Our day-of host, Pete, was very courteous and helpful. We did have trouble getting management to respond to our emails and texts in the months leading up to the wedding. At one point, we didn't hear back for a full month. We also were told during our initial tour that the sound systems installed in the chapel and reception hall would be available to use, but were later told that we couldn't use the sound systems that are permanently installed, and rather we had to provide our own speakers and equipment. Other than the communication trouble and speaker situation, we really enjoyed having our wedding at River Road.

I love the fact that the reception hall was like a huge garage. It has rolled up doors that 2 full sides could be wide opened if the weather permits, which it was a perfect day for it. It's a location worth checking out and considering if you're planning for your big day. Just a heads up tho, the parking lot is all gravel, be very careful if you wear high heels. It was a real pain in the ass for me making that short walk to and from the car, but I suck at walking in high heels, so u might be just fine ;)

I'm so glad we went, had a great time and will be regulars when they start up again next year. I also have tons of tips for first timers. First, CR 408 is really, really, really easy to miss (especially in the dark). Aggravate the locals and drive really slow or you will miss the turn. There was no attendent at parking (which is on the grassy area between the rows of grapevines and before the house) . We weren't sure initially that that was where we were supposed to park but it is and if you overshoot it, turning around (in the dark) is kind of a feat. They say to get there around 6:30 to get a table. I would second this and say also that you want to get the bottles you are going to want before it gets really crowded. They have a menu of wines available but people can sample before purchasing so the line can move really slowly (like 15 to 20 minutes). If you are going to get there later, definitely bring lawn chairs. The sound is really good but the least obstructed views of the band go very fast. The web site recommends bringing a picnic basket/food and that really is a good idea as you are sitting and relaxing, listening to good music ... it is a natural to want some kind of little snack to go along with it. Altogether great, great time!

The good menu isn't extensive but they take standard bar food and make it classier. Upon recommendation we tried the giant pretzel (seriously it was giant! Two people could barely finish it and 3-4 would have a decent snack) which came with tasty mustard and melted cheese sauces for dipping. I thought the food prices were pretty standard but the drink prices were a little more affordable than you'd find in a bigger city. There was a beautiful chapel back in the woods, a little bit away from the noise of the parking lot, then there was a stage for the DJ or band next to the dance floor and lots of tables in a little pavilion area and restrooms indoors. My aunt said the venue was great to work with, even as they were figuring out some of the things for the first time, like installing their first permanent dance floor. We all had so much fun! I also got the scoop on the AirBnB from my aunt. Apparently, there's a lovely cabin where you can lower the walls and sleep under the stars in mosquito netting. I want to come back and stay here!
