Dr. Risch is amazing! I could not be happier with my vision after having cataract surgery. Dr. Risch and The Eye Center team were fantastic from start to finish. I was fitted with multi-focal lenses and for the first time in 50 years (since I was 8 years old) I do not need glasses or contacts. While I have complete trust in The Eye Center, I am one of the few who didn't have the outcome that I expected. I opted for multifocal lenses with my cataract surgeries so that I would be able to see at the 3 distances in both eyes without needing glasses. (3 x 2 = 6) Now, about 2 years later, I am wearing glasses that correct for 5 out of the 6 distances which is disappointing and not what I paid for. read more

My first couple of years with Dr Langston were very satisfactory. Then, during the next few years, there were nearly hour-long waits for no apparent reason and many of the technicians were trained to do one procedure and then would pass the patient along the conveyor belt to the next technician. They were often crabby no matter how much I tried to engage them. Approximately a year ago my cataracts were removed by Dr. Toller. During the preparatory appointments I made it clear to him that I wanted to maintain my near vision and he assured me that he would honor that. Despite my repeated requests to keep my near vision he planted generic mid vision lenses and now I am unable to read lifesaving directions on prescriptions and all types of products. Reading glasses (readers) and my prescription glasses do not correct the problem. I think the EYE CENTER probably works for routine eye care, but stay away for cataracts. I recommend HENRY Eye Clinic for thorough, professional, friendly care. read more

Dr. Taylor does not rush you and really takes the time with you to document all your symptoms and think about what will be the best treatment for you. The wait can be a bit long but feel like it is worth it for me and I travel nearly an hour to come here. For some who are on a very tight schedule it could be a problem though. I did feel like there are a lot of young staff working for the doctors. I wish the staff were more varied in age with more experience. In the eye glass area 'Daniel' is the best! He really worked with me on getting my glasses made right and was just a nice bright spot to my day! read more

Eye Center staff and Dr. Schaefer have been great. Taking time to explain things thoroughly. However, the billing department and scheduling is terrible. alot of times they are running late for appts. The Eye Center "changed" computer systems for billing and front desk couldn't see balance when I paid in full the next visit. They then turned me over to collection agency. When I called the office they were polite, but not sorry for their mistake/change. I will find another Dr. due to this billing issue and lack of customer service. read more

I had my cataracts removed by Dr Risch. he was very nice at first appt, assured me that he could do exactly what I wanted. 3 yrs later I'm still having trouble, light sensitivity, pain in both eyes. I have to have two pair of glasses to see and read, I've had my prescription changed once because he missed the fact that I had astigmatism also. plus he was very rude and uncaring when I told him the. anesthesia from first eye made me slightly nauseated and could I have a different one. not only did he give me the same med, but I woke up during the second surgery and he refused to put me under again. let me tell you, having cataracts zapped while you are awake is not pleasant. II've since met another patient who had the same exp with him. I do not recommend this clinic and will never go back. read more

I had surgery with Dr. Smith there back in the summer. That worked out fine. But I had waited a long time for my eye to heal so I could get an appointment with Dr. Shaver and TWICE in 2018 I have been stopped at the front desk and never got to see Dr. Shaver. I was told my Medicare and Medicaid would not allow for me to see him for an eye exam since I did not have a "medical need". I have dry eye and had surgery earlier this year, so I DO have medical needs, but I was told that I needed to pay up front before I could see the doctor. I have never had to pay for a yearly eye exam. I walked out without seeing Dr. Shaver, went right up the road to my previous eye doctor, was seen the same day, within the hour and walked out with my eye exam completed and it was completely covered by my insurance! I would not send my dog to The Eye Center, as the front desk and office manager have not a clue what they are doing! I feel sorry those who do not question these practices. read more

Even though it was sick & dead & I hadn't seen anything out of it in 5 years & it needed to come out, I was scared & very anxious & Leary about the surgery! He was Great--From beginning to end! I saw Dr. Kellye Smith for cataract evaluation and subsequent lens replacement. I can see better now than I ever have in my life. Dr. Smith is very friendly, but she does seem to be a little hurried. I did not expect to pay a copay for surgery follow-up visits, but is charged. But the main thing is, I can see! The other are just minor issues. The one star has nothing to do with their COVID-19 procedures. If you're not a retired adult with tons of time on your hands, don't even bother making an appointment here. This is the second year in a row that I've waited over 45 minutes after my nurse dilated and numbed my eyes before I saw my eye doctor. When I inquired why it took so long, the doctor told me they were short staffed and behind. Okay, why didn't the nurse tell me this? Then, he gave me, a college educated adult some "advice." To paraphrase his advice, "Morning times are really popular so we get behind and after lunch is popular so we get behind." Okay, so when would you suggest I make an appointment for? Evening? Your office isn't open in the evening and if it was, that would also be a popular time. While I was in today, I had planned on talking with the women in charge of assisting with ordering contacts but everything else took so long that she was gone to lunch and a meeting. The only reason that I wanted time meet with her is because I called her a month and a half ago and left a voicemail (because she was out to lunch) and I never received a response. I do want to compliment the nurses. They are nice and assisted me in getting paper copies of prescriptions and my bill. Despite the nice nurses, I'm currently looking at other doctors within my network under my insurance. read more

I have gone to The Eye Center for 6 years now....and they have been awful these last couple years. The ladies that work there are nothing but rude, and even after being a customer for so long they are so unwilling to work with you. I've went in to pick up contacts that are ready to be picked up and then when I get there they accused me of not even receiving a phone call about my contacts. They "looked" around and couldn't find them anywhere....annoyed because I have to drive over on my lunch break to the other side of town and they couldn't find them I got a call right after I left and they had found them. No apology or anything! I will never EVER go back to the eye center, I can find somewhere else to take my business that will have much better customer service. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more
