During the roughly three hours I was there I interacted with a number of staff and did not have any issues. The tables were cleaned pretty quickly. It was up to the guests to choose what they wanted to eat or drink. The bar staff were really nice and their selection was small, which is what I expected. Finger foods were good. They had a nice charcuterie setup with a decent variety of cheeses and meats. They also served dinner in buffet style. The food was alright, nothing special but nothing really wrong either. The portions they served were on the small side, but one could go back for more. The main spaces, restrooms, and everything appeared clean. Overall, they did a nice job and it's a nice venue.

In short, I thought the space worked out great for the event. The event had less than 100 guests, catering by Pepper Moon Catering of Greensboro, a cash bar, music, an Epson projector and screen for a presentation/slideshow, and speakers with microphone. Take a look at my pictures to get a feel for the event space, vibe, and decor. On a Friday night, parking was free, plentiful, and easy. Congdon Yards consists of two 1920s Adams-Millis hosiery factory buildings in downtown High Point, next to Truist Point (baseball stadium). The property is named after the Congdon family, founders of Old Dominion Freight Line of Thomasville. Congdon Yards isn't the first time these old multistory brick buildings have been repurposed into event spaces and for other uses. In 2010, I attended a wedding at "The Loft at Union Square," which I believe is now "The Loft" at Congdon Yards: https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-loft-at-union-square-high-point The current incarnation of Congdon Yards opened in phases beginning in late 2020. The first building, branded as "Plant Seven," opened in spring 2021. The second building, The Factory, opened on June 12, 2023. The Loft is located on the fourth floor of The Factory. There are a multitude of rooms and event spaces, designed for weddings, parties, business meetings, lectures/presentations, etc. There are also public common areas, a cafe, a restaurant, offices, and "The Generator." The Generator provides access to industrial-grade woodworking machines for niche projects, an obvious nod to High Point, "the furniture capital of the world." The cafe is called Lil's Coffee Bar. It's located at "The Commons" in Plant Seven. It's only open Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. The restaurant is called Earl's Landing. It's located on the first floor of The Factory. It's fine dining; open Monday-Saturday for dinner only and Sunday for brunch only. In general, Congdon Yards is a nice upgrade to High Point's downtown scene, which continues to evolve thanks to Business High Point-Chamber of Commerce, the HP365 nonprofit, state grants, and private donations and investments. It's well done and similar to a lot of other popular and successful revitalization projects around the country, where "historic" buildings have been restored and adapted for modern mixed use. Like those developments, the Congdon Yards designers did a good job blending contemporary elements into the old factory spaces while preserving their rustic feel. I have had the worst experience with this catering company. They were one of two caterers to choose…read morefrom with my all inclusive package I had with my venue. I called in July to book a tasting and had it scheduled for the end of the month. I spoke with a gentleman and went over the menu options and we chose what items we wanted for the tasting. The week before the tasting, I called to confirm the time and thank goodness I did because they had no record of our appointment at all. So I had to reschedule it, for September! Then the lady I spoke with sent me a completely different menu of items to choose from for the tasting, so we had to make all new selections. They also offered us the choice of downgrading from using real china to plastic plates and utensils to include an appetizer to our package. Turns out, when I spoke to the venue, they weren't allowed to do that and they were trying to take business away from the rental company for the dishes to put more money from our package and apply it to their company instead. A week after I spoke with the venue about it, they sent me an email saying they were no longer working with Culinary Visions, but if we still wanted to use them as our caterer, they would honor that since it was offered when we signed our contract. Two weeks later, 4 days before my tasting is scheduled with Culinary Visions, they email me and tell me that my appointment has been cancelled because they are no longer doing business with my venue. They are completely unorganized and unprofessional. I am glad that I went with a different catering company.
