Dr Tuchinsky and his staff of two were nice. I paid over $2.5K and it was a waste of my money. Pls don't use their services. He pushes and uses Apex products like a salesman. Do your research!! Apex was taken to court for selling supplements that contained lead. Dr T exclusively uses Apex. His program was not beneficial to me and my chronic gastritis. My questions were never fully answered and I felt rushed with my phone appts which lasted no more than 7 min top. In our initial consultation, he rushed it and didn't listen carefully so that he can create a program specifically for me. He believed the supplements were a cure all and they were not. I had ulcers and alot of the products had citric acid. If I wasn't vigilant in reading and research, those products would have made it much worse. I believed he was a functional medicine doctor that could guide me. Once I completed the program which most of the supplements I paid for I could not use, I never heard from him again. He got paid and I got screwed. Pls look the other way and find a real Dr. I also noticed on the blood work he ordered, there was another doctor's name on the sheet, not his. That was a big red flag. If you suffer with gastritis there are more quality supplements on the market like Global Healing Center that make a difference. Pls do your research and find a bonafide Natural pathic Dr that will take time to listen and ask questions and prescribe a program that fits your needs. Dr T ain't worth what he charges. read more

Total disappointment. I was charged hundreds for bloodwork that insurance would have covered at Labcorp--and it was less thorough than what a regular doctor orders. The provider is a chiropractor who plays on health fears, inflates prices, and offers only vague explanations. Neither he nor his assistant could clearly explain what was "wrong" or how their supplements would help. Red flags everywhere. read more

This was the biggest scam and my experience was very similar to the other one star review. Dr. T is a chiropractor and attempting to practice outside of his scope in my opinion. The office said they could analyze blood work I had done recently. When I sent it over they were inputted incorrectly which made it seem like my levels were either dangerously high and low. Dr. T said that I need to do some restrictive diet and did not ask any questions. He kept used medical buzz words like "mitochondria" and "ATP" and how I could fix them. He also mentioned I may have parasites and asked if I eat seafood a lot. I am vegetarian. After the appointment I knew it was a scam, asked for money back, which they gave without question. I write this review for the benefit of others, so they do not waste their time and money here. Overview: I have been seeing Dr. Tuchinsky for about four weeks now. The initial consultation is free, then there is a pricey, extensive blood test required to move forward. I had it done and it had some interesting findings, but ultimately, the test was not much different compared to what an MD would order during an annual physical. During the appointment when the results were to be reviewed, Dr. Tuchinsky didn't go into much clinical specificity and quickly slapped a piece of paper on the desk with all of the supplements he recommended for me. I looked at a few of them and had heard of their benefits through prior research, so I thought, why not. I started taking the supplements and kept to my normal diet the first week. I naturally did not consume most of the allergens he asked that I stay away from (dairy, eggs, refined sugar, etc.). The second week, I was to eliminate all allergens, including wheat. For the following two weeks, I did not consume wheat/gluten and I can honestly say, I feel so much better than I ever have. This was my hypothesis when I first met him, but we really didn't discuss that (see "Clinical Acumen" below). Ultimately, I cannot validate that the supplements made me feel better or if it was cutting out gluten. I also declined to take the supplements for week three since Dr. Tuchinsky could not articulate their intended effects. He did offer to email me details about the supplements, but I would rather my provider know what he was giving me to put into my body. I cannot put that trust in someone blindly. I would not recommend this practice to others. The second star has been given because they were flexible with scheduling appointments. BEWARE that you will have to sign a waiver that your payment (and it is QUITE a lot) is non-refundable. He did not offer to reimburse me the cost of the supplements I declined to take. And to me, this says a lot about the motives of a business. Clinical Acumen: This was my first warning sign. When I asked Dr. Tuchinsky about the clinical impact for one of the supplements, he was only able to tell me, "I am resetting your entire gut microbiome." Yes, thank you, but that does not tell me what role, for instance, a glutathione supplement plays and which organ it is targeting. He never fully listened to me, and was very insistent on only focusing on the supplements. Supplements: One of the supplements gave me heartburn. When I revealed this to him at my most recent visit, Dr. Tuchinsky stated that he knew about this side effect and didn't want to tell me about so as not to deter me from the program. This is unacceptable. What if I didn't stop taking it and had other serious side effects? Luckily, I stopped immediately. I explained that for religious reasons, I would not take supplements with gelatin or fish oil in them. I really had to push back despite his persistence with trying to get me to take them. Ultimately, he did find an alternative for one of the supplements and the other one he did not. The cost of this latter supplement was not reimbursed even though I never took it. Diet: This was the only part of the regiment that made sense. All of the allergens he wanted me to eliminate are commonly known. In fact, I would encourage everyone to read the books written by Medical Medium (Anthony William) and implement those dietary changes before you head into the murky and highly unregulated world of supplements. Dr Tuchinsky was/is my saving grace. After 5 years of getting more sick every month with my PCP having no idea what was wrong with me I started searching for relief. I had given up on "regular" medicine and was looking for more than a pharmaceutical bandaid and I totally found it!! I went looking for relief and truly feel like I found a fix!!! Do not waste your money unless you cannot pick up a book or perform research of your own. I cannot speak for all functional medicine practices, but this one does not seem like they are interested in anything but making money. You start with an initial 30 minute phone call with Dr. David Tuchinsky, he is very nice and charming (which should probably be a clue). He listened to my issues then spent 20 minutes telling me he could make me better, but was not able