I noticed that their "gem" necklaces were just hollow plastic. To me that's horrible to be selling something that obviously fake. For those 2 reasons I'm deducting stars. The festival was Thursday Friday and Saturday September 5-7 2024. My recommendation is.... Get there early! The desserts sold out each night and the lines can get very long. All of the food we tried were great. I love the potato pancakes with a little applesauce on them. So good! There were live bands playing near the restaurant and another German band playing in the pavilion. There was also traditional dancing in the pavilion. All of the food and beverages stands take tickets only. So you buy tickets for $1 each at a tent and then buy the food or drinks that you want. Admission was $5 a person.

It's been a while since I've been to the festival proper, but I grew up attending and also going to…read morethe parade. There is usually a vendor tent, a singing contest, activities for kids, a few rides, and a church service on the last Sunday. This year we went to the parade, and it was a beautiful day for it! A couple years ago, they had municipal garbage trucks in the parade, a real WTF moment. This year was better, but I really miss the crazy Shriners on their mini bikes or other small vehicles performing tricks and such! The calliope at the end used to be a classic touch, but that's gone now too. I still enjoy seeing area school bands (from as far away as Cloverdale & Tipton) and other community groups. It's a good family event because the kids love catching candy that people throw from floats. We had a picnic with my family during the parade this year. I'd like to see a few more interesting additions to the parade, but all in all, a good source of memories for me and a fun small town tradition.

Southside had new vendors - Meijer, CFA. Picked up a Carmel see-thru fanny pack and a different sport ball on mini 4-ink pen. Another cute blown up if remembered an eagle. Stay safe. That might mean staying home. Bring a hat, sunscreen, fan, and lots of water. Due to the heat, it was not worth it to me. However, I am glad for the celebration. They need water mist fans like previous years.

I am always up for an adventure, and this one was no exception. If you like stepping back in time, then you need to come check out the Feast of the Hunters Moon, a reenactment of a mid-1700s trading post. With a reenactment comes reenactors. There are hundreds of them, dressed in traditional garb, armed with artillery, hanging out in their traditional tents, huddled around the fire. It's quite the sight to see. These reenactors lead a variety of events, from traditional dances to church ceremonies for a few denominations. Vendors also set up shop, selling everything from furry frontier hats to fine china to swords to mini telescopes. Best of all, there's BUD'S ROOT BEER (the best of the best) and FOOD: apple dumplings, fried dough, pork chops, stews/soups, sausages, breads. Most of it is pretty tasty, so bring cash and your appetite for sure! This event is definitely family-friendly and a nod to our Indiana history. Mark your calendars to experience this for sure!

They offer U-pick apples & Pumpkins or if you're in a hurry they're ready to grab from the red barn. Pumpkins are super reasonably priced at $.40 a Lb or pie pumpkins for $3. The concession stand is open on Saturday & Sunday. I love the fried biscuits with apple butter & of course you must get the apple cider slushies!! I don't remember seeing it prior, but they had apple cobbler warmed up with ice cream, delicious! I just love this place so much! Don't leave without a bag of apples, Carmel apples, apple cider & get some of those fried biscuits! Highly recommend bringing the whole family.

They have completely embraced the "hot honey" trend and are making some amazing honeys that are perfect for a nice "drizzle" on pizza, a Christmas ham or even as a sweetener in your green beans or spaghetti sauce! An outside musical concert doesn't compare to those performed indoors. The sound is incredible. The venue is clean and nicely organized. The VIP section is a plus for us ...we shall call ourselves...seasoned fans. One can clearly see the owners have an invested interest in our community. They are tirelessly working to improve the venue and come up with ways to offer a more enjoyable and inviting experience for the concert goers that appeal to a variety of Hautians. .
