I called the shop on a Friday afternoon and was able to get a spot later on the same day. I don't remember the artists name, but she was Latino and tattooed upstairs. As far as the tattoo goes, it was exactly what I wanted, maybe even better. Pain was minimal. Tattoo healed fast, not blown out, clear, minimal fall out, no touch ups required right now. Price was very reasonable. Tip your artists guys. I even fell asleep through half of the tattoo. Great job! read more

I went here on a recommendation from friends. I was really happy with the service I received--friendly, professional, casual. The person who pierced me was still in training, but her supervisor said he was basically useless. She just went about her business, stopping before crucial no-turning-back-now moments to consult with him. He would say "yep" or "looks good" and she would continue. She chatted with me to put me at ease, answered all my questions (both curious and serious), and gave me great aftercare instructions. The space is great. The private piercing and tattoo area is upstairs, and downstairs is the consultations, clothing and accessory shop, and art gallery. Great place to get a tattoo can't wait to go back. Also has an Art Studio with some unique art on the lower level. If I wasn't getting a tattoo I would have picked up a couple pieces. On one of those spur the moment I decided to get my first tattoo while on vacation from Ottawa and have no regrets. I did some research and The Fall was the best rated shop in the area we were staying and I have able to get an appointment 2 days later. Unfortunately there systems were down so I ended being double book on the day. There was also a bit of confusion but I was able to get in 3 hours later. Luckily killing time in Vancouver is not that difficult. Even with the difficulties I still rate them 5 stars for how the tattoo turned out. Sean was the tattoo artist I ended up getting and he was great. Took his time explained the process and went over different placement and directions for the tattoo. Very professional and clean. Every time he looked at something on his keyboard or a drink new gloves and dis disinfectant was used. Sean is a great artist and takes pride in his work. I know I did not have the most exciting tattoo to work on (Realistic maple leaf on my back calf) but he took his time and did a great job. I will most likely be in Vancouver again and will hopefully be getting started on a half sleeve with Sean. read more

Got a tattoo from Emilio, big shoulder piece with some roses - it was some amazing work and I still need a final session. The vibe of the place is really cool, and I'm thinking of getting some touch up work done on my other existing pieces from Emilio too. Honestly, it's important to get the right artist. Look at portfolios and go to different studios. It's important for you to feel comfortable and work together with your artist. That being said, the lady at the front desk was very polite and made me feel at ease, the open space on the ground floor was great and had a lot of amazing art and features by local artists. Upstairs is where most of the work is done and it's very practical setup, where each artist has their own space. All in all my experience was fantastic and would definitely return. read more

I booked an appointment for a consultation with an artist named Richard. When I booked the appointment I detailed to the front desk exactly what I wanted to do and showed them a picture of what i wanted add to my existing tattoo. After waiting a week for my appointment I arrived and was introduced to Richard. He looked at the picture of what I wanted to do and immediately dismissed my idea. He offered no suggestion as to what we could potentially do differently and actually made me feel like an idiot. He didn't even look at my arm where I wanted to get the work done. It was basically a 3 minute meeting with someone who offered no artistic insight as to how we could make my tattoo happen. For the record all I wanted to do was get the outline of the province of BC surrounding an existing tattoo of my family crest on my upper left arm. When i suggested we could simplify the coast line of the province in order to make it cleaner he said "no, maybe you want to talk to another artist." I would have thought that a tattoo artist would have been more helpful and less dismissive. I feel like they wasted my time. read more

Fantastic artists/piercers with a wide array of skills and talents, and a simultaneously professional/super chill environment. Everyone working there is there because they love what they're doing, and all bring something unique and vibrant to the table. Definitely my favourite, and main parlour. I recommend them to anyone looking for mods! I've been there myself for 3 tattoos and 3 piercings. My last artist, J-Cee, did a fantastic job on my tattoo, and showed a care I'd not seen before in other artists. My previous time there I had the artist (no longer there) re-place the tattoo stencil maybe 8 times, as they kept putting it on funny and I wasn't comfortable. J-Cee, without hesitation or my asking, kept re-applying the stencil to make sure it went on just right, maybe 5 times (a square tattoo on the forearm so it was a little tricky to get the lines on perfectly straight!). You could see in his demeanour and work ethic that he takes it very seriously, and wants only the best for his clients. That right there made the entire experience. As well, their recent piercer Matthew Masterton is as professional as he is charming. I've seen him for two of my most recent piercings there, and I've sent some first-time friends and seasoned ones alike his way! I've got a couple more in mind, and I feel more than safe and comfortable in his hands. You couldn't ask for a better parlour! read more

