And I've especially marveled over things like the watercolor tattoos that he's done. So between that and the praise that people like Jenna C. gave for Moo handling people getting their first tattoo, I knew it was the spot to go to. With there being a holiday flash special all weekend the shop was crowded beyond belief. But Noah and his crew managed to accommodate above and beyond, and even took some design requests within reason of what fit the size requirements. With it being all hollows eve there were plenty of ghosts, skulls, witches, and other spooky designs that were relevant to my interests. For 30 years I've had a design in mind and I finally decided to do something about it. Communicating through their site, I received a response quickly. They paired me with an artist and I quickly reviewed his work online. I knew quickly that my somewhat simple design (Picasso's Don Quixote), and all black coloring would probably be simple for Mike. Turns out, it was! I could have left a deposit and gone for a consultation first, but decided to just roll in and get it done. I'm an anxious guy and am older, so hanging at the tat shop isn't my norm! The front desk person was so kind and clearly loves their job. They paired me with an artist who went to art school, was a little older (sorry Mike!) and took the assignment to heart. He worked on me for about 2.5 hours and I still am surprised at how inexpensive the final product cost. Mike clearly explained aftercare and made sure I knew what to do and avoid. He also made sure to let me know that 54 year old skin heals differently than 20! A solid month later and I couldn't be more pleased with my tattoo. My other calve is itching for ink, and I'm excited to know where and who to go to. Disclaimer: I don't know shit about tattoos, but I love what Hunter Gatherer and Mike did for me.
