Very discriminating facility, not patient inclined and only concern is your insurance policy. My wife was treated as a third class citizen and asked to leve the office after requesting her procedures to be done. I asked the doctor a question concerning my health and appetite he responded to me that he was more specialized in cold and flu and that I should see his college about my concernes. I'm not really a huge fan. The counter staff and nurses/orderlies/whatever they're called are generally abrasive or just don't seem to care at all. Even worse, I've had two different doctor's help me the two different times I went, and both of them did something to offend me in some way, which is saying something, because I usually NEVER get offended by anything. The first time I went, I was there for an annual physical exam. While I was there, though, I decided to ask about some recurring back pain that I've had constantly for about ten years. The doctor looked me up and down really quick and said, "You're just too fat. Seriously, lugging that gut around is like being a pregnant woman, only for a lot longer than nine months." He refused to even look closer, run tests, or do anything else but say I was too fat. Granted, I am overweight; however, only by about forty pounds, which isn't that much. And my spine is as crooked as an archery bow. Did this matter to the doctor? Nope. Not at all. Despite the rudeness I experienced during my first experience at The Family Doctors, I decided to go back about a year later when I had the flu, because it's the closest doctor to where I live. The 2nd doctor helped me out with my illness just fine and was pleasant enough until he first decided to berate me for half an hour and straight up say "Why are you so stupid?" when he found out that I'm a smoker. To make matters worse, he then berated me for not being a Christian (I'm an agnostic diest, for the record). All in all, I don't care to ever go back to this place to find out if the other doctors are just as rude as the first two I experienced or the staff that they hire. If you've got another doctor nearby, go there, even if it's a little farther away. read more

Wow! What a horrible experience. The only good thing about this office is Rebecka, who takes care of insurance. She serves with a smile while the rest of the office is rude and careless. I'm sure my lousy Obamacare insurance had something to do with it but I waited over 2 hours just to see someone. Instead of seeing a doctor, I had a nursing STUDENT poke and prod for 10 minutes. Dr. Scott opened the door and was gone in less than one minute. They left me sitting in the little Dr. waiting room for over an hour and the place was almost empty. I should've known how my experience was going to go as soon as I noticed that they had chiropractors on staff (regardless of how you may feel about chiropractic, there's a reason they're non-existent in emergency rooms/hospitals). The desk staff and nurse were extremely friendly but the "practitioner" was a rude, condescending jerk and about as knowledgeable as WebMD. He seemed to get frustrated when I couldn't understand his mumbling and became snooty because he thought I couldn't understand his "big" words. Now, I don't want to leave a negative review without some suggestions as to how to improve, so here's my advice: legality notwithstanding (I'm not sure if this is legal in Texas), if MISTER Randy Martz wants to be addressed as "doctor", he needs to earn his degree because, as it stands, he's about as much of a doctor as Dr. Dre (all due respect to the masterpiece that is Dre's album, "the chronic"). A google search was infinitely more informative and helpful than his armchair opinion and his "respect for people" stated in his bio on the Family Doctors website seems to be false advertising. To anyone reading this: if you favor science and modern medicine, do yourselves a favor and go to a real clinic. You know, one that doesn't focus your chi and balance your chakra. To be fair, MISTER Martz didn't try to do either of those but, in all candor, my money would've been better-spent at PrimaCare. read more

Wow, looking over some of the past reviews, I wanted to offer something more recent for people searching for a new PCP/doctor/provider under Obamacare or just after all the changes, in general. You see, I was one of those people. My husband and I had minimal health insurance but due to the changes, we had to switch to something more expensive, under BCBS. We do get government help now but its now under a HMO provider. If you don't know already, when you make the switch from PPO to HMO, you kind of get treated like lower-level citizens. Its pretty awful but something I know is temporary for the husband and I (though I wish our country would work on that. Blah). I was understandably afraid as I searched DFW for a reasonable HMO provider- one that wasn't in an area where I might step out of my car and get mugged/raped/attacked. Seriously- some of these clinics are in some questionable areas. Honestly, The Family Doctor's clinic isn't nearly as lovely as my last clinic, but they're just fine. They're certainly safe, in a family-friendly neighborhood of Denton, and the providers are good enough. They're no sweethearts but they get the job done efficiently. The front desk staff were very polite and friendly with me. My only qualm might be the wait time but with the flood of all these new changes, that's expected. So if you approach this with more of a realistic, understanding attitude, I think you'll be just fine. read more