The Fall is pricy. I got a simple ear piercing done for $148 with tips. $45 per ear piece, and I asked for the cheapest one, and another $30 for piercing service. I already got 15% off discount on the piercing service. I just heard from a friend that they got their ear pieces for $50 (looking bigger than mine, and the same material as mine) with service included at Adrenaline, so I feel that I paid too much money. There were no after care solution or services I received to justify for the extra money I paid. read more

Just had my first tattoo done here last week and was super pleased with the whole process. I get that it was my first one, so I suppose I don't have a frame of reference to go off, but everything was really smooth and I'm stoked on the piece I got. Front desk was helpful with my questions and scheduling, and Shwa was a boss when it came to the creative side. It was just a small piece, but turned out even better than I imagined. I was dead set on getting it on my ribs, which some artists/shops won't do for a first timer, but Shwa was able to accommodate, and despite some of the warnings I'd heard, it was a smooth and painless process. read more

If you're coming here for piercing, ask for Chance, not Matthew. I've had several piercings done by Chance that were more or less painless and healed wonderfully! I came in on a Friday and found out Chance wasn't working that day. I just wanted to get some more lobe piercings and maybe a jewelry change so I went with their other piercer. I didn't realize lobe piercings could be painful until I had my third lobes done by Matt. The needle going through was fine, but he's so rough with inserting the jewelry. It wasn't so horrible I'd never go through it again, but it was definitely comparable to my other lobe piercings. I also had Matt change out my rook piercing for a "shorter bar" which just turned out to be a straighter bar, not a shorter one (both quarter inch barbells). I wasn't super happy about it, but a double rook is in my long term plan anyway so I'd just reuse the jewelry for future piercings. The worst part of my experience was when Matthew changed the jewelry for my tragus. The piercing was a little over a month old and the bar was far, far too long so I asked him to change it out. A lot of my other jewelry was anodized rose gold so I asked him to switch out the tragus for a shorter bar and anodize the ball end to match. He told me my tragus "looks like it was pierced at an 18g" and put in an 18 gauge labret and a... fuchsia ball. I guess he messed up the voltage while anodizing my jewelry. I didn't say anything just to see if he would mention it, and he didn't. I regret not bringing it up now, but I guess that's on me. My tragus was not pierced at an 18g, I checked the jewelry he took out of my tragus against a 16g labret I had at home. Not only did he anodize my jewelry incorrectly, he also downsized my month old piercing because he didn't bother to double check the thickness of the jewelry. I don't think I'll be returning here unless I can come to Chance. read more

Just got my first tattoo done yesterday by Mike at the Fall and it couldn't have been a better experience. All the staff are super nice and accommodating and they make you feel perfectly at ease and welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Both myself and my girlfriend went in without appointments and were both tattooed withing about 4 hours. The process was as painless as we could have hoped for and neither of us could be happier with the end result. This place has undergone some changes since my last review. Rick and Russ are no longer working here anymore, but Jay, the new piercer, is wonderful. I went to see him for help with a problematic piercing and he immediately had a look at it without hesitation. I've had the chance to be pierced by him too and when I ended up with what I thought was the beginning of an infection, I went in and asked him to have a look at it. He immediately put my mind at ease when it turned out to be a bad case of irritation as a result of a metal allergy. I ended up having to get the jewellery switched for a titanium piece which he was happy to do for me. It seems like the irritation is going away as a result. He encouraged me to return at any time should any other complications arise. I still have yet to get a tattoo here so I cannot comment on that. read more

Went here to get a verrry simple tattoo done, and unfortunately didn't do any research regarding their artists. I ended up getting a tattoo done by "Al" and honestly I was thoroughly unimpressed with his work. My tattoo was a triangle composed of three smaller triangles, and considering it was essentially 6 straight lines, I gotta say I am let down. Thankfully it is fixable, but I will be going to a different shop to get this tattoo fixed to look professional. If you're going to go to this shop, I suggest you check out the artists' work before you settle on anyone. read more

