My wife purchased for me gift of a massage "60 minute trigger point massage" by Emilie and Jenna. I called them several times at 513-332-3512 and always got their voicemail. After leaving several messages, I received a text back from either Emilie or Jenna. Apparently they work for a chiropractor and do the massage on the side are only in the Milford office one or two days per week. After several texts back and forth (no phone calls, oddly enough), I was able to make an appointment at their Milford office (as described in the Groupon coupon) several WEEKS out on Friday. I had a work meeting that day but I rescheduled it to keep the massage appointment. I showed up fifteen minutes early for my appointment as these planes typically have paperwork to be filled out. After fifteen minutes of being ignored, someone finally told me that my massage therapist wasn't coming in and was cancelling my appointment. They claimed that they did not have my phone number, even though we texted back and forth several times. I called to reschedule the massage but none of my phone calls were returned. What a big waste of time and a rip off! UPDATE: They still have not called me to reschedule, to apologize or to refund the money. read more

I really enjoyed my facial and massage by Chelsea. She did a great job and was highly professional. Even my husband enjoyed his session with Haven. I would totally come back here but I don't know if I will because we left smelling like cigarette smoke on our clothes. Yes, it's a little spot in Milford but it's a great little place! If you don't live close by, plan to make a day of it. It's a sweet little area full of antique shops, gift shops, a coffee shop, donut shop, cupcake chop, chocolate shop, bars, bistros and even a little place to have a proper tea! I've used a Groupon and a Living Social promo and have learned that if can get the same price next time without using a promo. That's great! I've had the dermaplaning and the chemical peel with a massage added. Kathy is great! I love her massages, the hot, moist towels at the end are a great touch. This time, I also added a Shellac manicure for only $25! Such a great way to spend some much anticipated ME time! After my skin was sloughed, muscles massaged, and nails perfectly polished I headed out to the shops. My idea of a perfect day! The place seemed nice online and I couldn't believe the deal when I saw it on Groupon for 65. Lesson learned...you get what you pay for. First off, it was very uncomfortable because you're only separated with a curtain. It was not relaxing at all because I could hear their answering machine constantly. I scheduled my massage for Saturday, May 11th, Happy Mother's Day to me. Since their Milford location is closed I was given the option of going to their west side location on Glenway or 8075 Reading Road. I chose the Reading road location because it's closer to me. When I spoke with Emilie she told me it was located across from the Carousel Inn and not to far from the Galbraith intersection. I am familiar with that street easily found the business strip next to the PNC back. The business strip has addresses 8020 - 8080. Easy peasy right? Not so much. I find the strip of business labeled 8070 way in the back. There addresses go from 8070-1 to 8070-9. Now it may be me but 8070-5 was a construction company. Maybe I was in the wrong location. I would love to reschedule if that's the case. I'd hate for my sister to lose her money on this, not to mention mama needs a massage. It'd be nice to know if anyone else has actually been to the Reading road location. read more

I have had the pleasure of visiting the Face Place for massage, facial (the Groupon special) and waxing service (not all at once) and I cannot speak highly enough of the facility and the staff. If you need to relax, get a facial (hey, guys do it too - it's 2016) or get some "fur" removed before it's bathing suit season, be sure to make an appointment. Purchased a Groupon for a 90 minute couples massage & facial. It was very relaxing & the masseuse did a great job. She even gave me helpful tips on how to loosen muscles & some facial care tips. They use support pillows for your knees & feet while laying on back & stomach, which was nice. They also provide you with a cloth headband to put around your head while doing the facial so nothing gets in your hair. The massage table was nice & warm. I felt the music was just right, the perfect volume, nice & relaxing. It is located in a group of businesses & the sign isn't that large, so if I were to be just driving by, I probably wouldn't have noticed it was even there. While sitting in the waiting area, they do have a Keurig you can use. The place seemed clean, however I do feel it could improve on decor & maybe have some type of aromatherapy in the massage room, which isn't a complaint, just constructive criticism. When I pay 130 dollars for 2 massages, I expect them to be amazing. I've had about 30 other massages from different places in the last 8 months where I paid far less and received a much better service. When I get a massage, I'm there to relax. That's tough to do when you're constantly hearing about your masseuse's personal life and being asked countless questions. The first one I chalked up to it being her birthday and her being quite excited, nonetheless, there's a time for work, and a time for play. The experience itself was decent but the massage wasn't the best I've ever had. The