The Farnam was easily one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at in the Midwest! The entire property feels upscale and thoughtfully designed, and our room was incredibly spacious, elegant, and comfortable! The location is also fantastic. You're right in downtown Omaha near Gene Leahy Mall and within walking distance of the Old Market, restaurants, bars, and plenty to do. We were there over a weekend and loved being able to walk out of the hotel and immediately feel like we were in the middle of everything! We also had dinner at Dynamite Woodfire Grill inside the hotel, which made the stay even better. The plates were not only delicious, but each dish was was plated uniquely and with purpose. The best staff. Genuinely welcomed us, greeted us upon returns. Needed sofa bed turned down & it was done immediately & the fellow promptly brought back an extra blanket for my kiddo. Bar service was friendly & the right amount of chatty (if you also like to sit at the bar for drinks, you know what I'm talking about) We had a Visionary Suite - 1114 - view of the park, the river, ball stadium. Spacious & gorgeous. Felt like an apartment. Definitely recommend if you have kids with you. Grabbed pastries for breakfast & enjoyed the island w stools for an easy in pjs family breakfast. Black out curtains on windows were excellently fitted. Room was very clean. Bed comfy. Towels were the bathsheet size, not tiny hotel towel size. I love nice hotels. I really love The Farnam. My husband had stayed here before & had joked about how he wasn't coming home bc he liked it so much. We stay in upscale hotels regularly, so I thought he was being silly. My husband and I decided to stay here for my birthday overnight after having their woodfire grill experience in October. We really enjoyed the hotel and its technology. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The bathroom was very cleverly divided and extremely functional with a lot of convenient features. We were able to walk to my birthday celebration. Bed felt great and they even gave us a bottle of Champaign to celebrate my birthday. The only misstep was the Parking and being able to enter the hotel initially. Even though we are locals we ended up circling the block because we didn't realize valet was on Harney street. I think that should have been highlighted in our welcome emails. I also didn't like that three wasn't any hot food options between 2 and 5. But overall it was an excellent stay, I would definitely come stay again. read more

This place was really cool. The room and entire property were nice. They have a nice bar and a coffee stand. It's walkable to lots of restaurants. There was construction in the area so it was confusing us when we arrived but the valet was right there to guide us when we approached. Like I said great place to stay. Gorgeous hotel in downtown Omaha within walking distance of many attractions and restaurants. Cheerful front desk staff was very helpful. Their lounge is really cool. Appreciated that they have a coffee bar with food that opens at 6 as we had to be back on the road early the next day and got some to go. I only leave reviews if I have an exceptional experience or a really poor experience. This place is EXCEPTIONAL! If you want to be treated like royalty (while wearing your sweats) THIS is the place! The staff is incredible! We totally fed off the vibe the Saturday staff was giving. They were SO friendly and accommodating! Opened doors, asked where we were headed, gave us directions, followed by suggestions on where to visit on our way. The Sunday staff gave Sunday vibes lol. Much more mellow and laid back. If you're not from Omaha or know much about it, I'd recommend valet parking. Very much worth it! I have to mention the beds as well. I got a GREAT nights sleep! Felt like I slept on a cloud! No vending machine, come prepared there. However when I asked about one, the desk clerk reached in her fridge and just handed me a drink. :) read more

The last time I was in Omaha was 1983. Literally. Got invited for a business trip thinking my company would book Holiday Inn Express or something. I've stayed in terrible hotels all around the country and world so my expectations are very low. I have to say, the Farnam experience starts when driving up to the building. I literally said, "is that it, wow? I was not expecting that." Great building. Valet parking guy ran from nowhere to greet us. Then he held the car door then ran to open the two doors to the front of the hotel. Check in desk. Usually a source of traveler frustration. Total-awesome-pros. Minimum typing. Show ID. Insert credit card. Electronic keys created. Boom - Done. "Do you want something to drink?" What? "We have water, wine, champagne" In an ice-filled bucket, clearly visible behind the desk was champagne and glasses. Not just for "gold members" but me, with no Marriott status. I am a nobody in their "system" but was offered a glass of champagne. Another hotel team member made sure my coworker and I understood how the super-advanced elevators worked with the key cards. Got to the door to my room. Guess what, the key card actually worked without delay. [Reoccurring theme everything works at Farnam] The room is wow. Just wow. Amazing. The wood and the art and the lamps and the pillows. Someone took the time to design the room. Bravo. I don't even like art, but great job. The bathroom. Equally amazing. The shower is gigantic with a traditional showerhead and an overhead one. I will enjoy that in the morning. For goodness sake, there is a motion light under the bathroom sink. Because, you might get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Are you serious right now? [I am going to run out of characters, right?] You want a cocktail at the end of the night? Reasonably-priced ones are available to you in the room. And the ice machine works too. There is a coffee machine. Guess what? They have real coffee cups. Yeah. Ceramic. You aren't getting that at the Holiday Inn Express. At this point I feel like I need to find something wrong with the hotel, room or staff, just to be credible. Nope. Top notch. read more

