This venue is breathtaking and affordable! The property is huge which gives clients the ability to do pretty much anything they want for an event. The inside of the barn is also spacious with two women and men bathrooms, storage closets, a kitchen and a room for vendors. I love this venue for many reasons including it's air conditioned, all furniture/ rentals they have are included, the location is private and lastly the staff is kind and helpful. read more

My perspective of White Sparrow Barn was as a wedding guest. I thought the venue was beautiful and spacious. They had an outdoor area for the wedding ceremony and an indoor area for the reception. I loved that they have a covered outdoor porch like section where guests could have cocktails and socialize while waiting on the bride and groom to take photos. read more

Unfortunately, they don't offer the same opportunity to all brides and are more interested in "first come first serve" in terms of who gets a check in their hands first -- this is what I just experienced over the phone with their venue planner, Marissa, who offered no apology or sympathy for what she pulled. I've worked as an event planner for 10 years and a soft hold is as respected as contracted ones because planners understand the importance of these details to the client. A venue that gets snatched from under you or a date that gets taken with no opportunity to contest for it is a very big deal to brides. I'm an out of town bride who was very excited to book this venue and reached out to Marissa very early on to express my interest and book a site visit. Sure, my site visit wasn't going to be for a few weeks but if I was told IN ADVANCE there would be an issue, I would've flown out earlier or had my parents go see the venue and sign the contract for me. Unfortunately, I had the rug pulled from under me instead and as other brides know, the wedding date and venue are two of the most important puzzle pieces in wedding planning. Needless to say, I was gutted. She emailed me 45 minutes before she sent a contract to another bride. That's right... 45 minutes via email and she didn't have the courtesy to wait for me to respond before she sent the contract to someone else. The worst part is when I called her after seeing her email, she simply didn't care. Advice to the Huerta family: You have a beautiful venue. My wife and I had our wedding here in 2016, and I would rather be tortured than go through the experience and stress of planning a wedding with the staff of the White Sparrow. After booking our wedding here, they tried to tell us that we couldn't bring in kegs to the venue. After pointing out this wasn't in the contract, they tried to tell us that we could bring kegs, but could only keep them outside, and bring in glasses of beer from outside. Obviously, I wanted to be flexible, so I called one of the owners to try to talk through the details, and he literally proceeded to rudely argue with me on the phone, and told me, and I quote, "I can literally put the bar on the roof the day of your wedding. It's my venue. I can do whatever I want." Fearing some type of retribution, and not wanting to have our big day ruined, I finally settled for bringing in cans of beer to avoid the issue altogether, which ended up costing me a deposit on some kegs (a few hundred dollars). The day of the wedding, instead of the assistants that were promised (who are basically there to tattle to the owners if you do something they deem to be outside of the contract [re: the keg issue]), the owner who had argued with me was there instead. Needless to say, it was awkward. He also apparently got mad at some kids that were at the venue for playing upstairs. We weren't happy. To the owners, get someone to run your business for you - your out of control antics and lack of any real sense of customer service will catch up to you. To any prospective customers, you get what you pay for (a beautiful venue, no doubt) but I would rather have had our wedding anywhere else in retrospect given our terrible experience with the owners. read more

My fiancé and I were married at The White Sparrow on February 25th and I have so many wonderful things to say about this venue! Our experience was great. First of all, this is such an elegant and unique place. I received endless compliments from guests about our gorgeous venue. The white backdrop and plentiful natural lighting was a dream for our photographer and videographer. I would like to address some of the concerns other people had who used this venue, because they terrified me when I read these reviews (I had already signed a contract). I had absolutely NO issues with communication with The White Sparrow. I sent numerous emails for many months and almost always received a response within the day, often even within the hour. In fact, Marissa, our wedding coordinator was the best I have ever been around (and I have been apart of 5 weddings this year). She made sure that everything ran smoothly and went above and beyond to help in any way she could. I entrusted Marisa with numerous tasks and was blown away by her competence in all things wedding. Kailea also helped quite a bit on our wedding day. Even the security guard was very helpful and kind. The White Sparrow team is amazing!! Other things to address: Yes the county road to turn on is easy to miss. We put up white balloons and a sign and had no issues with guests getting lost. Because our wedding was in February the bridal room was cold when we got there the morning of the wedding. Kailea cranked up the heat upstairs and we were warm within 30 minutes. Yes the owners are strict about certain things. However, we signed a contract disclosing what is and is not allowed on their property. There were no surprises on our wedding day about what was expected. They obviously take pride in their barn and want it to remain in pristine condition! If we could go back in time we would choose The White Sparrow again and again for our wedding venue. We had such a wonderful experience and I think it's the prettiest venue in the dfw area! read more

