Although we have not regularly attended (we are attending another local church where our children have lots of friends) people remember us! And when we have attended we have been greeted warmly. A lot of churches are so big they don't even notice when someone new arrives. Not here. We have considered moving from our current church to LCBC because of this feeling of friendliness. It feels more friendly than the church we've been attending for years! They also sing songs that we know (i.e. fairly traditional hymns and praise songs, but with energy) which may seem like an odd comment but the current trend it seems is to sing a bunch of unfamiliar pop-ish type songs and you end up viewing it as a concert instead of interactive worship which defeats the purpose!

The food bank is open on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month from 4:30pm - 6:30pm. The Father's House offers a full kitchen to use for private events. Sadly, the day of my visit was to celebrate the life of an amazing woman. The pastor and the volunteer staff all showed compassion and kindness during this difficult time. I am grateful knowing that my bestie and her family find comfort, solace and peace at The Father's House.

Another one was to spend more…read moretime with my mother. 2 birds with one stone: We decided to try out Faith Lutheran, because it is within walking distance of my home. The main problem that I have is that the pastor at this church is female. Now, in the bible, it says that only a man should hold the holy title of priest, pastor, ect. I understand that this is 2009 and that a woman can rightfully and skillfully do any job that a man can do, I have never heard a female minister preach a sermon that has ever impacted my life or really spoken to me. She is a new pastor there, only been there about a year, and my first impression is that she seemed kind of unorganized to me. Other than that, and some noisy children running rampant in the church, I didnt think it was too bad. I dont know if i will be back any time soon but it was a nice experience to try something new, and everyone there seemed interested in getting to know my mother and I.

We started…read moreattending FLC when our son was old enough to attend confirmation and the church we were attending at that time did not have a confirmation program that met his needs. We found the members of the church to be very friendly and supportive. The congregation is small enough that you can learn everyone's name and they can learn yours. We have had 3 female pastors, who all had their own set of strengths. Currently we have an interim-pastor who is male. He has been with us for about 2 years and is willing to continue in this position for many more years, if the congregation continues to approve. One of the greatest strengths of the current pastor is that he is very music-oriented, playing his guitar and singing. We also have a choir director/pianist/singer who is fantastic in every way a choir director can be fantastic (encouraging, friendly, talented, motivated, etc.). He would be very welcoming to have more members in the choir as singers and musicians. Faith Lutheran Church has a children's Sunday school that all ages of youth attend. The kids enjoy each other and enjoy the activities they do together. The Sunday school include boys, girls, younger kids, older kids, kids with disabilities, kids without disabilities, etc. The older ones tend to help and assist the younger ones as a natural thing to do. Of course there are Sunday school teachers who instill God's teaching through word and actions. The kids love their teachers. The kids are an integral part of the church service as acolytes, children's sermon, and children's offering program (congregation members place coins into the kid's little sacks during a specific time of the service, while we sing "Jesus Loves Me") that the kids have decided to donate the proceeds for the year to Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center. The kids plan to take a field trip to Little Bit in the Spring to view the operation and horses. Through the year, the kids also fully participate during many church celebrations, such as, Christmas play, Easter Breakfast, etc. Church members are welcomed to participate in any activities that they choose to participate. This includes, choir, church service, Sunday school, Bible study, community dinners, Lunch Bunch, quilters, garden or building maintenance, office activities, after church coffee hour, etc. Whether a person chooses to participate more or less or not at all, everyone is welcome with joy for their attending when they can on Sunday morning at the 10:30AM church service. Sunday school is just before the church service at 9AM.

Mountain View is a Christ-centered church with wonderful pastors that give thought provoking…read moresermons. They have an active youth program with Sunday school, weekly youth group meetings and mission trips. The church members are friendly and willing to answer questions or just say "hi" to newcomers. The coffee bar is a favorite to all, withthe hot coffee encouraged to be brought with you into service. I would recommend this church to anyone who wants to put Christ in the forefront of their lives.