to answer any direct questions or make any real comments on my issues (again should be a clue). You will fill out a pretty thorough questionnaire about your conditions and supplements you currently take. I moved forward by getting blood tests, a written report, and an office visit with Dr. David Tuchinsky which all cost around $450. The blood test was disappointing, it did not test for anything outside of what my normal doctor tests for- actually less then my normal blood tests. You go into the office and they give you your report to review to come up with questions before meeting with the doctor. I can't speak to the legitimacy of this, but they use much lower thresholds on the blood test so all of my numbers appeared out of range. When I went to see the doctor he told me how sick I was (he made me feel like I was on the brink of death- which I have issues, but I'm not that bad). When I asked him direct questions about certain conditions and what the numbers meant, he did not answer them, just keep saying "would you like to get better? How much are you willing to work to get better? I'm going to put you on a special protocol to get you better." He would never explain the protocol or go into any details. After your visit with him you go see another employee who gives the gist of the protocol, which was something along the lines of a 10-week elimination and specialized diet and special supplements for $2000. At this point I finally picked up on the clues and did not move forward. Now, if you have money to spend and you cannot do the research on your own this might be a good fit for you, but my guess is if your not willing to take the time to research and test elimination diets, certain foods, and supplements on your own you probably won't stick to the protocol prescribed to you here. I will say he does print up a nice report that connects your conditions with the deficiencies found in your blood test. For me, it did not really tell me anything I didn't already know, but it might be helpful to others. As with anything, do your research, read all the reviews and make your own opinion. If you are just getting into the natural health world, start by reading some books and articles and listening to podcasts before jumping into a big investment like this. Dr. David Tuchinsky was highly recommended to my daughter a few years ago as an outstanding specialist in, among other health issues, Hashimotos disease, both of which my daughter and I have. I had struggled with a host of health challenges for many years, including digestive issues, before being diagnosed with Hashimotos several years ago by a functional medicine specialist several hours away from where I live. The protocol I was given was somewhat helpful, but the digestive issues re-surfaced, significantly affecting my quality of life. Fast forward to my daughter's extremely successful outcome with Dr. Tuchinsky protocol, which was nothing short of astonishing. I live out of state, but Dr. Tuchinsky graciously offers to work with patients who are not able to schedule regular in-person office visits, but, provided that they schedule an initial in-person office visit, is quite amenable to regular follow-up phone consultations. I have never seen a protocol for Hashimotos as detailed as the one Dr. Tuchinsky offers. He has compiled an impressive manual with an enormous amount of information, which is a testament to the vast research he has done for many years on these health issues. It includes, not just the supplement and dietary protocol he has formulated to address and treat Hashimotos, but extensive life-style information that the individual can continue to use on a permanent basis. Following my initial in-person office visit, I began his protocol and, within a week, noticed a surprising improvement in the issues that had plagued me for years but had found little success in resolving. Frankly, since I had tried, unsuccessfully, so many other protocols, I wasn't really sure that yet another protocol would be effective. Any doubts I had quickly dissipated as I truly began to experience "a new lease on life." Dr. Tuchinsky's program is amazingly effective. Dr. Tuchinsky has changed my life. I lived with an undiagnosed autoimmune disease most of my life that left me with so many of the following issues: debilitating fatigue, infertility, digestive issues, muscle and joint pain, insomnia, and anxiety. I honestly thought this was a scam at first when I stumbled upon "The Florida Center for Functional Medicine" on Google. However, I was able to speak with someone on the phone at 8PM, which made me think they were more serious than I thought. The next day I received a call from Dr. Tuchinsky, who gave me the exact same speech they have written on their website, which I had already read and is actually very appealing. This made me feel a bit insecure but I was also desperate to find a solution to my problems, and he made me think this was the answer I was looking for. The protocol was simple: Blood work followed by a plan of action. He said the whole process was 375$ which included everything, from the blood work to another consultation with him to make a dietary plan specially designed for me. Because we're all different. Immediately after his call, an assistant called me to explain to me how the process will take part. I double checked if that amount included the next consultation plus a plan with him, to which she agreed. She also told me the following consultation was extremely important and it would last about 1 hour, because we had to go through all test results and go over my plan. I had the blood work done and I was very excited to see what my findings were but sadly, during the consultation I started feeling beyond disappointed. He looked at some of the results, asked me a couple of questions followed by the fact that I needed to stay with him at least for 4 weeks and have supplements from him. He made some calculations in his mind and came up with a number that I needed to pay for that treatment, which was 6 times more expensive than what I originally paid for. The whole consultation lasted 15min, since I did not agree to pay for anything. He also didn't go through my blood work. He told me he could give me a discount, which he has never done before..only because he wanted me to get better, and that his assistant would call me and explain me the details. She never did. Dr. Tuchinsky is very personable and I really enjoy my visits to his office. He is always concerned about my well being. He's actually the first doctor that has felt my pain. I felt rundown, depressed and had no energy. Blood tests showed that my body was under severe inflammation and my auto immune system was off. We immediately began a 12 week program to correct these issues. This all started when I had Thyroidectomy surgery because of large goiters causing swallowing and breathing issues.Traditional medicine didn't help after surgery.
