I have been working with Tatiana for about a year now, and I can only report great experiences…read more From what I know the Hendrickson method is a revolutionary method itself in the field of orthopedic and recovery bodywork, but in addition to that Tatiana applies it with much skill, intuition and empathy. The most amazing part of it is that one can experience results (positive changes) immediately. When I say immediately I mean even within one session. I had an old rotator cuff injury, which had healed long ago, but there was a reduction in range of motion ever since. Within the first hour of treatment about 80% of the range was regained. Tatiana also found remnants (muscle scar tissue) of a childhood injury that I have long forgotten, and she worked out the old scar tissue, creating a change that is hard to describe but in summary made movements more fluent and easy. The most noticeable thing that sets Tatiana apart from other practitioners I worked with, is what I think they call "quality of touch". While she's adjusting muscles and joints with confidence and in a very energetic and way, it yet feels gentle and receptive to feedback and applies immediate adjustment in intensity if needed. The other unique quality of her approach is that she doesn't only provide treatment, but at the same time teaches exercises that I could continue doing at home at my own pace (and no extra charge!). Altogether, It has been a great experience, a progress that I couldn't imagine both in speed and extent. I even make that old man grunt when I have to reach down and (attempt to) touch my toes. I have the legs of Lance Armstrong and the lower back of Abe Vigoda. As all men do in desperation, I decided to take the advice of my wife. She told me to attend Marie's bootcamp that has the deceptively mild name Wee Fit. Marie is not your typical fitness instructor with supernatural looking biceps. She has given her workout regimens (that includes pilates) allot of thought. She certainly has intuited all of my physical deficiencies (did I already mention that a large portion of my body was channeling Abe Vigoda?). For those of us who need work (or repair or tuning up), Marie is the cure - tough medicine for sure, but she can take a disparate group of fitness levels and give them all a good measure of intelligently applied hell. Luckily for her students, she advertises little so the classes are small. She watches you carefully for good form and seems to intuitively know how much pain to apply. She can give all body types and ages a good whipping but she makes sure the workout is intelligently paced and good medicine regardless of where your fitness level is at. In other words, her bootcamp (and pilates) is not one of those "do fifty push ups or get the spiked heel in the face" workouts, but it is certainly plenty for me. I am so glad I selected Pro+Kinetix and was well worth the drive for me. Dr. Emma helped my ankle immensely, and I learned so much from her. I recently completed a trip abroad and did major hiking and cobblestone walking in sandals and did not get another injury, which felt inevitable. This is a credit to her! She is super knowledgeable about all parts of the body, but seems to also be a real expert and very skilled in feet and ankles. Dr. Emma was also motivating, but never made me feel bad when I didn't accomplish all of my at-home exercises. She is so friendly and personable and I looked forward to seeing her. You can tell she really cares about her patients and is putting her all into every visit. She is always prompt and prepared. Logistics: because Pro-Kinetix has great admin support, scheduling was not that big of an issue. They have a good system, so I didn't have to wait that long (compared to most places) to get in to see the doctor, and they schedule you pretty far out from there- so you can be sure to see your doctor at whatever cadence is needed. They also keep a waitlist and timely text every time an opening comes up. The billing process outside of insurance was super painless. You just download a form from their website and submit the reimbursement request (if your insurance allows it). I was always able to get a spot right in front in the mornings, but they also have their own validated parking lot behind the building, which is really appreciated in this busy area of Oakland so you don't have to circle for a spot. I highly recommend Pro-Kinetix Physical Therapy, it's worth the expense to heal your injury right and efficiently the first time. I feel better knowing that they exist in case I ever have another issue in the future, I will know who to call.

Can't say enough great things about Dr Kelvin! I first booked the checkup after several months of…read morelower back pain from a tweak during deadlifts. During this time I put as little strain and exercise on my back as possible because I didn't want to strain it again, which turned out was the wrong thing to do. In our first meeting, he was quick to diagnose that it was most likely a muscle strain and not a hernia or spine problem, and he started me on small strengthening exercises to get the muscle moving again and blood flow to the area. Over the next couple weeks, we progressed to light squat and deadlift exercises again, and my back felt considerably better. After a few sessions, I tweaked my back again when I foolishly decided to lift too heavy, and Dr Kelvin helped me work through the strain with more core strengthening exercises and light workouts. After 6 sessions I feel better than ever, with the pain lessening by the day! I'm going back to the gym on a regular basis and starting to play sports again too, which I thought would be nearly impossible due to the pain back then.
