This place was recommended to me by a trusted source while I was extremely ill, so I went to seek care. I had numerous symptoms (high fever, enflamed lymph nodes, sore muscles, slight ear muffling, dehydration, etc) and Ryan the PA who saw me did not run any tests, but just looked in my ear, said I had an ear infection, and prescribed me amoxicillin. I didn't have any ear pain and it didn't explain my other symptoms, but I'm not a doctor so I trusted his expert opinion. I began taking my antibiotic same day, but two days passed and I saw zero improvement and my symptoms actually got worse. I decided I needed to return to urgent care since I was clearly misdiagnosed at my first visit. At the second visit, I told Megan the NP (she's great) my symptoms and she looked in my throat and immediately knew it was mono. She ran tests to confirm and I did indeed have mono. She switched my antibiotic -- which turns out I didn't need, but she did not want to stop mid-antibiotic treatment so I wouldn't build resistance -- because she said taking amoxicillin when I have mono could cause a rash. I had already taken amoxicillin for those two days between my two visits, and switched to the new antibiotic. A week later, I developed a full body rash that lasted for 14 days, all due to an antibiotic that I did not need because of a MISDIAGNOSIS at my first visit. I never had an ear infection, did not need amoxicillin, but because of a careless PA and a misdiagnosis, I took the antibiotic i didn't need and had to pay for a useless visit and physically suffer through a full body rash caused by the amoxicillin taken while infected with mono. Now rapid med is taking ZERO accountability, and will not refund me for my first visit because they said the care I received at my first visit was "appropriate". I didn't realize they consider misdiagnoses and prescribing medicine that then causes unnecessary suffering appropriate care, or else I never would have gone here in the first place. They are careless and lack accountability, and just want to get you in and out of the door, regardless of whether they actually treat your illness or not. $450 later after two visits wasted due to a misdiagnosis the first time around. read more

This has to be one of the worst run Urgent Cares in the area. They fail on patient care. They do not have an idea how to run an organized clinic. They fail to send prescriptions to the right pharmacy. And if you question them; you will receive very rude remarks. I do not know how this place still exists. After having been a patient for over a decade I have witnessed Rapid Med expand, change and improve in some areas but also worsen in others. Here are some of the pros and cons: Pros: - You can schedule an appointment online using their new system that allows you to choose a specific time to be seen. This has replaced the unpredictable, get-in-line-cross-your-fingers-and-wait-for-a-call/text format that they previously employed. Although the former method wasn't unsatisfactory, I appreciate the current one so much more. - You can get treatment for a wide variety of ailments ranging from emergency services to routine checkups. - They offer virtual appointments for certain conditions. It just doesn't get more convenient than not having to leave your house to see a doctor. Cons: - You HAVE TO watch your bill!!! They have a remote billing department that doesn't communicate with their front office so you may be charged an amount at the time of service that is totally incorrect and never know it if you don't check w/your insurance company after they process it. I have discovered numerous and costly mistakes that would have gone unnoticed had I not been vigilant about this. - For chronic issues they can require seemingly redundant follow up visits before giving a long term prescription/solution. - While all the providers are caring and trying in earnest to treat patients, they do not have the same credentials. Some are clearly more experienced than others but there is no way to ensure that you see a particular one. Whoever is available at the time is who you will see. read more

I have had favorable experiences here before. But not today. My wife was in extreme pain at home we rushed off to rapid med. There's nothing like watching the person you love in that much pain. We chose rapid med because of our favorable past. Walked in the door. They wouldn't check her in because I forgot her purse! I have the nurse my insurance card and said I'll go get her purse so you can see her driver's license. Nurse said don't bother we close in minutes. What ever happened to putting patients first?! This place is not filing insurance at all. I went for an appointment and was charged for another family members tests & visit. They never even asked for my insurance card. Any other office will look and see what insurance you have and it will cost you what insurance won't cover only. They (one of the ladies at the front desk) made it seem as though if it wasn't payed I would have to leave. I've been coming here since I was in high school, but it's not what it used to be. The dr's and nurses are nice, but never seem to have an answer when something is wrong. I would just find somewhere else to go personally. read more