people were friendly and spent a lot of time with me and told me about all of the products. I used the living social deal and added a few things on. HOWEVER the entire place smelled like cigarettes and was not clean. I currently smell like an ashtray and I'm allergic to cigarette smoke so my eyes are now burning and I've been coughing since I left. I even came to my mom's after and she said "ew why do you smell like cigarettes?!?!". I don't like that I left feeling grungy but if a massage therapist smelling like cigarettes is relaxing to you then I would recommend this place. If I could give Crystal and the Face Place 5 stars I would. I had the 90 minute Ultimate Beauty Relaxation Package which I purchased Living Social and it was worth every single penny. The treatment consisted of a facial and full body massage. I have had a lot of full body massages and a few facials at other salons and this was by far the best combination. Crystal's hands were amazing and I she had perfect timing. The products she used were great and my skin feels and looks amazing. I was hesitant about receiving a 90 minute treatment as my mind tends to wonder during long treatments but not with this one. The treatment and atmosphere was so relaxing I was able to enjoy every second. I highly recommend a 90 minute massage and facial with Crystal. I purchased a Groupon certificate for a massage/facial combo, and called the same day to make my appointment. I never had an issue getting a hold of someone, I even called the morning of my appointment to confirm my time and reached someone immediately. The location is a little difficult to find, but I did find it without a problem and I have a terrible sense of direction. The inside is not your typical spa, it looks like it's an old house that has been converted. It's obvious they did their best to encourage a tranquil atmosphere with some fountains and other decorations. I was shown to my room and I was a little surprised that I was put in a room with two massage tables, but I found everything to be clean. The sheets were fine, no wrinkling or stains like another reviewer stated. I enjoyed my facial, I never felt like I was being sold products. If anything I wish she would have explained more about what she was using, since I was interested in a couple of the products. My extractions were practically painless, more so than any other facial I've had at much more upscale spa's, but I left feeling like she did a really great job. The massage was nothing to write home about, but I'm generally happy with anyone rubbing my back so I can't complain too much. I doubt I will go back since it's a little out of the way for me, and I didn't leave feeling like I just had a visit to the spa like I was hoping. Atmosphere is a key part of the experience for me, and honestly nothing here did it for me. The music wasn't the typical relaxation music, the decor was kind of awful, the bedding used on the massage table was floral which really bothered me for some reason. Also, I feel like a facial and massage should be a sensory experience, but they don't even use scented massage oil. Well it is almond scented, but I don't mean that as a good thing. Yes this is in a house in Milford. The price is right for what you get. Price meaning Groupon price. Kathy did my massage. She was extremely firm. The options on the page were light firm or deep tissue. I selected firm because I didnt want to not feel like I didnt get a massage but I should have selected light. They have tried their best to make it seem like a spa but I would change some of the decor to more clean simple things. I would just use white bedding etc because it is very dated. I purchased a Living Social Promo, Got a massage and facial and added the microdermabrasion. It was the worst experience ever. Chelsea was the esthetician. The massage was OK, very light, but relaxing. She did my facial followed by the microderm. When she did the microderm it hurt quite a bit. I had to tell her to turn down the intensity a few times. When she was done it felt raw.The light was dimmed so I couldn't see my face. She told me there was a few light lines on my face, but they would be gone by tonight. I checked out, tipped her, went to my car and looked in the mirror and cried. There was deep red blood suction looking lines all over my face. I went back in to tell her that she lied about the way my face looked, and she continued to tell me it's normal to look like that and it would be gone in the morning. It took over a week to be able to hide with make up, but I still have blotchy spots that I have been getting treatment for. I had use ointment that Plastic Surgeons use after deep laser treatments. I called the Company the next day, talked to the manager who was very apologetic and happily refunded my money. I'm sure there are other professionals there that are competent. At 12:30 they took me back and had me change and began the facial. She reeked of cigarettes. After five minutes someone knocked and said my appointment wasn't until the next day. I told her we even called and confirmed. she replied "I don't care, you are wrong, you have to leave I have another appointment. I even spoke to the manager who was extremely rude as well. They all sit outside and smoke between clients, even saw the receptionist outside smoking while on the phone taking an appointment (probably why she can't even complete the simple task of booking an appointment). I purchased