I have had both good and not-so-good experiences here. I typically only go once a year for my physical and I've never had any problems with those. I was finally able to convince my husband to go for a physical, but I probably won't be to do that again! For some pretext...all of my physicals at this office (3 in total) have consisted of basic things like blood pressure, checking reflexes, getting blood drawn, etc. I believe he saw Dr. Gorman (?) - not one of the doctors I'm familiar with. My husband goes in for his physical and they end up performing chest x-rays, breathing tests, the works. We wouldn't necessarily have had a problem with this except that they don't tell us why they are doing any of these tests. They also don't end up drawing his blood because "the blood guy isn't here today". You really only employ one person who can draw blood? *facepalm*. A few days later they call my husband and inform him that his chest x-ray came back abnormal so he needs to get a CT scan. Again, they had no additional information for us. According to the nurse that we spoke to "I don't know how to read x-rays so I'm not sure what's wrong". I completely understand that x-rays are sent off to a radiologist for that exact reason, but I find it hard to believe that there were no notes accompanying the returned scan offering any sort of reasoning. After taking more time off work to get the CT scan done we have to make a follow up appointment with the doctor's office. This time we see an entirely different doctor because apparently Dr. Gorman couldn't follow this through to the end, and are told everything is fine, but maybe follow up in 6-12 months for another physical and x-ray to make sure. I am one of those people who takes what doctors say very seriously so if you tell me my husband needs to get a test done we will make sure it gets done. However, there was a complete lack of communication throughout this whole situation which I find totally unacceptable. read more

I visited the practice on HWY 380 several times out of time convenience. DO NOT RECOMMEND. The staff can be pleasant but mostly they give an air of "oh this is boring I'm better than this" and the doctors are complete fucking quacks. The last time I visited I had an outer ear infection on the lobe that was recurring, so just wanted some antibiotics. The doc (don't remember who, but it was a man on the portly side) looked at my ear for like 5 seconds, asked no questions (I had to push my whole story on to him basically) and then proceeded to tell me that he was "90 percent sure you have ___ staff infection". I think he said it was MRSA or something similar, but he described it as incurable and highly contagious. Just FYI I am a licensed massage therapist and a full time child care provider, so I get up close and personal with bodily fluids and a highly contagious disease would be super easy for me to spread in these situations. He came to this thrilling conclusion after I told him I was a therapist, and had been to a couple tattoo shops in the last year. He kept saying "hanging out" like I'm a regular ink artist groupie or something and made my job seem dirty--as if I went through 820 hours of schooling just to give people "happy endings". He basically told me I couldn't work in my areas of training if the test returned positive and I left the office crying. Also, the test results were supposed to take two days and I called after FOUR to verify my (thankfully negative) results. I have never been treated so badly, and I've been through a few less than stellar doctor offices. Other times I visited it seemed like the nurses were pushing all kinds of shots and tests that they could just to charge more. If I could give 0 stars I would. I've never rated anyone on anything like this before. Numerous headaches over the years, nothing gets done quick or easy here. Yes because they were located right down the road we'd use them occasionally when needing medical help & our fault for continuing on with them. What reputable doctor goes out of town with 5 other physicians in the office and doesn't have someone to fill prescriptions as they come in?! Because you go on vacation you just expect no one needs anything or can just wait on you? On top of that the nurse was very rude. Look, I'd gone to this doctor's office for years as it was really close to my house in Denton, TX. I got mixed-feelings about the doctors and staff there, but found tremendous comfort in Dr. Joseph Scott. He is the only redeeming factor of this office. I hate to say it, but the staff is incredibly rude. They have this holier-than-thou attitude and rush you around and don't exactly understand customer service. One of their favorite things to do is act like they're transferring you to a nurse or someone else in the office, then you soon find out you're being shoved off to one of their multiple voice mailboxes until someone feels like dealing with it. That's really unprofessional and terribly rude. Time is not a priority in this office. You'll set an appointment for a certain time, yet you can wait up to 30 minutes after said appointment time just to be seated in the doctor's office. Also, when they say they're going to do something in a certain time frame (ie, fax RXs, charts, talk to the doctor), IT WILL NOT HAPPEN IN THE TIME THEY SAY IT WILL. I can't think of one time in the past several years of going to this clinic that anything that I called in about was dealt with in a timely manner. They have repeatedly left me hanging for a couple of days, thus resulting in multiple phone calls and visits from me, then they get annoyed because they act like I'm bothering them. I WOULDN'T BOTHER YOU IF YOU WOULD JUST DO YOUR JOB. I would get out of your hair if you would take care of your patients the way you're supposed to instead of letting their prescriptions run out and leave them waiting on a phone call from you that you never make. I moved away and no longer have to go to this office, and I'm glad I did. I only liked going here to visit with Dr. Scott as he was incredibly friendly and a pleasant person to be around. However, the rest of the BS I have to deal with leading up to and after my appointments with Dr. Scott absolutely ruined the reputation of this office in my eyes. One of my favorite, yet most unfortunate stories from this clinic was when I went in to see if I had a sinus infection. The doctor (NOT Dr. Joseph Scott) basically rushed into the room, asked me what I thought I had, and just gave me a prescription without checking me. The whole face-time with this doctor was about 2 minutes that day. That felt incredibly unprofessional and borderline illegal to just go by what the patient said without even double checking. I can't think of a better solution for a general doctor's office in Denton, but I would recommend trying your other options and leaving this place for a last resort. read more