Service is usually quick and easy BUT there are ALWAYS billing issues. It seems I always receive a balance due statement several weeks after my office visit where I made requested payment at the time of service. I have a PPO and never receive such outrageous charges anywhere else. read more

We have been patients here for almost 10 years. Without Dr. Gomez, Rapid Med has gone from a "family practice" to a place where you are just a dollar sign. The front desk staff are short, nasty, and uncaring. Doctors are unsympathetic and robot-like. Go in with an ankle sprain and they want to swab for flu and strep. Any illness will guarantee a Cefdinir prescription, which is their antibiotic of choice. Teledoc has become a better option. We will never go back. read more

After years of using Rapid Med I am DONE with their services. After waiting over 3 hours to come in for my appointment, I was informed I owed $141. I have incredible insurance. My last two appointments were for sinus infections- easy to diagnose and doesn't take more than 5 minutes. Add my copays and I was charged over $181- $90.50 each appointment. Saw this sign when I went today- that I MIGHT be charged for a specialist appointment. Even for another sinus infection. Why???? I still went ahead and paid the money I "owed", then asked if I could go ahead and pay my $20 copay. I was informed I couldn't, because my total may be more than that based on what was done. What????? Said goodbye and walked out. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I'd rather wait 3 days to get in with my GP than pay frivolous charges. read more

I normally do not post any negative comments on-line , but after my experience with this facility. I felt compelled to write my experience. I was recently diagnosed with COVID and had recovered, and scheduled an appointment to do a post COVID check up in case for pneumonia. I went in on my scheduled day, they took my vitals which were very low. We assumed it was bc I was dehydrated so they agreed to do a chest x-ray, blood work and IV with some antibiotics. After the x/ray and blood work they hooked me up a regular IV. When I asked if they were going to give me antibiotics and steroids as originally discussed the nurse said it will be in the second bag, but upon completion of the first bag, the Doctor came in and said I need to go to the ER bc I have COVID pneumonia. Which I asked if I could just get some antibiotics to treat it. The Doctor said no we are not set for this treatment, and to immediately go to the ER. After paying $272 for the co-pay I begrudgingly left for the local ER in Flower Mound. Upon arrival and getting checked in the ER, the Doctor asked why I was sent to them. He looked at the forms that Rapid Care provided, and said we will have to re-run some more tests as protocol. So after 4 hours of waiting for the results the ER Doc said all I have is a little pneumonia which is often times a by product of recovering from COVID, and all I needed is a Z-pack to treat it. The ER staff did unofficially acknowledge that from time to time they get patients like me from these Boutique Urgent Care facilities, get half treated and then dumped to an ER. I literally felt that Rapid Care just Pumped and Dumped me. I'm not even sure what the whole point of facilities like this exist if they just half ass their services, and just churn patients in like cattle. I would highly not recommend going here. Their practice or lack of a practice is all a facade. I've never been let down and disappointed in my life. This is an epic fail of their practice!!!!! read more

Caution: This is business is not considered an Urgent Care facility by insurance companies. Instead it is a physicians clinic that takes walk-in appointments. I don't know how well the doctors service their patients. What I do know is that I had to fill out forms online, including my insurance and other personal information before getting into the queue. Then sick, and injured, I made my way down to the facility, checked in and then waiting to be seen only to be told that my insurance is not acceptable. 2 stars for nice atmosphere in the waiting room and the polite woman at the front desk. read more