a Groupon for a massage and facial combo. It was a good price and Groupon suggested leaving a generous tip afterward. I did this, actually left a $20 tip for the hour and a half service. So why two stars you ask? Well, I was escorted into the treatment room and shown where I should change. The treatment table had sheets on it that looked questionable at best. Wrinkled as though they were dragged out of the bottom of a closet, yuck. I proceeded to change and climb onto the table all ready for my relaxation to begin...WRONG! The owner came in to begin the facial and literally did not stop talking for the entire hour and a half. I had tensed up a bit during this process and she commented on the tension in my shoulders . Ummm, please just stop yammering away and maybe I could relax, I thought! And she talked about HERSELF the entire time. I may have nodded off during the massage, not sure but Ii was ready to bolt out of there. I'm not a therapist but she seemed to think I was one and perhaps she should see one. It's where they take a razor and scrape it all over your face to remove the top nasty layer of dead skin and 'lil hairs. Might sound scary, but it doesn't hurt at all. My face feels smoother than a baby's butt. Maybe they saw the negative reviews and made some changes. Either way, this place is unbelievable and I will be returning often. I'm sure this saved her time, but her time should not have been an issue. The therapist constantly talked, bumped the table, dropped things and generally "harshed my mellow". My boyfriend got me the living social/groupon deal for the Ultimate Beauty Package (1.5 hour massage and facial) for my birthday. I called to schedule my appointment and easily got in at a time that would work for me and was very excited to have these treatments done. On the day of my appointment I arrived about 15 minutes prior so that I would have time to fill out the paperwork. I went to the door and it was locked and the business looked like it was closed for the day. I went around to the front door and fortunately the girl that was to provide the service came out of the house next door and let me in. She gave me the paperwork and asked if I knew that I needed to drink a lot of water after the massage and then proceeded to tell me they did not have any water currently to offer me. I thought this was kind of weird to tell me to drink water and then not have any to provide. I have never been to another spa where they do not immediately offer you water, but I brushed that off. The treatment room was fine, nothing special. Blackout curtains or sound proofed windows would have been nice since it's along a main road, but it was as expected for a spa that is in an older house. The treatment began with the facial and this is where the real annoyance started. The girl would not stop talking. I tried to give minimal responses and just close my eyes and relax but every time she got uncomfortable with the silence she would just start talking about anything and everything. Not relaxing at all. She told me all about how the steam machine for the facials doesn't always work and then it broke down. Which would have been fine if she just hadn't talked about it so much and emphasized that negative aspect. She also talked all about the road noise and the neighbor (who had slammed the door mid treatment). I didn't know how to tell her not to talk so I just gave in eventually and resigned myself to the fact that this would not be a zen spa experience I had hoped for. The girl also told me she was not a licensed estitician but was the only licensed medical massage therapist in the place. She said it was a good thing I didn't need any extractions done because she didn't do them. Also she was so busy talking the whole time that I felt like she wasn't really focusing on the massage. She didn't even really work on the area where I needed it most. Overall it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. The one positive was that the products used during the facial really did seem to help my skin already so that is good. Based on the reviews here it seems like they treat customers that purchase full price services much better than those with a groupon/living social deal. This is not a good policy as many people try out new things with a groupon to determine whether or not the full price options will be worth it. read more

Horrible!!! I hope I catch you before you purchase your Groupon. Where do I begin? The room was filthy. Cobwebs all over the ceiling. The carpet was nasty & there was a skanky looking hotel quilt over the bed I was to lay on. I pulled back the quilt and was surprised with dingy wrinkly sheets. The pillow for under my head was stuffed under the bed on the floor. The girl who did my facial, April...wasn't even licensed. Though she said she would be on the 29th. But she proudly exclaimed she was licensed to do nails. Really? The massage therapist, Autumn, I question too. She did not stop talking!!! She had me feeling so bad about myself by the time she left the room. She only did half of my massage because she said the owner wanted her to meet new clients. So she left me alone in the room after having 1/2 of my massage until April came in. That was about 15 min. The music had since stopped playing. I was left to be grossed out as I kept busy counting cobwebs on the ceiling. April came in & knew right away she had no clue about what she was doing. And again, NON-STOP talking!!!