Beautiful venue, but beauty is only skin deep. Staff unprofessional and seemingly untrained. This place is not for the handicapped or mobility impaired. If you care at all about your guest with special needs. Pass this place up !!! They have no interest in helping handicapped guests what so ever. Ask 4 different staff members were handicapped entrance was. Got blank stares. One said "oh there is a sidewalk around there pointing to an area by some A/C units but you can't use it because catering staff had it block off" Then told me just go around there and up two steps and your good. Said like a true able bodied person with no clue what they were actually saying. I should have known I was in an unwelcoming place when they had no handicapped parking designated. Getting to area where Wedding was set up another nightmare !!! No pavement or walkway. Just take off across the grass about 150ft. Again if you ambulatory no problem but if your compromised you are in for a trek. Grass is very uneven, full of holes, ruts and very soft dirt not a good combination. Next the fun continues once you get back up the 2 stairs to the barn where dinner will be served. Tables so packed together that it's even more difficult to get to your seat. Then you are stuck there until you are ready to leave because it was such an ordeal to get you to your place. Tables so tight staff can't even get through. Chairs between tables keep hitting together. Not fun. Not going up stairs either no elevator. They do have an ADA bathroom. Thank goodness for small favors. Again keep looking !!! You want ALL your guests to have a good time. read more

This venue choice is pretty. Some issues, however; we are not mentioning all of them that we experienced with our making this venue choice and in our opinion based on our experiences. Listed were some of the following: Difficulty scheduling and interacting with the owners for viewing the facility prior to our event (after having pre-paid a deposit) for the setting up on our event day and for clearing the venue post-event. They may be busy. No sign or arrows pointing the way to the "Barn" down an unpaved road with the facility directions or name on the road to the acreage and venue. Many of our guests were unable to find the venue until late due to no sign. Kitchen appliances needed for the dinner located in the venue were not functioning, may need service and/or replacement. Non working, inadequate sound system for the event. We were told it was working or we would have provided our own sound. Heating and cooling issues throughout the facility - especially upstairs quarters. They may have an inadequate unit for this big facility or just cutting costs. They had an industrial warehouse fan upstairs which was noisy and powerful for a dressing room of small/medium size. No elevator for upstairs area admittance for physically challenged people and elderly. Maturity, humility and professionalism seem to be lacking from the interactions. They did not take responsibility for the issues that we experienced. We do understand how difficult it can be to admit deficiency. We hope that this helps you in some way or to assist in your decision to have your event here and discuss ahead of time your expectations and desired outcome. It will be important to have your desires committed to writing in the contract you sign. DFW offers hundreds of venue choices and I would recommend to visit some of them too. My daughter got married at White Sparrow Barn this past weekend. Our process started in October when we booked the wedding. From start to final our experience could not have been more perfect!! I don't have 1 teeny tiny thing to even complain about. The venue is A DREAM!! You think it's gorgeous in pics...it's a million times more amazing in person! The staff was unbelievable - Marissa was our go-to and I don't know if she could've been any more amazing! Every email I sent her about the dumbest thing (looking back) she responded in less then 5 mins. The bridals, she couldn't be more helpful. The day of the wedding - oh my goodness, from being everywhere at once it felt like, to get my grandson out of the car and having a show ready for him to watch on her phone, to fixing the girls dresses...I've helped with weddings before and the venue person is usually sitting in the office the whole day IF you need her come and get her - not here - she was THE BEST!! The grounds are amazing, just for real MAGICAL! The FIREWORKS...OMG!! I'm beyond grateful that this venue was built so our baby girl could have her dream wedding!! LOVED our experience! Absolutely beautiful and unique venue. From the moment our guests stepped foot on the grounds they were taking pictures and raving about the location. Big shout out to Marissa who knows that venue like the back of her hand and was our month of planner. She was FANTASTIC and made the day stress free and run smoothly. She is a great communicator and very efficient. It was unfortunately pouring rain on and off during the day of our wedding so we only got to enjoy the outside of the barn for a short amount of time, but the inside of the barn is so stunning that it didn't matter!!! We couldn't have been happier with The White Sparrow, all of our vendors, and how our wedding day turned out! We look forward to coming back in a year for more pictures!!! read more