Nicely appointed facility. Convenient to argyle area. Allows for appointments. Open until 9 on the weekends. They were quick to get me in and back to a room. Made a good call to get flu and step tests started asap so they could be done sooner. We were in and out in lies than 45 minutes which is highly impressive. The only issue- they didn't know what pharmacies were open late. Epic fail. We all know that the worst thing is waiting for your prescription but to that of worth FINDING AN OPEN PHARMACY. Four visits and Seven calls later we finally found one that was open and had Tamiflu. Drove 20 min to that pharmacy to then wait an hour ..... If they only had faxed it ahead..... It's a little further of a drive for me but worth it. Nice, capable staff. Clean, newer facility. It was even kid friendly - Kids Netflix and snacks. I felt like I was going to a primary care office unlike the nasty urgent care places I've been to in the past. My whole family got covid tested here, and it was a positive experience. In the past I have received prompt and friendly service but today was a very disappointing day. I checked in online at 9:40, received an email and a text confirming my check in. The text said that the wait was 1 - 1.5 hours. Two hours passed and I sent a text asking for status. I got a call and she said to be there at 12:30, and I would be seen "shortly " after. I arrive and one by one everyone is called back from the waiting room to be seen. Still I wait.... At 1:00, this is no longer "Rapid" and I walked to the front desk to tell them to take me off the list. I did not get an apology or any explanation or even excuse. I will not be back to Rapid Med and I will never provide any other positive reviews to friends, family, or use them as a suggestion. read more

Went due to bad back pain and stomach pains. Scheduled an appointment online waited forever to wait 2 hours more and watched someone just walk right in and get an appointment. They did testing and tested for covid told me I was positive then turned and said I was negative they gave me the wrong results. I won't be returning here. read more

Rapid med or "Slow as Molasses med?" Showed up with a pitbull bit to hand, filled out paperwork with blood running down my hand, waited for 2 patients to leave then was taken to the back room where They had time to take my weight take my temperature take my blood pressure but not once did anyone look at my hand. Then I sit for almost an hour until I'm so frustrated that I get up and walk out. Blood running down my hand and no help. As I drove away I called to talk to Dr. Gomez but he is out of town till Thursday I'm told, I'm transferred to "Barbie" the office manager - she knows my name and my phone number and has my file but won't talk to me about my leaving without getting my birthdate verified. If you're too dang busy to see a customer tell them you're too busy don't make them sit around for an hour with blood dripping down their hand from a dog bite, while they are listening and can hear all the staff laughing and joking. I've gone here 11 yrs it seems. But not anymore. The staff don't care. Terrible service. read more

I came in to get overall blood testing, a few days later, which was today they called and told my results but when I had questions about my results, they told me that that would be considered a separate appointment and charge me again. It's absolutely absurd that I can pay to get tested but when I get my results they basically tell them to you but leave it to you to figure out what they mean and don't help in explaining any questions you may have about them without charging you further. That should absolutely be included in the original testing. I strongly suggest going to your normal doctor versus here where they are absolutely no help whatsoever. Went in today with a toenail that needed removed. The PA was amazing. They also had a PA student. As a healthcare provider I support facilities that teach future providers. The PA student did a great job. The staff was professional and very efficient. The building was nice and up to date. Everything seemed very clean. I will go back anytime I need basic care. I recommend anyone who goes there asks if they have a student. If they do, please make them a part of your experience. Just remember, expose them to patients now or while they are not observed. Called yesterday and was told to call at 8:45 the next morning to be seen that morning. When I called at 8:45, I was told it would be a 3 1/2 hour wait. 7 1/2 hours later, we have still not been seen by a doctor. Service seems uncaring. Prescribe me antibiotics for an ear infection... Go to a primary care a week later because i'm not feeling any better. Still never felt better even after seeing a PC (who prescribed MORE antibiotics). Finally went to an ENT who said everything looked fine, and I probably never had an ear infection to begin with. Fast forward a month later, My lower abdomen is inflammed and I'm suffering from abdominal pain and back pain in the right side. They run blood tests, urine test and tell me everything looks good but they're going to order a ultrasound to check it. Advised some of the blood tests would take a few days, but never called me back. Call multiple times over a 3 day period to get my results for my ultrasound. They told me it arrived Wednesday night and someone should call tomorrow. Call multiple times Thursday, only to hear no ones bothered to look at it. Finally call again Friday morning and they say someone will call. Well sure enough after 20 minutes later (probably because it is pretty freaking important) and they tell me I have 2 gallstones 6mm and I'll need to speak with a general surgeon. Give me no information on what to expect or any precautions (Like a sense of urgency?) They wait till a Friday when its near impossible to get into a doctor. So now I get to suffer the entire weekend. Hopefully, I last till my appointment or else I'll have to bring myself to the emergency room due to a gallbladder attack. read more

