We were greeted by a couple of really happy and smiley waitresses at the bar to take our order. Straight away on a chalk board clear to see was the free WiFi and the password, which was pretty cool I thought, rather than having to mooch around or ask for it! We opened a tab, no problem as we were going to be having something to eat. On the first round of drinks, my friend asked for a Tia Maria and coke, but they didn't have any Tia Maria in stock - but I can understand this - and offered her a Kaluha instead, which was just fine. We went and sat in the garden with the menu, but we were told that they were waiting on a delivery and therefore there was no salmon or chicken or something else...... It was no great dramas as actually what we wanted was something totally different, so I guess we were lucky. I could see you being a bit miffed if you were hell bent on having one of the other 3 things that were out of stock. Having said that, the charm and smiles made it so that you would be hard pushed to have the hump about anything really. I had a sausage and onion sandwich and asked them to out cheese in it - which they happily did - and my friend had a halloumi burger, both served with chips. Mine was lovely, served on granary bread, and had decent "posh" sausages and not the bulk purchase type you can get and had loads of flavour and my friend said hers was probably the best halloumi burger that she has ever had, quote "coming from a Turk that lives on this stuff, that is saying a lot!". Liked the fact you had sauce bottles and not sachets! + point :) Service was great, some scatty moments, decent pub lunch food, so all in all I will be going back here :) I looks like in the winter you would be fighting over the comfy sofas by the fire place that I spotted when I walked in!

We used to come to this 'back water' pub 20 years ago when the food was great, in recent years it has been a sad reflection of British Pub life with an empty car park and we have avoided it. We saw that it had reopened as a pub/pizza restaurant and popped in for lunch yesterday on a bright sunny day. The dark old pub has been transformed, the new owners who have been here now for a year have created a beautiful garden with lots of tables overlooking the wide open fields and the food was great. Mainly pizza and salads but they also do an 'oven baked breakfast' which I am just itching to try and take away. This bright and happy pub restaurant deserves to be very successful, looking forward to coming back with the kids very soon.

What an absolute treat. I went here with the boyff for…read morepost shopping dinner and i really liked the place. The sun was shining, so although we booked a table in the restaurant, the friendly staff asked if we wanted to have our dinner in the garden, so we did. The views are like something out of "Old England" with rolling green fields and trees and you could easily just while the hours away, relaxing, drinking cool refreshing drinks. For starters the bruschetta was fresh and really tasty chowed that down quick as you like, the boyff had chicken strips, which we perfectly okay, but nothing special to be honest and I think it was re-constituted chicken and not chicken breast. For mains the list of pizzas were not your typical type and there was an excellent selection and quite random toppings you could ask for, since this place is raved for about it's pizza, I opted for Ingeus pizza - chicken, pepperoni, meatballs, onion and mozzerella - with extra gorgonzola cheese and green peppers. The boyff went for a pasta dish - penne, tomato and bechamel sauce with chorizo and peas. I enjoyed my pizza it was cooked very well and evenly. Although I got a bit of food envy with the boyffs pasta as that was really good. They welcome children and you could see the waitress taking time out to pick up children that had fallen over and run back and forth with jugs of squash for people's kids in the hot weather. Although at one point, there was a child that kept kicking a ball under our table and feet whilst we were eating, but I blame the parents and not the pub! The decor is lovely and well maintained, in the bar area, which is quite limited, - but perfectly formed!! - is a TV that they have some sport on, but it is on silent and tucked away, most definitely there if you want to keep an eye, but not at all giving this a sports bar feel. I thought it a bit random that I got a glass of wine in what I would say was a 1/2 pint Carlsberg glass, but there you have it. The whole place just had a relaxing friendly vibe to it and all the staff had smiles. This is definitely on my favourite local places to go to when wanting pizza/pasta. The prices are equivalent to those of the chain places, but here the atmosphere is nicer and the selection better. Make sure you do call up ahead though as a lot of the time they are fully booked.

The roast dinners have plenty of meat, there are enough vegetarian options to keep me happy and staff are friendly and attentive (though you do have to go to the bar to make orders, they won't come to the table to offer you drinks/food). The décor is in a traditional pub style, with dark wooden furnishings and bar, and is well maintained by the relatively large team of staff employed there. The main downside of the place is it's tendency to be so incredibly busy at weekend lunchtimes, so that it is a bit of a risk to drop by as you may not get a table, or somewhere to park, or may have to wait a long time for them. There are no other places in the vicinity to fall back on, you will have to head back into Barnet. Having said all that, it's definitely a great pub, but maybe too many people know of it's greatness!

The staff were friendly and smiley, as they always are. We ordered lunch and it didn't take long to come out at all. Every dish was cooked perfectly and was spot on and delicious. The team they have working here really provide great customer service. So, it is now my number one gastro pub in the area and have beaten the other four by a consistent and fair mile! I'm going back next week with other friends :). Just because it is a solid reliable place with darn decent food and totally above average team.

The patio area outside could do with a clean and the ashtrays being emptied. The food arrived quickly and was freshly cooked and on warm plates. I'm not sure if there is, a back beer garden area, but there us a small fenced off area at the front, but you cant have your drink out there after 7.30- 8pm, due to it being a residential area so a bit of a pisser if unlike me, you are a smoker. As expected with a Weatherspoons, the food & drink is cheap, also as usual with Weatherspoons, it is of a decent standard. The on tap larger's, ales & Ciders are good, the pipes are obviously kept well clean. The staff are friendly & helpful and service normally swift. It is ideally situated near Elstree Film studios, so handy for a quick drink before going in to watch the Big Brother Evictions, or before going into the studio's to record Big Brothers Bit On The Side. Some of the regular clientele look a bit rough & ready (Like in most Weatherspoons) but don't let that put you off, they have always been nice to me & my friends, at worst some can be a bit pissed, but harmless.

Went up to the bar for a drink and it was poured quickly and properly. A few other snacks are available too. No table service I don't think but a good spot to grab a beer, watch the match, or just have a drink with friends. Bathrooms were not anything to write home about but they get the job done. Some people out front smoking but I didn't see anyone drinking right outside. Parking is wherever you like on the street but most people just walk up. Obviously right along Main Street and the bus route so it's easy enough to get too. Cocktails, some seltzers, NA options, eight beers on draft, and the usual bottled domestics or imports. Big fan of the stained glass on the ceiling. Adds a nice atmosphere and plays well with the lights inside. Photo attached just because. Several take out spots that also have drinks and another similar pub nearby. This is closest to the train station and not as loud as a few other bars so it gets my vote. Cheers.

They have a live band/singer on quite a lot, which, if you have had a few, then it is really good fun, you can dance around like a bit of a prat and you're left alone to do so. The service is absolutely fine, you don't have to wait long at all to get a drink. There are other times, I have had one drink and left as just not feeling the atmosphere. They also show the sport in here which it is good for. I will return, as on the Borehamwood High Street, there are only a couple that play the football/rugby. I wouldn't go here if I wanted a "nice evening" out though, just not that kind of place.
