were doing some tourist stuff in South Bend and it was 10 in the morning and I asked Yelp to help me find something breakfast-y. Not super familiar with the area and although there were plenty of chains and local spots, this namesake was like a Gen X dog whistle! No time to do a deep dive... our group of 6 just went for it. What a surprise. The Breakfast Club shares the space with four other entities and comes with a healthy side of hipster vibe (I apologize, I'm probably using these words all wrong). The menu is very unique... some Asian fusion influences. You order from your device, but the waiters are friendly and totally gave us great recommendations. Menu prices seem average but I probably don't know the area all that much. I don't know if I'll be back out here again, so of course I have to try the breakfast ramen. I told my group I wasn't all that hungry, but I ended up finishing it. The ramen noodles itself was a bit softer than my impression of ramen. But it came with pork belly and baby bok choy and shitake mushrooms, and a sunny-side egg with a dash of furikake, I think. Also a dumpling, but the dumpling was only OK. The broth is good and everything blended in nicely and was very "scarfable". The pork was a touch sweet, but I reminded myself that this is a BREAKFAST ramen. Really enjoyed my food. Although it's very much so like a self service (order via QR code on table & they bring you everything) the staff still make a good effort to make you feel welcomed and check on you. The kitchen and restaurant are clean and it has a very nice amber, hip, yet modern atmosphere. Only reason I give it 4 stars is because it's hard to find. I am traveling here for work and Respectfully, there's alot of abandoned business all around south bend. With the construction going on next door, I wish there was something that made this place "pop" more. I walked by here 2-5 times looking for food and didn't realize it was there. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect at the Breakfast Club. I had a croissant with potato, eggs, bacon, and cheese along with crispy breakfast potatoes. It was delicious if not a little messy. The crispy potatoes were unique. The service was good. The Dainty Maid food court (for lack of a better term) is really neat and eclectic. On the downside, at least for me, is the lack of menus. Everything is done via your phone and a QR code. It might be more efficient but I guess I am getting old and prefer a menu in hand to look at. read more

A perfect food experience. It is the best version of a food hall where there are sweet experts getting your dishes ready as quickly and as thoroughly as is possible. Just a great experience across the board. The environment is approachable and friendly. Clean and orderly. My only regret is that I couldn't try more things from this menu! There are so many truly unique menu items, on each of the menus--one location, several different restaurants, each with their own online menu. Fortunately you can mix and match from the different menus, so I got a meal from this one and a drink from one of the others. Amazing breakfast lunch with a variety of options for everyone. Three of us had different French toast options (pictured is the fried fresh mozzarella toast). We all thought our dish was a fresh mix of creativity with the ingredients! Delicious! One of us had a a delicious burrito with just as much creativity! Three of us had a sugared espresso which was absolutely amazing. We also split monkey bread like muffins. These were pretty yummy as well. They have a variety croissants that looked delicious. I thought I would try this place again. I love biscuits and gravy and saw they had it with chicken. I ordered it with a scrambled egg instead of a sunny side up and it came out. I tried it and thought the sausage grave tasted odd and the biscuit didn't looked fully cooked. The server asked how it was and I said I didn't care for it. This place quickly shot up to my favorites! And I've only been once. It's a little disorienting cause it's 4 different suppliers and the door lists all of them. Once you're in and check the digital menu, it's the best experience. You need to scan a QR code to see the menu, and you order it. So make sure you have a debit card! The atmosphere was very nice. Very relaxed but also stylish. The food is fun, smart, and beautifully presented, we raved about it. I can't wait to go there again! Not enjoyable dining experience having to log on to an internet menu, connect to wifi, then navigate multiple menus to order breakfast. Tip and pay before getting your food. Then food comes out at completely different times. It's a mix of different restaurants in one space so there's no one accountable person for your dining experience. We got lost trying to find a different restaurant for breakfast (thank you Apple Maps!). So we actually stumbled on this place by accident. And maaaaan, we are so happy we did! The atmosphere is awesome with the decor and music. The food seemed kind of pretentious to my "basic bitch" pallet (I do love me some pizza rolls! ). But my wife and I found some things to try and everything was amazing! I ordered an Iced Cortadito, it was incredible! And I usually hate anything with coffee! It was so good, I actually ordered one to go! My wife had "The Classic" breakfast platter and it was amazing! The potatoes were some of the best we ever had and very unlike anything you can find anywhere else! The biscuit was soft and delicious! Everything tastes like it was made with love! Oh yeah, we also had two of their macaroons. They were both great but the vanilla was definitely better than the fruity pebbles macaroon. The barista staff we encountered before the actual restaurants opened were not welcoming or forthcoming of any information about how the place worked even after we said we hadn't visited before. Once we came back and got an actual server to help us, she answered all my questions! Without her, we wouldn't have figured out how to eat here at all and probably would have left. The food was hit or miss. Came for the breakfast ramen cuz of its reviews but what I experienced was not good. We abandoned it and ordered other things. Orange mocha was great. French toast was dry. Excellent food, especially the breakfast ramen. No complaints there. However, it is far too loud. There's not much a restaurant can do about conversation noise, but they also play very loud music, which makes the issue worse. It is difficult to have conversations across the table, and even more so with staff. Also, their online ordering system seems buggy. The first time we were there, it refused to take my wife's credit card, and staff were unable to help. Personally, I don't care for restaurants asking customers to scan a QR code to get a menu. When I'm out with friends and loved ones, I would prefer everyone keeps their phones put away and focuses on enjoying the people they're with. read more

Definitely not a place I'd give another shot. I'm not a huge fan of looking at menus on my phone, and now I've learned I'm not a fan at all of ordering on my phone, especially not a $50 brunch. You're expected to pay and tip before receiving the food, which being unsure what kind of service we were going to receive is difficult to do.