Worst experience at a doctor's office I've ever had. Everything that other people are saying in their reviews is true. The staff is aloof at best and downright rude at worst. I had to book my appointment almost two-weeks out before I could get in as a new patient but I never received a courtesy confirmation call regarding my appointment. I printed all the new patient paperwork ahead of my visit and took with me, yet I still waited nearly an hour before being called back. A woman who was presumably a nurse but never identified herself came in to go over my existing medications with me to find out what I'd need refilled. I told her that I was ok on all my meds but that it would be great if they'd go ahead and write them all so that everything was already on file when I needed refills. I could not make her understand this simple concept! She kept saying that she was concerned the prescriptions would expire before I had them filled. I told her that prescriptions for the class of drugs I take are good for a year. She said, "So you've got enough refills to last you a year?" Finally I think I got her to understand what I was saying and she left but then after a little bit she came back and informed me that the doctor was unwilling to refill one of my prescriptions because it's injectable and he wouldn't prescribe an injectable to be administered at home. I didn't recognize the doctor's name she was referring to. It turned out that the doctor they had me scheduled with was not the same doctor I had scheduled with when I called in and made the appointment! They put me with a DO but I only see MDs and had gone through a big back-and-forth with the receptionist when I made the initial appointment to ensure I wasn't booked with a DO. (I had a really bad experience once where a DO prescribed a harmful medication, so I don't trust them anymore.) The nurse or whoever she was said that she'd check to see if I could get in with the Physician Assistant but that I might have to come back on another day for a different appointment. So this woman leaves but comes back a few minutes later and tells me that the PA won't prescribe the medicine for me either, so it looks like they're not the doctor's office for me! It was wholly unprofessional that the alleged medical providers did not come in to speak with me directly and that the nurse (or whoever she was) brushed me off after I waited patiently for an hour-and-a-half with a curt "Well, we're not the doctor's office for you." A complete and utter waste of my time. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. read more