Gorgeous Venue and accessible to all the make up staff and hair staff that needed to get in. I feel there is a really fine line between firm and fair and I don't feel the planner on staff has mastered it. The whole purpose of a wedding is to ensure your guest have fun and as a bridesmaid and a guest my husband and I were astounded by her rudeness. There are zero signs anywhere about smoking but Marissa would be happy to verbally tell you once you h enlighten up that you can go out to the gate 100 yards from the building to smoke. Tre staff also took away all dining utensils in between salad and entree leaving my husband and I to wait for 10 mins before we got assistance. The day of coordinator was incredibly rude during the send out telling us to move places even though we couldn't because of the amount of people present. She snapped at the bridesmaids incessantly throughout the entire day and was rude in general. Would never recommend. Not if you want your guest to be treated well and to enjoy. read more

Beautiful venue but the Staff is terrible. It's all about Money to them. Spent More than $10k on this venue and once the wedding was over we couldn't get them to return an email or phone call. We were rushed out by 11pm and my family was treated like trash by Marissa. She was rude to the bridesmaids and several of the wedding guest. Not to mention, we ran into her 6 months later and she acted like she didn't know us. I'm appalled that the owners actually condone this type of behavior by keeping her employed. read more

The White Sparrow is truly a dream! Not only is the venue gorgeous, but Marissa and the owners were so kind and easy to work with. Marissa is very responsive - typically emailed me back same day or within 12 hours, so we had no issues with communication. On the day of the wedding, we were asked several times if the temperature was right and if the set up looked how we envisioned. They really want the day to be perfect for you. Our guests had nothing but great things to say about The White Sparrow and it was truly a dream come true for us to get married there. Highly recommend this venue! My husband and I got married here October 18, 2015. The venue is beyond gorgeous and they gave us (at that point) freedom to have our own vendors and bring in alcohol which was a nice money saver for how expensive the venue was. We enjoyed our time there and our pictures are awesome. The day before the wedding we were sent guidelines of how to clean the barn as we had opted out of their ridiculously priced clean up package and friends/family had volunteered to help out. What we didn't know and wasn't in the contract was that they would charge us $100/minute for every minute we went over time. I thought this was extremely rude to include after we had already had a contract without this signed way beforehand. And not only that but on the wedding day, their assistant came up to the bride after family were already cleaning to offer the cleaning contract again. That's unprofessional. We all left two hours early out of fear we'd be charged extra. Beautiful venue, but the professionalism left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

I have not had an event at The White Sparrow however I was really disappointed and embarrassed by my most recent experience there. My fiancé and I, along with our families, had an appointment to tour the facility this past Wednesday. My fiancé has talked and dreamed about The White Sparrow for as long as we've been dating, so we were really excited about touring The White Sparrow as the venue for our upcoming nuptials. That experience was very shortly lived and extremely disappointing. We were given a very short tour by a man named Anthony, who was in sweats. As we were waiting by the kitchen, a lady named Nadia, one of the co-owners of The White Sparrow, appeared and acknowledged another couple who was also scheduled to tour the facility that day. She acknowledged them by saying, "Oh good, you brought your vendors with you." 'The vendors' that she was talking about were my fiancé's family as they are Hispanic. The other bride-to-be quickly told her no and looked completely embarrassed. Nadia never apologized to us at all. She completely disregarded the fact that she had just insulted my fiancé and her family by insinuating that they were the the help! read more

Marissa was our point-person the majority of the time and we were so impressed with her especially. Amazing time. The location was beautiful and secluded in huge oak trees (more intimate than city weddings). The staff was great and gave us our privacy. Taking pictures was a dream. Loved the white, it was so elegant. Not too far from Dallas but takes awhile but so worth the experience. read more