The hotel is nice and new and the staff is extremely friendly...My biggest complaint is , since this is a new building the windows should be sound proof. I was in one of the suites facing 3th and Farnam and the park and you could hear every car and every motorcycle thru out the night. As far as boujee goes, this place is a visual definition. Located right next to the new and improved Gene Leahy Mall, this new hotel has got everyone's eyes. Everything about it gives "big city" vibes, so you can imagine all of us small town Nebraska people think it's the. Coolest. Ever. Although it was nice, it didn't strike me as one of the best in town, but that's just an honest opinion. On the positive side, this place is as secure as it gets. If you're on floor 3, that's the only floor you have access to besides the lobby. If you don't have your key, well, you're not going anywhere. The stairwell is locked and the only way to get anywhere upstairs is to use your key at the elevator, which will tell the elevator which floor you belong to and bring you there. I guess this over the top security is probably good when it comes to being downtown, but it's a bit unnecessary. Other positives are the location, as it's in the center of everything popular for Omaha when it comes to the downtown nightlife! If you're from out of town this is a great place to stay if you have the budget for it, as it is priceeyyyy. They have a nice restaurant and bar area, and there are a lot of large seminars and different business events held here so it definitely has a "business" feel to it and is not a "being your family and stay here" kind of spot. Some down sides would be their lack of a swimming pool, which is a non negotiable at least for me. The security is great but also kind of a royal pain.. just being honest. Since it's downtown there's also a lot of trash around it - walking in I threw away 4 beer bottles and a few other pieces of trash sitting in the landscape, smh, why do people litter? Sigh.. - Anyway, I digress. As there are ups there are also downs, I would prefer to spend money staying at the cottonwood rather than here, but everyone's different and it all comes down to the experience you're looking to have. read more

I was really excited to get to this hotel after seeing the photos online and knowing it was only a couple months old. We arrived after midnight and we're liking forward to a good night's rest after driving all day. While there was a sign for valet, no service was offered at check-in, so we self parked. The parking is around the block from the hotel and not super obvious or convenient. Ah...the room. Modern, trendy, right up our alley. But this is where the comedy of errors really begins... The bathroom was not cleaned. There were coffee stains all over the sink and floor, the soap dish was still soaking in the sink, toilet paper hanging off the roll from the last guest and hair all over the floor. Not cool, especially upon a midnight arrival. I wish I took pictures, but was too tired to think about it. We called the desk and they promptly sent someone with keys for another room close to ours. This room was much cleaner, but could still have used a touch more detail - specifically on the tile floor, which was a bit sticky from the mopping, and had sneaker marks. I did get a photo of the nightstand glass top, which needed attention. Bed was comfortable and we were enjoying some good sleep when we were awakened abruptly to loud knocks from housekeeping at 7:51am!!! Why is housekeeping even coming the day I check out? Side note: while the bathroom barn door is beautiful, plan to eat your wheaties before attempting to close it. It's probably 300lbs and I have to hurl all of my weight into it to move it back and forth. My husband was in the lobby and stopped at the desk to let them know about the above. They offered a cup of coffee to him. I guess that's what they figured we'd need after losing sleep.... I go to take a shower and my towel is of course, dirty. Next, the best part of our stay. Said barn door FELL on my husband while he was trying to close it from the outside!! Wtf??? We have barn doors in our home and they are secured from the bottom as well as the top. These are not. Ummmm...LIABILITY!!! Had given three stars but after the dirty towel and door falling on my husband, I had to lower it. UPDATE: Upon checkout, we were told our stay was comped. We appreciate that but really hope they do something about the doors. read more

When arriving at this fantastic hotel, we found out they had only been open for four days! You would have never known - the staff was so great and eager to help. I am loving Marriott's Autograph collection - these hotels are fabulous. The ambiance of the entire hotel is trendy, well light, and comfortable. The hotel has 120 rooms and my room was exceptional. From the super soft towels to the freshest smelling bed linens everywhere, it was so clean. BUT to top it all of are the robes. Each room has a rob in it and it is the equivalent of a giant sweatshirt, even including a hood. While this may not sound extravagant, you have to put the robe on - it was perfection! Another awesome tidbit about the Franam is they are very green! I had coffee and orange juice delivered to my room and everything is in recyclable, reusable containers. Even their single use utensils are made of sugar cane and are in a biodegradable non-plastic bag! You also have really nice expresso machines in your room. Headed downstairs for breakfast and got the "express" breakfast. Eggs, potatoes, and fresh fruit - all served crazy fast. The fruit was on point ripe and these breakfast potatoes and eggs were cooked to perfection. I didn't eat any other meals in the restaurant but what I saw coming out of the kitchen was beautifully presented and mouth watering! So last but not least, you can always tell a good hotel by the hotel bar! The Farnam has a great array of cocktails and for my fellow bourbon lovers - they FRESHLY SMOKE bourbon. So not only were the cocktails great, but so were the bartenders! If you find yourself in Omaha needing a hotel, this is definitely the way to go! Enjoy! read more

