My fiancé and I decided to have a COVID wedding and reached out to TEC late July, hoping they were available on 10/10/2020, and with love on our side, our stars aligned and we were in planning mode. I'll be there first to tell you that I am not the planning type, so this was right up my alley. A quick phone call, some emails and a shared Pinterest board and were in business. All we had to do was get the marriage license and decide where we would go for dinner afterwards. Charity and Megan are phenomenal! They're so sweet, professional, responsive, and have more resources than you could ask for. They are so accommodating, and even send reminders to keep you on track. I couldn't have wished for a better team to handle my wedding!! The first time I actually met Charity was as I was walking into the hall to get married and it felt like we were old friends. All of the details were perfect. The decorations, my bouquet, and boutonnières were absolutely stunning!! Charity is a A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Contacted her last minute so to say for a shoot and she was nothing but flexible setting things up. She makes "awkward" photoshoots fun and comfortable. For those who feel shy or uncomfortable in-front of the camera - like me, I like to be behind it rather. Her spunky attitude and up-beat personality makes you forget there is even a camera involved. She delivers what she promised. Photos are ready 30-days after the shoot and the quality of her pictures are nothing but consistent. Charity's skills and talent speak for themselves. Her visual signature is consistent and that is what I was looking for, as an Architect my eye is very critical on details like that and having a uniform portfolio directly relate values and quality of their product. If you don't feel like reading my schpeel, here's the quick and dirty: BOOK CHARITY! Soooo, we planned a courthouse wedding 5 days before, because we're awesome and adventurous (and maybe hot messes) like that. We'd gone back and forth between large v. small wedding and, in the end, the courthouse thing was just perfect for us. I'm a bit of a picture snob and wanted someone who could not only take amazing pics, but knew the best locations in the area around the courthouse and could get great photos quickly...mostly because we had a one-year-old and there's only so much happy time we had to work with. Also because it was approximately 92848 degrees out. I found Charity on Google and her style was exactly what I wanted. I reached out, and we got on a quick call to plan it all out. She was SO cool, very laid back, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We vibed right away and I was excited to have her do our photos. On the actual wedding day, Charity stayed in touch with us and even through a slight hiccup on our side, she was extremely patient and went COMPLETELY above and beyond the call of duty. She knew the perfect spots to grab photos and was able to bring us to them quickly. She even put thought into the way she posed us (making us look so much better in the pics than in real life haha). We are so happy we chose The Elopement Company and Charity to help plan and be with us for our wedding. She was professional, flexible and caring. The ceremony turned out beautifully. We wanted the ceremony to be just the two of us despite having a reception at the Ballantyne Hotel and she understood that and appreciated it. We had to change the ceremony sire the morning of the wedding due to weather and she rolled with all of our changes. Everything seemed great at the beginning. However, not surprisingly, we eventually received the note saying our wedding date was cancelled due to COVID-19. We understood, as most things were cancelled because of this unforeseen situation. But my heart was set on an April 2020 wedding for personal reasons. I let TEC know that we would be open to having the legal part taken care of, almost as paperwork only, in my friend's yard, OUTSIDE, 6 feet+ away from each other, with gloves, masks and it would be about 2 minutes and then we could deal with photos, etc. at a later time. She did not feel comfortable with this arrangement, which was disappointing but I understand and respect 100%. We found another officiant who was willing to marry us in a safe way in April 2020 and our friend was able to snap a few photos. Because of their efforts, we ended up with a wonderful Wedding day and we did not need to have another ceremony or other photos taken. TEC kept half of our money and said that was per the original contract. Of all the vendors we had to cancel with (makeup/hair people, house we rented for our wedding weekend, stationary company I ordered invites through to our celebration party that was cancelled for early May, etc.) she is the only vendor who disappointed us. Over the 2-3 months of working with her we had 1 phone call, exchanged a few emails and she suggested a salon for me who I had to reach out to and coordinate with. That's all. She never ended up buying any flowers or anything for our ceremony. No officiating, no pictures taken and so no editing, no cupcakes, no travel, nothing. And yet she kept that amount of money. I was SHOCKED! A few of my friends who are engaged asked me my thoughts of this company- so I am sharing in this review what I shared with them- Given everything happening, and how amazing people have been, I really thought she would keep a percentage but could have never imagined she would say 50%. So, yes, this seems like a great concept- but I would warn you that if anything crazy comes up, even if you try to suggest other options, if she decides she can't accommodate those, be prepared to lose a significant amount of money, because she is not going to pay you that back, even if the world shuts down due to a pandemic... read more
