If you have to have a colonoscopy this is the place to go. Don't dink around with your health. Get those colons checked. The Endoscopy center took great care of me during my colonoscopy. Prior to the procedure I got set up in a comfortable rolling bed and nurses made sure that I was offered warm blankets and answered all of my questions. They were attentive to all of their patients and navigated getting my ride on time without a hitch. They lose a star because of their billing department. I paid on the spot and was promised a detailed invoice to sent. to my FHA provider. This happened in June and I have had horrific problems ever since. I call on a weekly basis and leave messages but have not been provided any information or a call back. I am getting nasty emails from my credit card company and had to repay them myself and am not able to pay with pre tax dollars. I guess my next stop is the better business bureau. My advice is to refuse to pay without an invoice. read more

Everyone here form the check in attendants to the nurses to the Doctors were great. They made this experience as good as it could've been. It was actually easy. I had a really good experience here yesterday for having my first colonoscopy. The nurses, Dr and staff were all so friendly and informative. I was really nervous going in, but they put me right at ease. They said the anesthesia would be like time travel and it really was for me. I am rating this 5 stars primarily because of the excellent care I received from my pre op and recovery nurse, Allison. She is one of the most caring people I have ever dealt with, making sure I was comfortable whenever I was with her. I wish I could have cloned her! The facility seemed well run. Dr. Lajoie was efficient. I was fortunate that my procedure was done near the end of their work day so it was mostly peaceful and quiet. The "forced cleansing" was not as bad as I thought it would be. It is important to do preventative care. read more

All of the aids, nurses and other medical professionals at The Encinitas Endoscopy Center were precisely that...consummate professionals. Even though it was quite busy, I observed that every patient, myself included, received abundant personal attention. The staff were fully engaged with their assigned tasks with emphasis on preserving a relaxed, warm, welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, it is not possible for me to comment on Dr Madani procedural excellence because of the mind numbing excellence of the anesthesiologist ;) All I can say is that I awoke from the procedure feeling fine and refreshed and I have experienced no side effects in the days that followed. I had my colonoscopy yesterday 4/29/24 The experience was good everyone was professional,skilled and very nice. I was in and out of the procedure quickly and home resting within hours. I have a had a few colonoscopies and I have to say this was the worst. They quoted me an incorrect copay, which I stopped by their office to discuss (no one would answer their phones). They were super rude and wouldn't even look up from their computers when I walked in - even though I was the only person in the office. Then they proceeded to loudly discuss my private medical history. We had an audience by then because another patient had come into the office. I guess they were trying to embarrass me? They informed me I would have to pay the total amount the day of procedure or they would cancel the procedure right then. Well I had already started the prep, so I just went ahead and had the colonoscopy and paid the full amount. The lesson is to always ask for a detailed price sheet prior to any medical procedure. I've learned my lesson. In addition, the consult with the doctor, after the procedure, occurred while I was still a bit incoherent from the anesthesia - not ideal to receive important health information. No family is allowed in with you, so it's all up to you to remember. He said he recommended further testing (an MRI) and would contact me with information on that. Well guess what? He never contacted me. I feel the whole thing was a waste of time and money. They definitely have a factory set up. If you want personalized care this is not the place for you. read more

I don't know what other endoscopy/colonoscopy centers are like, but I felt like a sheep being herded as quickly as possible without much attention or care. The nurse could not adequately insert my IV so it was stinging the entire time and even though she knew this, the staff kind of shrugged their shoulders, as if to say, "you'll be under anesthesia momentarily, so you won't even notice!". Once the procedure began, I was not fully sedated and was screaming "ouch" multiple times before they stopped and gave me additional anesthesia. This extra dosage of course made it difficult for me to wake up and I felt very rushed to put my clothes back on and leave. I understand that I was sedated and my recollection of this is a blur, but I did not feel properly cared for. read more

