I spent more money there because I felt like I had the help if needed. Sharidan, your confidence at that front register while I was checking out with the Affirm app!! Girl! You in no way made me feel rushed, a bother, or an inconvenience. You handled that like a pro. Eion, this is the second time you have gone out of your way to help me in the shoe department, the first time you don't even remember but I do. I won't go to any other Dick's, whoever trained y'all did an amazing job! You three are the A-team. I will be talking about y'all!!

I have been to various Sporting stores and treated with the cliche teenagers just waiting to get…read moreoff work; or hiding behind the racks praying you won't ask them for help. As a single mom trying to save every penny; I've always been hesitant about walking into Dick's. I felt their prices were above my head and probably not in the market to help someone like me who's trying to save every dime she can. That was not the case for the second time now going into the Gastonia, NC location. I have been to Walmart, Kohl's, TJ Max, Target, and always end up at Dick's. Last week I was able to find and afford a great pair of lightweight Nikes for my five year old little girl without worrying about having enough cash in my wallet for groceries. From the associate to the cashier, Tracy; all treated me with special attention and care. And yes they truly care. Tracy empathized with me and my little girl and we ended up getting a better pair of shoes then she could have gotten anywhere else. My little girl wears those shoes with pride and as a single mom I was so happy to be able to finally give her something she deserves. Today I had problems at the exact same stores just finding roller skates not even imagining Dick's would have them. No one even cared to even step out to help me look. I was trained to believe Walmart, as much as I don't like going in there, would have them at the best price. Wrong. I ended up at Dick's again in Gastonia. I anticipated just trying to find her size and pray to afford them. Instead of letting me stand there and budget this months finances; a very kind rep walked over. I heard a very kind and professional voice say, "Can I help you find something ma'am?". I did prejudge when I saw the teen walking towards me thinking this jock isn't really going to care to help. Thats what I get for judging. Zach, kindly walked with me to the roller skates and instead of dismissing me with "Sorry we don't have anything." He checked inventory, clarified what I needed, and ended up finding a better brand of roller skates at a much better price than I thought I could afford. I couldn't explain to him how much my girls have been through and how his kindness was going to make life brighter for her because she was getting more than she expected. Instead I told him she was going to be sooo happy. He told me that was all that mattered to him. Lighting doesn't strike twice in the same spot and you can't make people care for people they don't know. This store is not just great, they are human and so their jobs with respect and integrity. After meeting their store manager, Aaron I understood why the staff was so strong. Thank you guys for always giving this mom hope and care to bring back to my girls. You truly are the best. Went today to return my daughters soccer cleats, the second time in two weeks because of wrong size…read more. Anyways went to the customer service desk after entering the store and waited for 5 or so mins while associate was helping another gentleman. While standing there a male associate named Phillip approached me and asked if I was wanting to return an item. I stated yes I was and he stated, and I quote " well you're going to have to go get in the back of the line, we can't have you cutting in front of all these other people". I explained to him that a week prior that I went to desk at first like you do anywhere else and that I was not aware I needed to get in the purchase line. He continued to walk behind me and follow me to the line after I told him I did not appreciate him accusing me of breaking in line as I was not aware this was the expectation . He was super rude and has no place working with the public with his terrible and condescending attitude. Spoke with manager Chandra and she stated she would speak with him, but I assume it will not be handled as she stated this was not typical of him. After reading several reviews on here with similar complaints maybe it's just the culture of the Gastonia store. I will not be back . I came here to see if this store would carry the latest new releases. I thought that maybe, just…read moremaybe, Gastonia would be the hidden gem to nab some of the new releases but I thought wrong. I come to several sneaker stores in this mall and none of them have the latest releases. The associates weren't very helpful. No one greeted me when I walked in. There were about 5 associates there working and only four customers in the store. I finally had to walk up to an associate and ask my question. The women's section of the store is small. They have more kids and men's selection but little women's which sucks. The amount of clothes were sparse. Some tracks only had about 5 items on it. Not sure if I would come back here especially for the latest women's items.

It's probably the nicest shop in the entire mall. Prices are in line with the Belk brand. Not cheap but not overly expensive either. When I checked out they asked if I found everything I was looking for. I mentioned one item I could not find and while I was still unsuccessful she asked all the associates if they had seen or was aware of the product. Lastly they don't wait until the line wraps to the outside of checkout to request help. They were astute enough to request cashier's for assistance. I appreciate as I was in a hurry.
