Honestly, we looked forward to seeing what seasonal bit this creative group would come up with! We had always assumed a church with a sense of humor would align with our community's more progressive values, and the values of Christ himself: acceptance, compassion, empathy. However, I found this one to be extremely distasteful. We could have lived in ignorant bliss, assuming this church was a community we could see ourselves rooting for! But now that this less tasteful billboard has been posted, we did a little digging and are quite sure that isn't the case. How rich does your pasture have to be to afford some class? I wouldn't donate to this community if you do align your values with those of Christ.

My only issue is not something that makes these guys lose a star, but it is something personal. I have issues with vertigo and stuff, so the service can become overwhelming. However, I discovered that sitting instead of standing never gets me the stink-eye, and nobody has thrown a shoe at me, thus far; so, WINNER!! All goofiness aside, I believe the church does amazing things, and both Casey and his wife are groovy! One thing I absolutely LOVED was the fact that Pastor Treat used good, old-fashioned paper for his sermon notes, and he had them with him as he preached. I'm not sure why, but seeing that made me so very happy! In conclusion, the church is bright and shiny, the pastor energetic and uplifting. But, more importantly, everyone was so welcoming and kind! Everyone seemed engrossed in important conversations and not in ministering or welcoming visitors. I can see how the reception would be very disappointing for new Christians or those seeking to know more about Christ. In fact if you fall into either of these groups (new Christians or seeking to know more about Christ), please ask someone you know, who is a Christian for church recommendations. Visit those churches firsts, and if you still want to visit this church then go. I don't want you to be disappointed with religion from the start. Well, after being there for about 15 minutes, we were finally greeted by a guy who told us that no one said a word to him when he first came to the church, so he felt like he should come welcome us. He told us many months went passed before he decided to stand up and tell the congregation that he was there. (I'm assuming he did this during the designated time in the worship service.) What is that? Get this. We sat a row away from one deacon and three rows away from another--we didn't find this out until near the end of the service when the deacons and staff were called to the pulpit to be prayed for (church transitioned today to a new team). Neither of these guys approach us when the congregation was asked to say, "Hello to someone near you." Wow. Is this a demonstration of the second greatest commandment? Unfortunately, there are a lot of churches out there like this. Churches like this would probably ignore Jesus if he came visiting. I'm giving this church three stars because of the lone Christian that did come to greet us.

And each time that I have come, God has used the Pastor to speak prophetically into my life through His word. It has been so amazing and so on point, Confirmations, Encouragement each time!