I had a Colonoscopy completed at this facility. Billing is deceptive, predatory, and a nightmare. I was originally referred to this facility from Naval hospital Camp Pendleton and was approved by TriCare to have my Colonoscopy and upper endoscopy completed here. I did the initial referral with the Dr. LaJoie, two weeks beforehand and scheduled for my procedure. I was provided a "prescription", for some over the counter colonoscopy "prep" MiraLAX, Gatorade and was given directions on how to prepare for my procedure, which involved taking all of the nasty preparation to clean your system no eating/drinking. Needless to say, the prep work is by far the hardest part of the procedure. On the morning of the procedure, I checked into the clinic and was told that my driver (husband) could not be in the office (COVID protocol). I was then informed that my primary insurance would cover everything except the last $954.00. I Informed them that I was referred by TRICARE so my co-pay should only be $32 dollars. She replied that the procedure would not be covered by TRICARE? I tried to dispute it and she would not budge at all. Ms. Donna Valverde then demanded immediate full payment of $954.00 right then and there or they would not be doing the procedure. I asked for my Husband to come in so we could discuss, and it and they said he was not allowed inside. So, there I am bright in early in the morning, having been up all night on the toilet "prepping" not being able to eat or drink so I can complete the procedure and the clinic is telling me that I either pay up right now or I won't get the procedures. It was a complete bait and switch, and they knew very well that they had me over a barrel. I finally relented and provided a credit card so that I could get it over with. My other option was to say no and then have to redo all the preparation and trouble again! I did tell them that they were to bill TRICARE so that I could then talk with Tricare to get that part of the payment taken care of. I saw that my primary insurance bill was settled within two weeks. When I talked with the clinic, they told me that they had not received any of that payment yet. Once I told them I can see that the bill has been paid to them and they can now bill TRICARE they said they would get right on it. Now it's been over a month and they said they billed TRICARE, NOPE! I just called Tricare and no one has tried to bill them for the procedure. THESE PEOPLE JUST DON'T CARE! I'm not sure why they don't want to bill TRICARE, but it might be because they might have to accept less money or now that we have already paid them cash, they have no urgency or incentive to do it right. Ms. Donna Valverde stated " TRICARE OFTEN DOES NOT PAY CLAIMS". Stay far away from this place, it is not worth your time, energy, or peace of mind to constantly haggle and fight over bills for procedures that should have been covered and for them to take advantage at the last possible minute when you are tired, thirsty, hungry and have anxiety over the procedure. The way they left me stranded at the last second before the procedure and demanded payment or all my preparation would have been for nothing is UNCONSCIONABLE. read more

Had my colonoscopy here two days ago. Everyone was professional and kind the moment I walked in starting with Nancy at the front desk. Michelle was my nurse who put me at ease and explained everything that was about to happen. I was wheeled into the room and met the dr, where I made some seinfeld jokes, like hes never heard that 1000 times. I told him I did not want a lot of anesthesia as Im super sensitive to drugs. They happily obliged. Colonoscopys are not generally a painful procedure, in fact its mostly only here in the US where people prefer to go under. Why take that unnecessary risk? I was lightly sedated and awake for the whole procedure. I was able to watch on the monitor and ask questions. So interesting! Gratefully my colon is healthy! No polyps and good for 7 years. I remember everything. Definitely recommend the light sedation. Dr Delauro was kind and personable. Definitely recommend him. The nurse calls the next day to ck on on you. Thats a lot of calls he or she has to make. The prep the night before is the worst part of this procedure, but hey you lose a few lbs. This type of cancer is so preventable, its a no brainer, so go get your colonoscopy! read more

I had a bad experience with a nurse on the phone. I contacted the center and an administrator called me when I had not even given my PH # on the complaint , I asked to emailed . She just gave excuses and actually said we have to make 100 of these calls a day , you may have been the 99 th call. REALLY ! The call was at 11:40am and I don't care if your the first call or the 100 , that does not excuse rudeness. Cancelled my procedures and going elsewhere. What if I'm the 50th patient of the day , do I get less care , or compassion from a nurse ,because I wasn't the first 5 and she is tired? Poor excuses .... read more