If you have good insurance coverage this doctors' office is just fine. They know they will get their money so they treat you quite well. The front desk staff can be a bit abrasive, but if you have your ducks in a row you will have a much more pleasant experience. Now, if you don't have insurance your experience is going to be entirely different. I recently had a mix up in coverage (conveniently while ill) and had to pay out of pocket for a visit. It was a simple cold, but I payed $160 for an office visit and wasn't even given a prescription. I've been going to this doctor, with full insurance coverage, for two years and have never left the office without a prescription of some sort so I was quite disappointed that they were willing to charge me when they didn't treat me. The other problem I have with this office is the amount of time the doctors spend with each patient. I know this is a typical problem for many doctors' offices, but the physicians really do seem to rush through every visit. The CNAs and RNs are always really nice (and one of the male nurses is quite a looker) and they spend much more time with you than the physicians so be sure to tell them anything you want the doctor to know as you may not have time to tell him/her yourself. If you have the option of going to a smaller clinic or you can visit a physician with a private practice I would recommend taking that route, but overall this office is a good choice! read more

Refused to verify insurance on a Saturday. I guess as long as you only get sick during the week, you're fine.

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I was sick with a sinus infection, the male nurse gave me two shots in the hip and left very bad bruises. He was very careless and rude. To Make matters worse I receveied a bill saying I owed and my insurance didnt cover it. I called my insurance and they billed the injections as therapeutic which is fraudulent. I am now stuck with this bill. They advised if I did not pay it would be sent to collections. I do not recommend this place. I am also turning them into the better business Bureau. read more

I never write reviews because they are usually negative and everyone has different experiences and should make their own opinion.. But honestly.. All these bad reviews are completely true. Worst doctors office/professional medical business I have ever been too, and that's very dissapointing to say because I have been to plenty. My first time here, the front check in/counter ladies were extremely rude by acting as if I was a burden on their time, to then just turn around and talk to one another and giggle around, but once it was time for my paperwork to be turned in, just grab the board from my hands and say nothing. I literally just stood there waiting for some info on what to do next, and the lady who took my paperwork just looked back at me annoyed.. I've gone through and seen that many of these other reviews are negative, and I honestly couldn't agree more. When it was time for me to walk back, one of the lady nurses who took my weight, height, etc did not say a word to me, did not greet me, NOTHING. She didn't read back any of my info; blood pressure, temperature, etc. the only thing she said to me was "dr will be out as soon as possible" At this point I was mind blown. I felt so terribly uncomfortable and was ready to find a new doctors office already. I actually started to get a little bit of anxiety and called my mom to ask if that was normal.. (which I knew wasn't right, but I was debating on walking out or not). The second visit I had here, I was getting some blood drawn for a test after I saw Richter. The woman taking my blood said a few words having to do with when I'd receive results, and just started poking at me. She didn't make me feel comfortable at all, or tell me when she was going to start. I was actually the one asking her name, and trying to make conversation. I tried to ya know, KNOW WHO IS SERVING ME. She had little care in responding, so I just gave up and started getting very annoyed. I have seen Dr. Scott, (the first visit of mine) and he has been the only cool, nice, and caring doctor this office has, which is ridiculous. I would not see anyone else if you HAD to go here. This office should definitely consider rehiring most of their staff. It's a good location, the building is decent, but they just REALLY need staff/doctors who will provide care and comfort to their clients no matter what time of day it is, etc. I see that one person on here has tried to explain and provide a positive outlook on this dr office's negative vibe, but no, it doesn't work like that. Really?! If you're working in any kind of medical field there are NO excuses for rude and mean behavior, no matter what type of insurance plan your family is on, whatever. If you make people feel uncomfortable, that is not okay. As many bad reviews as I see on here, I don't plan on giving them my money any longer, as I see so many other people are having the same issues. If you don't like your job, find one that won't make you miserable, aka, these front counter ladies who want to act like they hate the patients for coming in and making them to their job. Same for the nurses who can't even put a smile on their face, or make some simple form of conversation out of generosity to the folks who may be new, and want to feel welcome/safe. Terrible clinic. They only want to discuss one issue per visit. So if you have more than one thing wrong you get to make a separate appointment and pay their $74-$100 office visit charge. They also always fail to mention additional costs after you have received care. For example, if you want a lab test you get to pay $80 for the doctor visit. $20 for them to do the test. Then a month later you get a bill from the lab for $160 PER TEST that they never mention. If you want to get care from the family doctors, be prepared to take out a loan. read more

