The instructor will guide you how to get to where you want to do step by step. Dance is the only activity Alzheimer Association recognizes as that can be good to prevent and mitigate dementia. They offer high quality, weekly dance classes for all ages, including adults, with both tuition and drop-in payment options for adults. I grew up taking classes in jazz, ballet, and tap, and had taken classes as an adult in modern, hip-hop, and contemporary/lyrical. However, when I started taking classes at RDT, I hadn't taken any classes, consistently, for over 10 years. I immediately fell in love with the RDT studio, the welcoming atmosphere, and high quality dance instruction and feedback. The owner and director, Stephanie Kovac, doesn't treat adult dancers as an afterthought; she prepares material, gives real feedback, and treats us like any other dance student... someone who wants to learn and improve. I've become more and more committed to my dance classes since that first class a year-and-a-half ago and now I jokingly say that I'll be there, "whenever the doors are open". Dancing at RDT has brought so much joy to my life through dancing, friendship, and the satisfaction that comes from doing something you love and seeing improvement.

There's studios that offer free open pole, cost less, and have my class time I've been going to for years still available.

Instructors, the front desk, their advertising and everything will tell you that unused classes will roll over to the following month, but no one will ever explain to you there's a cap to the amount that roll over until after you're automatically charged hundreds of dollars for months of classes that don't exist. If you explain to them your family member is dying and you were too busy taking care of their hospice plans to attend classes and had no idea this policy existed and ask if there's anything they can do to help you, they will tell you that you signed a contract and should've read it better. I have loved the classes here, but my heart is broken over their lack of communication and compassion. This is incredibly unfair, and I just want you to know the reality of what you're signing up for before you get trapped by predatory policies and fine print no one will ever mention like I did.
