My daughter went to The Facemaker Salon in Huntsville, Texas to get her highlights touched up at the roots, and to get a slight trim before leaving on vacation the next day. The stylist that had cut and highlighted her hair previously was booked, so she made an appointment with another stylist by the name of Jamie Madlock. I was beyond shocked when my daughter called me sobbing. Jamie Madlock, the stylist who claimed to have over 30 years of experience cutting and coloring hair, had completely ruined my daughter's long, blond tresses. Her hair was entirely over-processed after sitting under a dryer for OVER AN HOUR, to the point that it was breaking off in clumps, as Jamie Madlock removed the highlighting foils. She then proceeded to cut...and cut...and cut... Several hours later, my daughter walked out of The Facemaker Salon sobbing, with a chopped-up version of a pixie cut. I don't ever leave bad reviews, but Jamie Madlock repeatedly tried to blame the previous Facemaker stylist (and her co-worker) for the catastrophe that she caused. You should be ashamed of yourself, Jamie Madlock. Take responsibility for YOUR actions, and PLEASE, update your cosmetology skills and get some professional development classes before you wreck another person's hair. read more

This salon, is a very very, very beautiful place. However. I think we can all agree that if a parent is clearly forcing their child to chop off all of their hair... Don't help that client. Don't be what ruins, another relationship between parents and children. And I can promise you half of the hairstylist. I've talked to you about this, have agreed that if a parent is clearly trying to discipline their child with a haircut... It's not worth getting the money for. read more

Did not see the purpose in making an appointment to only be sitting for a whole hour after my designated appointment time, before even being asked if I had been helped. The front persons response... "I'm sorry, we normally close at 2 so that's probably why you were waiting so long..." MIND YOU, I called the morning of to confirm that the time was still at 3! Appointments should be made accordingly, or at THE VERY LEAST call the client to give them notice on running behind or to reschedule. I came here on the referral of a friend of mine. My hair is dark brown, but I wanted to be blonde for summer. I showed the stylist a light blonde color baylage. When she was through I was just as brunette as when I came in with a few light streaks in my hair. I look like I'm turning gray or something. My kids even said, "Mom, you look like a Grandma." I told the stylist she didn't do what I asked. She said she couldn't have done it in one session, and that I would have to come in multiple times to get the color I want. THEN, she overcharged me $45 extra for a color that I didn't even want. I told her I should only pay minimum since she didn't even do what I asked. She simply told me I owed $160. She never offered a discount to come in a second time. Nothing. I'm sorry but that's not the way to treat customers. I won't be back. read more

This is the 2nd consecutive time I have had to wait 10+ minutes just to check out downstairs. Aside from the exorbitant $20 price tag for a mere 10 minute hair trim, I was left alone by the register, downstairs after concluding my latest hair cut for 10 minutes with another waiting client. There was absolutely no one downstairs to deliver any sort of customer service or to ring me up. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last two months (my last two hair cuts). The 1st time I let it slide, although I was left ignored for 15 minutes by two other downstairs employees while I impatiently tapped my fingers at the front register waiting to check out and eventually gave up, succumbing to just sliding $20 dollars under the keyboard and leaving out the front door without anyone coming to ring me up; this most recent 2nd time, however, warrants a bad review, if this happens a third time, Facemaker will most certainly lose my business. I am leaving a 2nd star only because Jordan does a great job of cutting my hair when she is available, and has never left me hanging up at the register after finishing my cut unlike my last two visits. read more

This is a great salon, and Debra is an excellent hairdresser. I moved to Huntsville two years ago after having two hairdressers in 25 years. I tried several hairdressers but was not satisfied with either cut or color or both. I then did my research and that led me to Debra, a highly experienced hairdresser and a master at color. In two years I have never had a bad cut or color. She cuts my husband's hair as well, he is extremely picky, but he too has been happy with her services. If anyone has had a bad experience, I would bet that they aren't happy with anyone, because this one is a gem! read more