Horrible follow up and service. I went in to see the doctor and they prescribed me an anabiotic and some cough medicine. As I was wrapping up, the doctor said that the cough medicine she's giving me may not be strong enough. She said if it is not strong enough, to call back and that she would call in a prescription very quickly. Fast forward a day or two later, and I called back to tell them I need something stronger and they never called me back. I called them, and the receptionist said they are very busy but maybe they would call back tomorrow. She was very rude and not caring at all. What kind of service is that?? My husband & I have been good patients of this practice over the past 5 or so years. This morning, he went on line & logged in to see a doctor there today. He waited more than 2 hours & someone from there just called to tell him that since he just went on Medicare on 1/1/2017, they wouldn't be able to see him any more. "Our Medicare practice is full." I called them back to clarify & they told me the same thing. Most doctors continue to see you after you go on Medicare if you have been a patient in the past. Medicare is in my future in 2017 too & if it is in yours keep this in mind when you visit this group. We are moving on. We can just wait to see our primary care physicians going forward. This review isn't for Rapid Med itself but specifically for Dr. Applequist. This man is the doctor of all doctors! He never has a bad day, makes you genuinely feel like it's going to be ok & just no matter how sick you are, you leave feeling better! How in the heck is any human this consistently awesome??? I'm talking this man is happy, caring, compassionate 24/7 because we've seen him in the early morning, afternoon, 10pm...this man is always like omg, I'm so sorry you're feeling this way, I'm so sorry this happened to you, mom look at me, your baby is going to be ok! After 7+ years in Texas & 3 kids, we've probably seen all the doctors here. They're all great, they've handled my kids broken bones to IV's to strep tests, to shipping them over to the hospital for appendicitis but let me tell you Applequist is a doctor every doctor can learn something from. I can't speak to his qualifications per say, perhaps someone qualified to rate his skill would say he's terrible (although I doubt it) but his bed side manner is truly world renowned! He has the ability to make you feel special, cared for & at ease through really scary times! My husband & I just had a good laugh about Dr. Appleqvist becoming a topic in our house for a week every time a kid gets hurt or sick! It's way past time to review this gem! The online check in system is great. I loved not having to wait around in a lobby when I can just wait at home. Good news is the lobby is a nice place to wait in if you go that route. They called me to tell me when I could come in. The nurse was super nice. I had to take my small son with me and she waited in the room with him while I gave a urine sample. She even played with him. The facility looks very nice. They have nice couch/chair in each room. I asked and they also take younger children. They told me they are not just urgent care. They can also see you as a regular doctors. The PA I spoke to was very nice and did ask a lot of questions about my injury. They took xrays right there and it took her less than 10 minutes to get back to me with my results. read more

I was so incredibly sick and needed to be better. I had promised my daughter I would take her to a Christmas parade and the nutcracker the next day. My voice was gone, my throat hurt so badly throat spray didn't work and I couldn't sleep. No medicine was working. I was feeling so horrible, it was all I could do to get to the rapid med facility. I had never been there before but registering online was easy. I simply took a picture of my license and my insurance card, answered a few questions online and I was registered. I waited about an hour and then headed in. There were no forms to fill out. My insurance covered nearly everything. Much better than your average sick visit. read more
