The theater operates out of a storefront next to a laundromat, and they are just starting out. However, what I saw on Friday was extremely promising. The show was low budget, yes, but the script choice was impeccable. Avow is a beautiful, challenging, and timely piece of theater and it was admirably performed. Not at all the safe, hokey selection I would expect from a theater still in its infancy. TMPAC has some balls, as it were, and I look forward to seeing a community theater tackle more provocative shows like this one. The space itself is large and well maintained with newly renovated restrooms and comfortable seating. They don't offer real concessions yet, but I did see that cookies and bottled water were made available to patrons free of charge (though donations were accepted).

I just recently signed my daughter up to take a dance class here. The studio is a beautiful place…read more(although parking can be difficult at times). The owner is there all the time and checks in often to make sure everything is going well. There is a nice area for kids to do homework and moms to hang out while waiting. Price wise, I don't think they're the cheapest nor the most expensive. They did let us go buy her dance "gear" somewhere else aka target, which saved some money since some studios make you buy directly from them. They offer a variety of classes at lots of times, which is great for a working mom with a busy schedule.

CSF has been putting on free outdoor performances for 26 years at various locations around Cleveland. This year the 2 plays being produced are As You Like It and Measure for Measure. The production of As You Like It is edited to about 1 hour 45 minutes without intermission, and has modern costuming and touches including cell phones and recent songs. The real twist is that a number of the roles have been gender swapped; especially interesting since Shakespeare provides characters that were swapping genders already and all roles were played by men and boys. Overall the production was fun, had nice energy and was just simple and casual enough to make it work with the outdoor setting. The actors were energetic and personable. The leads were especially good and members of the company played multiple roles. Even though they use Shakespeare's words, they manage to make it easy to follow the show and understand what is going on; they are especially good at hitting the jokes and generating crowd interaction. I would recommend giving the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival a visit for a lovely way to spend a Summer evening outdoors soaking in some entertaining theater. The price is right (FREE!) and the performances are a great way to be introduced to Shakespeare or to see one of your favorites. Check out their schedule and stop by when they are near you.

My parents and grandma are what I call theater groupies and have season tickets to all the major…read moretheaters in the area and occasionally drag me along when one of their group can't attend, not that I complain. This is a small theater that tries to showcase local play writes as much as possible. Most of their plays are controversial, but have deep story lines that are very emotional. The actors are phenomenal at drawing those emotions out of you and really making your heart feel the stories. Make sure you read the plot of what you are going to see before you go so as not to be too surprised.