An all around very positive experience. I went in with a large bump that was causing excruciating pain. 1st they got me an appointment that day. Dr. Kimberly Wolfe was amazing. She told me she wasn't able to lance it open because of how it will need to be packed and so forth. She then said don't worry we will figure something out. Kim Mitz, I believe came back and had found me a surgeon who would see me same day and in my network. Both of these ladies are amazing and I truly appreciate the extra help! They deserve a raise and Doctors and Assistants like them give doctor's a good name. Thank you! read more

My wife had a growth on her neck. They took samples and a nurse called my wife and told her it was cancer. She cried for an hour and then she got mad because the doctor did not call her with the results. She called back in and found out it was NOT cancer. The nurses are rude and no idea what is going on. Hell they can even read the chart correctly. I recently when in to get a few things checked out at 1:30 pm. They took my blood but didnt call me back for 3 days. By 9 pm I was in the hospital with a kidney stone. The doctors just don't give shit crap. read more

If you like your medical care like fast-food assembly lines, you'll enjoy The Family Doctors. It's a standard McClinic. You will see whatever doctor they happen to assign you, so I've had good and bad experiences. The first doctor I saw was great, the second not so much. On top of that, they'll make you come in for an appointment before refilling maintenance prescriptions. If you run out and can't get in for the appointment, you're out of luck. And then, after insisting you come in, a nurse will take your temp and blood pressure, and then the doctor will come in for 90 seconds, ask how you are and then agree to the refill. I guess they get their $$$ for an office visit that way, which seems to be the most important thing. read more

I have never written a review but I felt it was necessary for the terrible experience I had. This was the worst doctors visit I have ever had. When I called to make my appointment the lady on the phone was very rude and I felt rushed. When I went in I had to be there an hour early for them to verify my insurance which I wasn't too happy about but I understood. I had a $30 copay but any other labs or tests that were done would have to be paid in addition to that ( which I've never had to do before) but they told me they couldn't bill me later I would have to pay right then. I didn't come in with hundreds of dollars so I was not prepared to do that. I had come in for 2 issues which I told the first lady about, the one that asks the questions and takes your blood pressure and stuff. Apparantly she only wrote down one of the issues because as I was told by the nurse practitioner she could only help me with one thing because they were too "busy". This made no sense to me. Is that not the reason you go to the doctor? To have all of your issues addressed? I only got one of the tests done and felt I wasted my $30 because nothing was accomplished. On top of that most of the staff I encountered were not very pleasant. I do not recommend this office to anyone that wants to actually be helped. read more

Not really sure what takes them forever when they have at least 5 providers at the office. But I have been here for regular check ups and this time I went in for updating my immunizations and to update my file because I got married. They asked me to come in at 8am to do paperwork to avoid the wait time and to move the process faster because I had my appointment set for 8:30. I did just that, did paper work which took 5 mins. I sat here watching people go ahead of me and after like 30 mins and I asked when will I be seen. She said "oh you should be next, she is just verifying your new insurance". What in the world? For the past 30 mins what have they been doing!? It's been over 45 mins now as I write this review and I am still sitting here in the waiting room. I do not recommend this place to anyone. At first I thought I liked these doctors but then after they prescribed me 2 different daily medications they advised I would need to come for an appointment EVERY month to have them refilled. I can't take off work once a month just to get refills that is ridiculous. Then one of the medications started having bad side effects including discoloration of skin on my forehead. When I called to schedule another appointment to change that medication they said I would have to see a dermatologist first which made no sense. The dermatologist called so I asked what they could do for the side effects of my medication, to no surprise they said they couldn't help with that I would need to talk to my doctor. The real kicker was that the referral the doctor sent them was for a rash on my calf which I didn't have! Another thing, you must arrive before your appointment time otherwise while you are waiting on one of the seven desk girls to get you signed in the doctor can cancel your appointment saying you were late lending to you to need to take more time off work. So unless you have all the time in the world for them to disregard and you like to be sent to other doctors for issues you don't have avoid this place. read more