After my dad passed away in 2012 I wanted to get a memorial tattoo. I had two other large tattoos done at other shops and while the work was good the lack of a personal touch kept me from going back. When I finally had the funds I started looking around. I looked at a lot of places and finally decided on The Fall. I had gone down there in hopes I could get it done the same day but when I spoke to one of their Artists (Al Gibb) he needed time to draw my design up and not to rush that process or the tattoo. I booked an appointment for the next day. I was on time but was kept waiting for 30 mins due to front staff not telling Al I was there and waiting. I admit that part threw me off and had considering walking out then and there. I am SO glad I stayed!! Al was very apologetic about the screw up and made me feel at ease from the get go. He was very into the design/pic I had brought in and was looking forward to doing it. The tattoo took 4 hours and through the whole process Al was friendly,answered my random tattooing questions and was so focused on getting the tattoo just right! I recently got my ears pierced by Russ Fox at this shop. He is an excellent piercer, very professional and good at what he does. He took the time and care to show me that the tools were sanitized and that the one time use items were disposed of properly. Russ also re pierced my labret, and both piercings are doing great and healing well. Great work and results for your dollar, and the shop is really cool looking and clean. I've been looking around Vancouver for some time now for a decent tattoo and piercing place and have definitely found one. The people working at the fall are incredibly nice and helpful and there is a very sanitary but friendly vibe to the whole place. My friend and i got pierced there a few days ago and were even further impressed. We were both taken care of by Rick, who happens to be the store manager, and he was incredible. He's been piercing for over 20 years and definitely knows what he is doing. His professional and friendly personality reflected the whole store mentality. I've also been talking with a tattoo artist there (i found her through the store website - her work displayed was outstanding) and she's been very helpful and patient in working out a tattoo sketch and appointment date. i DEFINITELY recommend this place to everyone! read more

Those working at the front desk are helpful and able to suggest an artist relative to the style and detail you are looking for. Downstairs has some interesting art on display, good for those who may be nervous I think. Then upstairs is where the magic happens!...The artists have an open plan style area with one station that's closed off. There's lots to look at on the walls up there too. If you're into Heavy Metal you'll be in your element as it's always been on any time I've been there. Can't say I'm a Metal fan in particular yet it was fun to listen to while getting tattooed. I would not reccomend this place to anyone, it is the laughing stock of the local tattoo community. The artists are second rate and the management is apathetic and incompetent. I got a piece there a few months ago and was reccomended to see their top artist, my arm looks like a 4 year old with a ball point pen scribbled some skull or squirrel riding a Harley on my arm. I complained to the Manager and to the owner who told me it wasn't his problem and no refund! Do not go here! I came from Vancouver Island to get a memorial tattoo to honour my father's passing. After booking the trip, and paying for the deposit, paying for the hotel and arriving in Vancouver, I was told at the last minute on the day of that the artist got a surprise spot in the tattoo convention that weekend and I could either get tattooed at the convention (zero interest in that) or not get tattooed at all. I was pretty angry and the artist contacted me directly. He offered me a $200 credit to my account, apologized profusely and told me he would squeeze me in on a short notice in the future if I wanted to still get it done with him. I said I absolutely would and chalked it up to being what it is. I have however, tried numerous times to contact the artist again, through calling, email, text messaging and calling his personal cell that he used to contact me when he was a no show. There has been no response, I have given him dates when I could be in town and even though a year has passed by and I don't get to the mainland often, I have given at least a month's notice and still no direct response from the guy. So, without leaving too negative of a review, because we all know stuff happens, I am extremely unsatisfied. I know these guys are great artists, and I would have loved to have gotten my memorial tattoo done with this guy, but that's it for me, the shine has worn completely off on it. There is a certain level of brush off a person can take when dealing with precious artists, but this is beyond that. I was pretty nice about it, for a guy that travelled 8 hours round trip and spent $300 just to hang out in Vancouver for two days for no reason I think I was pretty reasonable.
