Since my last review I've been here many times, mainly to sell items but I always check out the…read morenewest inventory. While I rarely buy anything for myself, after being here so many times I do think it's a well run operation. The reason why I don't usually shop is because it's often hard for me to find things that work for my figure. The prices are higher than you would find at thrift but I've never found anything that is worn, stained, or ripped so they do have their sorting process down. Some things do appear slightly dated to me, but maybe it's more that those selections are geared towards an older woman. The gals working the counter are consistent and always very pleasant. They went out of their way to pray for me once when I was having a bad day. I thought that was very considerate and a step above. I will forever be grateful that they cared enough to do that! On the downside the space is challenging. I think they do the best that they can with the L shaped layout of the building. This is not the place to bring a stroller since the isles are tight. Children's fashions I feel are their strongest selection. Especially around the holidays when you're looking for festive wear for pictures, gatherings, etc. I need to remember this for next year! There's even a small open area for your children to stay busy while you're on the hunt. Keep in mind though if selling; they are picky about what they take as far as conditions, brands, age, etc. They have a flyer that outlines what they take and it's helpful to you in your own sorting process. Clothes only need be folded in a basket, no bags. They don't take items on Mondays or after the 20th of every month. So while you won't make a ton of money selling here you'll leave with more than you would if you had a yard sale. And that's good enough for me.

Upon entry it is a skylit setting of a large number of jewelry display counters. Staff are amazingly attentive and knowledgeable. They offer something to drink and ask whatever they can do to make you feel comfortable enough to spend big bucks on beautiful jewels, watches and other elegant fittings. This is a beautiful store with beautiful expensive things. They are full service providing everything from jewelry cleaning, repair, replacement, sizing, whatever is needed to keep your jewels looking their finest. This is not free. These are high end professional jewelers who know what they are doing. Replacing a watch battery is $15. Making a ring a size bigger, about $125. Replacing a tiny stone and resizing, reinforcing prongs, about $225. If you love estate pieces as I do, there are 3 cases. A gold filigree type emerald ring surrounded by peridots was $1500. A large opal in a gold setting, $1600. A 1960s pink opal, $600. I have to say that skilled jewelers are harder to come by. To stock watch batteries when people don't even wear watches anymore, except us old folks, is no longer a Walmart counter service. If I was in the market for high end jewelry and wanted the lifelong service for my investment, I would be very secure doing business here. This is not a mall jewelry store with bright lights making every diamond seem to call your name. This is a first class, no kidding high end place where you get what you pay for. I took a few photos but was worried about appearing to be casing the joint, so no actual offerings photographed. You will just have to go and see for yourself!

There were piles of dog hair all over the floor, which obviously had not been cleaned in a very long time. The clasps that hold the dogs collar in the washing tubs were broken, and the place smelled. The Olde Mill House Shoppes is two different buildings - the old stone house and an old barn - that have a wide selection of stuff that women love to shop like rugs, furniture, lighting, home decor, kitchen gadgets, pantry items, women's clothing and accessories. They also have a floral department that I think makes wreaths. My favorite part of the shoppes was the old stone house. Aside from admiring the lovely architecture I enjoyed looked at kitchen gadgets, kitchen decor, pantry items like bread mixes and such. I loved the creek of the floors too. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. Aside from the above, there was plenty more to look at like some linens, wall art, candles, etc. Overall, this was a fun place to explore and a great place to stop in while in Lancaster County.

Some people get very touchy when their clothing is rejected but that's just the name of the game. And yes it's more expensive than a thrift store, but not by much and you really do get what you pay for. I love Jill and Libby and they really do love their customers. They also have a great rewards program, so I rarely ever pay full price. Please never change!!