By far the worst doctor office I've ever been to...and this is coming from a man who has been to the VA! The front office staff has a huge turnover, so you never talk to the same person twice. Aside from that, they have nearly no medical knowledge. The doctors, nurses, referral lady, and office manager are never on the same page. When I finally expressed my dissatisfaction with their lack of patient knowledge and the inability of the referral lady to ever call me back when she said she would, they refused to provide what I have already paid for. I've had to turn to my insurance company in hope of recovery my losses. Save yourself the frustration, and find another doctor. read more

I have to say that I am saddened and shocked at the terrible reviews for The Family Doctors. My husband and I have been patients here for over 10 years. We have most often seen Dr. Brent Gorman, who is one of the most kind and caring doctors we've ever seen. At times when Dr. Gorman hasn't been available, the other doctors and Nurse Practioner (Kimberly Wolf) we've seen have been just as friendly and caring. They had a gentleman nurse (I am not sure if he's still there) but he was unbelievably friendly. Some of the nurses aren't the friendliest, but I just always remember they are super busy and have so much to do for the doctors and patients. The staff for the most part is friendly, but the times they may have been short, it was because they were extremely busy with patients in the office and the phone ringing non-stop. I agree one should never be rude, but I try hard to put myself in their shoes. It's a tough job. Anyway, I would HIGHLY recommend The Family Doctors. read more

I have been to the family doctors on several occasions but when they treated my little brother like a paycheck I decided never to go here again. Doctor Gorman seems like a decent guy but his sessions are super quick and make you feel like a robot. I know it is common practice to only see the doctor for one thing at a time but they take it to the extreme. My brother found an unknown rash on his thighs and it started spreading to his stomach so he called for an appointment. Also, during this time I have bugged him enough times to get an epi pen and so he told the receptionist that he would like to get one of those as well and she just told him to tell the doctor during his visit. The day he goes in he has strange cold like symptoms maybe caused by the rash. He sees the doctor and the doctor tells him he'll need to see him on seperate occasions for each thing. This to me is penny pinching for these reasons. The epi pen can be a matter of life and death for him and the receptionist never told him that he'd need a seperate appointment. The rash could of caused the cold like symptoms and as a medical professional he should of checked into that. This is common practice here and if you go here expect long waits and assembly line like treatment. read more

I have been a patient of this group for many years. My first Doctor has since left the practice a few years back so I went to see Doctor Scott. I found him to be wonderful in the beginning. He diagnosed my diabetes and high blood pressure. A great experience! After seeing him a few times for my follow ups, he started being unavailable so I then started seeing another physician/nurse practitioner in the group. She was great. (note) I had to see her to be able to keep my prescriptions going. Well, I was laid off in August of 2015 and with that, there goes the insurance. I finally have been hired and insurance kicks in. I go to the practice as I need to get my prescriptions after 6 months, give them my insurance information, they tell me I have an appointment that day, take off work from new job, get to office and am then told that I have an unpaid balance and must pay or not be seen. This is a balance that I am completely unaware of and the girls up front at the counter as well as the office manager will not work with me in any way so I can see the doctor to obtain my needed prescriptions. I ask to see Dr Scott and he is unavailable. I let them know that I can wait as long as necessary. I reiterated to the office manager that i took off work from my NEW job for this appointment. So I wait and wait. Finally the office manager comes to me and tells me I should pay my bills and that the doctors will not even talk to me. Imagine my surprise that the Doctor that has seen me and taken care of my family for many years would not see me to discuss any options as I was in dire need of my medication and the office people did not seem to care. My disappointment in the level that this practice has sunk is graded "F". what I see with this group is the down hill slide from great to greedy. You will benefit by not going to this group for care as long as the current staff up front is there and the current physicians continue with their "don't care about you only the dollar" attitude. I completely agree with the previous reviewer. Here are my 2 cents: 1. The staff is very rude, I am talking about not even acknowledging your presence when you walk up to their window. 2. Your time is worth nothing for them, and they have the right to call you at 9.30am, even if you are not able to see the doctor until 10.45am. I had to wait in excess of an hour both the times I was there. 3. Both the times I was there, my condition was bad, and I needed to 'a' doctor. First time, which was in September 2009, I had a terrible migraine and they made me wait for over an hour. My wife explained to them over the phone while she was making an appointment with them that my condition is bad. She was asked to bring me in at 9.30am. In spite of the fact that I was suffering in front of the office staff, no one bothered to even offer me some place to lie down. We waited until 10.45 in the general area before we could see Dr. Scott. How good is this doctor? That's a different story, which I will tell for everyone's benefit. Dr. Scott diagnosed me with wrong treatments both the times I was there. He shoots off of his hips without even contemplating ordering for lab work or referring to a specialist or anything like that. I would recommend anyone to go to him only if you know what it is that you are going through and you need a doctor, who is pretty much available at all times, to write you the prescription you need. He does not care about his patients, all the time you are trying to tell him what you are going through, instead of listening to you, he's always scribbling something on a notepad. During my first visit in September 2009, he diagnosed me with simple Migraine headache and sent me home with Imitrex. I ended up in the ER the following weekend. After which I was referred to a neurologist by them. I was diagnosed with Cluster headaches. I was treated for that, and I am relieved from it for now. For anyone that has gone through this, they will know that it's not gone forever. During my second visit, which was in December 2009, I went to him with an allergic reaction. He diagnosed me with having 'Scabies". Again, no consultation with a specialist or lab work or anything of that nature was done. He scared me to death saying it 'maybe' contagious. I live with a 5 month old and my wife; I asked him what kind of precautions I should take. He did not give me any specifics. I walked out of his office and went to CareNow, which is a Minor Emergency. They did some lab work and told me it wasn't Scabies and I wasn't going to transfer it to my baby. They gave me a Steroid shot and some anti-allergy medication, I was back to normal in 2 days. Bottom line is, please DO NOT go to this practice, where the staff is rude and the doctors don't know what they are diagnosing, nor do they care if you fall right in front of them. Avoid these people, I was charged multiple times for the same visit. A debt collector was sent after me when I had already paid them. If you absolutely have to use them, then save your receipts, otherwise avoid these people altogether. I have literally just joined Yelp to warn people about this doctor's office. read more