To start off this place is a hit and miss. Make sure when you call that you ask for someone with EXPERIENCE, because they will stick you with someone that's not. There's a girl named Maddi there that does phenomenal, and I love her but unfortunately I wasn't able to get her and they stuck me with someone that had only been there a month and upstairs in a strange area. I just needed my roots touched up and a trim and I left there with different color roots and my hair trimmed unevenly. Then you get charged a crazy amount, which I'm not opposed to paying when it's with somebody that's really great. I just recommend really reading up on the hairstylist and making sure that you're with someone that's been there a while. read more

The salon is super cute and I got in for my appointment on time. I got a trim with layers cut on my dry hair. My girl did a great job with it and she styled it as well for $35. The ONLY thing I would change is the lack on conversation. It's odd enough coming to a new salon, but when you just sit there without speaking to the hair dresser, it gets super awkward. I would've enjoyed some small talk throughout my haircut. read more

Still can't get it right. I took in a photo and Debbie is the one who cut the hair of the person in the photo. She butchered my hair and it looks nothing like the picture. I said as much and she argued with me pulling my hair out and saying it's even. Even wasn't the issue. I will never return. Not the first time a stylist there has messed up my hair. I just thought if I went to the stylist who did my friend's hair and asked for the same cut, that I would get it. read more

Great place over all just needs something soft to place to set your neck on then just some hard plastic but I give a 4.7

My stylist was definitely distracted. She kept making comments about how I was her last client and then she got to go home. I have naturally curly hair but it's also very thick. The first time I got my hair cut super short (by someone else) my curls were still good and my hair wasn't bell shaped because the stylist spent her time making sure it would lay right. This stylist at Facemaker didn't want to spend anytime on my hair and picked it up in fistfuls and yanked the thinning shears through all of my hair. She didn't seem to want to spend her time and as a result of how rough she was with my hair it was breaking off for a week after she cut my hair. She didn't use a heat protectant before she used a blow dryer and a straightener on my hair. I NEVER put heat on my hair so I was shocked she was doing that. I cowash my hair to keep my curls healthy and the products that she used on my scalp dried it out and made it very irritated. Now my curls have lost their structure and my hair is breaking off at the ends. The ambience was nice but the experience was horrible. read more

Lyndsay just does good hair, y'all. She comes from a long line of top-notch hairdressers and keeps up with all the latest trends and developments. She's also very skilled in keeping me on the straight and narrow when my ideas get a little too creative - my loving husband doesn't even get twitchy on hair day anymore because he knows Lyndsay will be there to gently but firmly help me make the best decision for me and my hair. She's all the sprinkles on the cookies, the shiny, happy joy that smooths the rough edges off the world. I love her beautiful inquisitive mind. We have church every time I see her. My soul is just as refreshed as my head when I leave there. I truly love Lyndsay and consider her a dear friend as much as the bestest HairFairy on the planet. read more

Never been to this salon until recently ( May ). I had a bad experience at a previous salon and needed to my hair fixed quick and to be done the way i had originally wanted it. I had an appointment with Jewlia. As soon as I got there she was ready. She made great conversation with me, and made me feel comfortable!! While doing my hair she gave me great hair tips to keep my hair healthy!! When she finished the ending product was perfect and it was exactly what i asked her to do!! For a business that operates on appointments, I did not appreciate arriving on time for my appointment only to be told the person who was scheduled to cut my hair wasn't there, and there wasn't another appointment available for 2 1/2 hours. I had my hair highlighted and it was probably the worse experience I have had. I am having to have what it ought was just going to be normal blonde highlight fixed, my hair has turned yellow and I look like I have 2 sunk stripes going through my hair. And some of the fools bleed. The stylist kept telling my how she was doing me a favor by staying late. And you could tell she was defiantly concerned with other things. I defiantly will not be back anytime soon. read more
