St. John's Episcopal, the oldest church still standing in Rutherfordton

We really enjoyed our stay. The building is very cool if you're into historic preservation like me. The location is great for exploring the little downtown of Rutherfordton (check out the numerous historical markers, murals, and gold coins embedded in the sidewalks), the Thermal Belt Trail, etc., & nearby to some great places to eat & drink like The Copper Penny across the street and Yellow Sun Brewing a couple of blocks away. However, the gourmet breakfast prepared by Ms. Donna and served on china each morning stole the show - delicious food & a great experience. This place has tons of character - runs circles around the monotonous chain places on the By-pass. It's a great experience - give it a shot!

We stayed here for a wedding that was in Rutherfordton. This place was by far my favorite place that we've ever stayed. It's so quaint and beautiful! We'd never been to a bed & breakfast before so I was a little bit nervous but it exceeded my expectations by far!! We stayed in room 1 which was The Firehouse Suite, right off the main living area/kitchen. We felt like we were really at home and loved having access to snacks/water the whole time. Such a clean and quiet environment, the room was amazing! The softest sheets and pillows and a huge tub/shower! The staff was so sweet and helpful and the food was delicious! We will definitely be staying again. We've even said we'll come back to Rutherfordton just to stay here!

This place is absolutely sensational! The inside has been re-renovated and looks amazing, especially around Christmas time. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. It's definitely a diamond in the rough for this part of North Carolina. People were skeptical and thought the place looked haunted by the photos online but it has a very pleasant feel and I would stay there again and again!! The lady that makes breakfast in the morning is an amazing cook she made the best fajita I've ever had, she even saved it for me because I woke up late.

King bed with Italian sheets- luxury! Sleeps like a dream!

This was a fun filed event! (I didn't find a yelp page so I made this for One 13)…read moreWe never knew this place was here. I seen Stephen Freeman was going to have a show here. Stephen is a Elvis Tribute Artist. I have had him on my Facebook since 2013 but I have never seen him in person. So being a Elvis fan this was a night I was looking forward to. The show was sold out. When you arrive you are showed where to sit. This was a dinner show so they served everyone food first. The food was catered in by a local restaurant, by the name of The Coop. We were in for a treat. The food was amazing and plenty to each person who bought a ticket. They had Ham, turkey, & stuffing with gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce,Mac and cheese. And open bar with beer & Wine. With a banana pudding desert which was delicious! Then the show started with the DJ and they were handing out cool gifts to random people. The DJ announces Stephen and everyone started recording and taking photos as he came in. Stephen Did a mix of songs including a bunch of gospel & Christmas. He even invited Hunter Haynes up to Sing a local guy who loves Elvis and Singing, did an amazing job on stage. They both had everyone getting up to dance and taking video's and photos, it was a fun time. Especially sitting at the table meeting new people and making new friends who also were enjoying the show. When the show was over everyone went to meet him and get photos with him. It was nice finally meeting him after having him as a friend for over 9 years on my Facebook. Hope to see him perform again sometime.

The waitress has a hard time finding our table she walked around at two different times look for our number and when she found our table she I'm sorry those numbers are hard to find. I think the numbers should be taller so the wait staff can see them. Anyway the food was good and tasty. But the falafel bowl is kinda dry and the tzatziki sauce tastes like sour cream. It come out of plastic container. I added Greek dressing to my falafel bowl. It was better. ( please work on the falafel bowl no one likes a dry bowl) My friends had gotten the Hot Mother Clucker is was so delicious . The nitty gritty bowl my friend says it was good but there were burnt flakes in it she wasn't sure what that was. Pearl Sugar Waffles were good by way to sweet. The "Big fatty "breakfast burrito was very small and thin for $12.00 not worth the price but it was delicious. I know this is a small town and heard this was a great place to eat. So we decide to try it out. Needs a little tweaking between the servers. Free water cups are 4oz , they should actually have clear plastic water cups that are a little larger. It would've also been nice to have a pitcher of water or something over by the tea. So you could fill up your own glass. When the Resturant is busy you had to wait to ask for a refill by then your food is cold. This place could be good if tweaked. If you're not sure about my review check it out yourselves. Good luck.

It was so nicely put together and the attention to details were definitely appreciated. The cabin came with everything you may need, while keeping it clean and organized. I loved the little touches like having puzzles and kid books in the loft. The touches of making it 'bird themed' were just enough, and didn't make you feel like you were in a Hitchcock movie. While this was a kid free weekend for us, we definitely could see it being perfect for a family as well. Everything was well maintained. Communication with the staff was fantastic and we were really able to unplug and unwind. If you do get antsy and want to go shopping or exploring, Lake Lure is just a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again.