I had an early morning appointment, in which it took them over 30 minutes to get me in. The Doctor referred me to get a CT scan without discussing follow up care, or giving me any help to fix my pain. When I get to the place to get the CT scan, I find out that the Dr. should have given me a pregnancy test before hand, so I have to schedule another appointment for that day to get a pregnancy test. My second appointment was at 1pm, in which I waited until almost 1:45 to be seen because there was a nurses meeting (why schedule a client to come in if you know they will not be seen in a timely manner?) When I finally get to speak to someone, they hand me a piece of paper and tell me that I have to go to the hospital to get the pregnancy test done....thanks, this information would have been helpful over the phone, or at our first appointment. So I go to the hospital, then to get the CT scan done. I was told I would have my results either later that day or early the next morning. After contacting them twice throughout the next day, The Family Doctors do not call me until after 5pm the next day. They left a message telling me that everything was fine and that I had to schedule another appointment for follow-up plans. Follow-up is something that should have been discussed in the first appointment!! I will not be returning here and neither will anyone in my family. They do not seem to care about their patients, because if they did they would not have had me jumping all around wasting time and money. They are very inconsiderate of their clients time and pain. My husband and I have been going to "The Family Doctors" now going on four years. Called to get in and see the doctor in regards to my recently diagnose Crohn's after a hospital stay and several trips to the ER. Still in a lot of pain and having problems. Called, and Jen (billing) stated that we had a sixty something dollar bill that needed to be paid first. I stated, we had no problem paying it, we don't get paid until Friday, and its Tuesday and I really need to come in and see the doctor. Would not hold a check or my debt card info. Stated, I would have to go back to the ER. We have very good insurance and always kept our account good. Didn't even know we had an outstanding bill until recently. On their web-page, it states, "Your Health is What Matters to Us". BS. Only thing that matters to them is the mighty dollar. It saddens me to know that a doctors office that I have been going to for some time could just slam the door in my face. I had talked so highly of this place and what a disappointment. Now looking for a new doctor in the middle of this mess with Crohns. As far as the treatment and my actual doctors care, Randall and Scott Martz are wonderful. read more
