OMG!! This place is soooooo much fun that we did it twice on the same day! The first crew - Connor and Luke - hooked us up with a couple of jail cells. The second crew - Steven, The Chad, and Autumn, had us looking for gold. This was our first (and second) ever experience with escape rooms. They denied it but we know that Connor and Autumn were in the "control room" rolling on the floor with laughter! They really should record and sell the "adventure" as part of the experience. We would've paid $$$ for the video because we know we were hilarious to watch!! Anyway, both crews were fabulous and the experience was awesome! Recently stopped by with a group of 4 (and 4 others who weren't part of the original group) to do the "Timeliner: Train Through Time" room. This wasn't my first room with The Escape Game (and certainly won't be my last). I've also done the "Special Ops: Mysterious Market" and "Gold Rush" rooms which were spectacular. The most recent room, however, had one minor issue which slightly soured the experience. One particular puzzle, without giving too much away, heavily relied on a single act of dexterity. With the correct solution in mind, our group spent 10+ minutes and had 4 different people attempt to perform the action without any luck. Though the game's operator did eventually move us on, it still felt a bit strange that an escape room would have such a task. Besides that, though, The Escape Game has always been a wonderful place for escape rooms with amazing decor and fun/approachable puzzles. Would recommend checking it out! read more

My friends and I had a lot of fun playing the "Nashville" room at The Escape Game Nashville. With several escape room rookies on our team of six, we still managed to beat the room in only 42 minutes 11 seconds (17 minutes 49 seconds left on the clock). I thought that was impressive considering this room was rated a "7/10" difficulty by the company. The Escape Game is an escape room chain with several locations around the country including Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Minneapolis, and Orlando. There are two locations in Nashville: (1) the Berry Hill location in South Nashville which opened in 2014 and (2) this newer location in downtown Nashville which opened in 2015. Surface lot parking is available adjacent to this location, but it's not free. We took Uber, but we should have taken Lyft because The Escape Game partnered with Lyft to offer discounts. The Nashville room was the 55th escape room I've played since I started playing escape rooms in 2014. So, I have a lot of rooms to compare Nashville to. Honestly, over the years, a lot of the rooms have started blending together for me. Generally speaking, I thought the Nashville room was solidly built. The quality of the construction and the props were good to very good. The room is made to look like a music producer's office and music studio, so there are musical instruments, speakers and sound equipment, a recording booth, and more. It's pretty cool. As far as the game design, I thought the clues and riddles were fair and they flowed well. There was a decent story and objective: you and your teammates are a band who have to find the producer's one last contract. Out of the dozens of rooms I've played, I give credit to the Nashville room for being unique. It's the first and so far only music-themed escape room I've played. A couple other rooms here, The Heist and Prison Break, are more generic. Other escape room companies offer similar-themed rooms. Nashville is one-of-a-kind in this regard. Aside from that, nothing about the Nashville experience made it stand out from many of the other rooms I've done. For example, there was no memorable, ingenious puzzle or some sort of dramatic or unforgettable moment. It was simply a fun room, which in my experience, most escape rooms are. The Escape Game Nashville's rate is $31.99 plus tax per person to play one room. This worked out to be $35 per person for our group. To date, it's the most expensive escape room I've played. I've paid $30 and up for several rooms, but the majority I've played have been under $30 whether it be a business' regular rate or a discounted rate through something like Groupon. At the time of writing this review, I've paid an average of $20.15 per room for 56 rooms including this one. If you don't fully book all slots in a room, there's a chance you'll be teamed up with someone you don't know. Apart from the high price when compared to other escape room games, I did find The Escape Game Nashville to be enjoyable and recommend it for any group (friends, family, coworkers) looking for a fun activity to do. I have done 3 escape games now, all downtown. I was able to escape from Prison Break, The Heist, and Timeliner. I cannot wait to come back and do Gold Rush too. The staff were so nice, and checking in was super easy. We purchased the tickets online ahead of time. This is a great group activity. Obviously parking downtown is tricky and can be costly. This is my 2000th review! The Escape Game was my first Escape Room, ever! And it will not be my last one. This was incredible fun! The puzzle we chose was "Nashville" and no, I won't be giving any secrets out. But let's just say, Pay attention to everything, Look for clues everywhere, and you'll get out. We did it with 13 minutes to spare, and that says a lot about the team work used, considering it only took us 15 minutes to get out of the first room. The event space is clean, neat and well designed. The story and theming is well done, something that is VERY important for a suspension of disbelief as you work through your puzzle and get to the bottom of the mystery scenario. When you escape, you are Gifted with the black "I ESCAPED" bumper sticker.. A badge of honor among puzzle players. It made me happy! read more
