Owner was rude when I told my son to empty some of the water out of a Vase for transport. Instead of understanding that water was spilling all over the car and how difficult it is to transport a full vase of water in a car he proceeded to give a lecture. He even vocalized the amount we had spent on the roses for my mothers birthday, who was sitting in the front seat. Will never be back here. Part of a business is customer service. Spent a lot of money here to be lectured sarcastically and treated so rudely. read more

I have had consistently great experiences here. Everyone there is helpful and kind. You can even let them know you want to spend such-and-such amount, and they will work to fix a lovely bouquet in your price range. I so wish they had a florist of this caliber where my mom lives. I will NEVER use this service again! Sherry did a poor job. This arrangement was for my Mother, it arrived 15 minutes before the service and she did not use the flowers she told me she would, she said the price would be $383. and some change and they billed me $388.83. You could not read the word "MOM" because she told me they would use baby roses, she lied about that and she never called me to confirm anything. Never, never will I use them again...I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Done with the Flower Man! Unacceptable product....terrible customer service.....and EVEN WORSE professionalism! The Backstory: Used The Flowerman for several years with no problems, very good product and cust. service. Last year we had a couple of orders in which the flowers were not quite as fresh or up to their usual standard, but gave them a pass. Then last december I sent my wife some flowers while out in California on business. She called to tell me she got them although they were smashed. The secretary in her office saw the delivery man(the owner) drop them. Ok, well I called to give them a chance to fix their mistake, whether right or not I belive good customer service can fix a lot of things. They said they'd send some replacement flowers the next week. Never showed. Months later she got a delivery of like 5 roses, which was not even close to the original order. So, at this point we were done as customers of the Flowerman. Then today, the owner calls up my wife to sell her something and starts arguing with her about the quality of the original flowers and whether he'd really rectified the problem. Ended up yelling at her. Could definitley use a lesson in professionalism and the "Customer always being right"! So, I do not recommend The Flower Man on any level, and as of V-day I have found many other viable options here in Olathe. read more

We've been using The Flower Man--first, while living in KC, then after moving to Denver--for years, and been nothing but pleased with the product or service. My mom is not a cut-flowers lady, but does enjoy Mother's Day surprises...so, for years I would arrange a new potted plant arrangement with The Flower Man, and she is consistently thrilled with their work, the unique new plants, and the ease of caring for them. That, and each year I get a call FROM them, jogging my memory that...yes, I've once again darn-near-forgotten Mother's Day, and asking if I'd like to order something new to be delivered to my mom for the occasion. Was very excited to try out this florist, they had such great reviews. I emailed requesting a quote for my daughters wedding flowers, attached pictures, quantities needed, etc, I didn't get a response. So I called, while polite on the phone, the business seems unorganized & a tad unprofessional. After sitting on the phone, the guy finally found me email, which had not bee looked at & if I hadn't called, would've never been answered. I was told that someone would call me back that afternoon, they were very busy & getting wedding flowers out the door for someone. I said fine. I never got the call, so I emailed again asking when i might expect to see a quote. No response. So I called for the final time, I was told again that they were very busy & getting funeral flowers out the door, & someone would call me back that afternoon. I was frustrated & gave up. I told them I'd find someone else to provide flowers. I'm not going to chase someone down & forced them to take my business. Either you want it or you don't. And clearly they DIDN'T! If it's too difficult to answer quote requests, via phone or email, maybe it's time to hire another person. Just sayin'! read more

When it comes to floral arrangements The Flower Man is the best I've ever found. My connection to them goes back to their days on 83rd and Metcalf. The one thing my mother loved was roses. Lots of roses. All colors of roses. When she died, (14 yrs ago) Sherry made a casket cover that was all different colors of roses. I was amazed when I saw what a beautiful arrangement it was. The funeral directors told my family it was the most beautiful casket cover they had ever seen. Most importantly, it was something my mom would have loved. My niece wanted Sherry to make all the arrangements with red roses for her wedding. (11 yrs ago) Once again...absolutely beautiful. These were two very important occasions for my family and The Flower Man served us well. read more

Put a last minute order in for a bouquet of flowers to be delivered on Mother's day. The gentleman (I believe owner) who took my call was fantastically nice and helpful. He seemed really appreciative and thoughtful too. He made it super easy to place the order. Definitely an A+ experience. Will be using The Flower Man exclusively in the future. read more

Gary and everyone at the flower shop was wonderful. 20th anniversary was coming up and I had already been burnt by FTD when for valentines day they sent a completely different selection than what I had chosen (hint: smaller and less flowers). Anyway, even though they do have a website with flowers and at least the Lady's favorite looks exactly as what was delivered. The wife loved them, the coworkers were envious. Mission accomplished. Pretty flowers...TERRIBLE customer service. I walked in to pick up flowers for my daughter.The people who worked there did not greet me when I walked in nor acknowledge me as I stood at the counter waiting. I stood there a couple of minutes before one of the lady's finally helped me. If she were that busy, a friendly smile indicating ' I'll be right with you!" would have been enough. I won't be back. The first time I called the Flower Man I was upset because a friend had just lost her baby. I called about ten minutes before they closed with no idea of what I wanted. The man was very kind and asked questions to help me choose. I was really too upset to be doing that at that time; I ended up giving him my budget and asking him to make something up and deliver it. Even though it was past closing by the time I got off the phone and I had given him NO guidance in what I wanted, he created a beautiful arrangement and delivered them that night for me. I had the opportunity to see the arrangement a few days later; it was absolutely stunning. I haven't gone anywhere since for my flowers. Their compassion, patience and willingness to go above and beyond is very rare in today's business world and it is very appreciated. My fiancé just spoke to one of the owners of the Flower Man about a bouquet for our upcoming wedding that we had ordered through one of his associates earlier in the month. He was the one of the rudest individuals that she had ever spoken to. He treated her incredibly poorly when she asked him a question regarding flowers she was interested in purchasing. He mocked her and treated her like a vagrant on the street. Not only did we cancel our existing order and go down the street to a different florist, we will never visit nor recommend his shop to any of our friends or family. Additionally, if I was one of his business partners, I would be appalled at his treatment of a customer. If you want good service go to any other florist other this guy. Of all of the florists in the metro area, we chose the Flower Man because it was close and wanted to support a local business. Too bad they apparently don't need our business and the attitude displayed by the owner proved that. read more

Gary was so kind and caring when I called about a plant for my very young nephews funeral. I gave him a price and we talked about what I would want in that range. Once I chose a plant he talked me through the flower embellishments for it and made it sound so amazing. Since this was such a sad time it was nice to hear a kind voice who so extremely sympathetic and helpful. An hour later he called to tell me the supplier had just arrived with something I would love even more in my price range. I can't explain how beautiful the Croton plant is that he beautified with some gorgeous fall flowers and had delivered to the funeral home the next day. We live out of town and having to deal with such a difficult thing over the phone and counting on the help of decent, honest people is so refreshing. I ordered freedom roses and daisies for my mom expecting them to be amazing. They are huge roses and should have lasted weeks. They were beautiful the day they were delivered and for a few days after but then the petals started turning black and the roses started to wilt. I called back and got a woman who seemed to think I was after free roses. I had to get a little short and remind her what I paid and that if I wanted roses that would die after four days I could have gone to the grocery store and spent $20 instead of nearly $100. She then said they would replace the roses but when the guy showed up he had these tiny little roses that sell for way cheaper to replace them with and they made my mom keep the daisies and tear apart the original bouquet. While I was grateful they bothered to replace them, it would have been nice if she had gotten the roses I ordered instead of a cheap replacement. One week out those are dead too. I would not suggest wasting your money. read more