We stopped here for breakfast and it was phenomenal. 5/5 service, food and atmosphere. The place was absolutely beautiful. I asked for egg whites on my avocado toast and I swear they put like 8 eggs whites on it I was very impressed. We stayed at The Farnam on our short trip to Omaha. It is right downtown and within walking distance to everything. The room was very beautiful! - I couldn't find much info on parking on their website. We did find the parking garage, and it is $17 a day. Valet is $25. - The gym is very nice and clean! They do have one Peloton bike, which is cool. We got a good deal on the room on Agoda. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Omaha! read more

Ambassador member with Marriott and I normally stay at the Courtyard by Marriot which is more convenience for my work in town but this looked like a great property to visit. The interiors were very well done, amazing design, I was very impressed. With that being said, the service at this location is extremely poor which tells me poor leadership/management. First...make sure you ask if housekeeping is cleaning rooms and request your room be cleaned, they will not ask you in advance. Second, don't use the valet, it took me 30 minute to get me vehicle on a Wednesday morning. They told me there was a traffic jam.... Third, when I made a change to my reservation, I asked the front desk assistant if they need to reprogram my key, which is always the case at other hotels. She told me, no, you are fine. Come back today and my key didn't work, she was wrong. Their restaurant is amazing and the chef was very nice but their lack of service and attention to detail makes other restaurants in the area still a better choice, especially with their elevated prices. All in all, I am not sure if I will return, the Courtyard by Marriott was not as attractive but their service was much better and service always matters. Oh yeah, you are probably asking if I asked for the GM to make them aware. I did and i emailed the GM and left a VM for the director of sales, no response. Thus me posting this on yelp, you always give them a chance to make things right. Guess the leadership/management concern about this property was spot on. read more

I stayed at The Farnam on Wednesday and was in town for just one night. Unfortunately early on Thursday morning after my stay, I became very sick with a stomach bug. Throughout the course of the next 24 hours, I was treated with an incredible level of customer service. Scott and Sam at the front desk, Derrick at the valet stand, the cleaning crew and I'm sure a number of other people treated me not just like a customer, but like a family member or a friend that they really needed to help out. There wasn't an over the top formality about any of the interactions because I clearly didn't care about it at the time and they really just looked to find ways to help get me better. It was incredible. Immediately upon falling sick, Scott gave me a late check out and took care of my car that was being brought down by Derrick. After being sick for a few hours, I was able to tell my wife on the West Coast about how I was doing. In the late morning, she started working with Scott on making sure I was getting fluids and trying to get a prescription for me picked up at a local Walgreens. Scott went above and beyond taking the time and putting in effort to work with my wife to help find the best options for me. Derrick drove off to the Walgreens to pick up the prescription and tried to find a way to help get me the prescription even though Walgreens and my insurance weren't cooperating. With no medicine on the way, my wife and the hotel team determined that I should head over to the hospital and Derrick gave me a ride. Upon returning from the hospital and starting to feel better, the team greeted me at the hotel genuinely asking how I was doing and how they could help in any way. They seemed to truly want to make sure I was doing okay and make sure they were helping me in any way possible just as they would a good friend or family member. I was treated with the same care in the morning as I checked out. I couldn't say thank you enough to the entire team at The Farnam and I hope that future guests are treated with the same genuine compassion and thoughtfulness if they ever need it. read more

I am writing this review based off of booking and customer service. I went directly to the Farnam website to book and found the room I wanted. The price was supposed to be 226.51 with taxes and fees. I click the giant "book now" button and pay. A few minutes later I get an email confirmation saying the total was $303.59. Confused, I call CS and learn that I had clicked on a third party button and that particular third party charges $114 for taxes and fees on a room that was only $189 to begin with. Why on earth is there a third party booking option directly on their site? I call and try to cancel and of course am told it's a non-refundable booking and I should have paid better attention to how I navigated their site. I spent the first 40 minutes on the phone with CS just trying to prove that it was my booking to begin with. Very frustrating experience and a complete scam. read more

This new hotel in the trendy old market is gorgeous! I checked in May 2020 when they had just opened and let me tell you it did not disappoint. It's centered within walking distance of various food, coffee shops, trendy nightlife spots and so much more! Staff is very friendly and helpful as well.
