Specialties
The Food Coach® is dedicated to seeing you succeed at your goals: to have more energy, reach your ideal weight, sleep better, improve your concentration and focus, stabilize your moods, up your performance, and to deal with your health history and any therapeutic issue that you may be facing.
Whether you need education, resources, planning, accountability, a shift in perspective, new tools, and/or a way to simplify the process, I'll support you with all that I've got to give.
There are three aspects to working with me:
1/Understanding your physiology - what issues may be blocking you from reaching your goals and what resources you have to overcome those blocks. This incorporates in-depth lifestyle and symptom questionnaires and, as an option, Functional Nutrition Analysis.
2/Coaching you to make change in your day-to-day choices around food plus a lifestyle approach to nourishment. Learn more about The Food Coach® Optimal Eating programs.
3/Addressing the behaviour that stops you from following through on the promises you make to yourself. For this, we draw from practical and creative tools to shift your repeated patterns. Check out the Jump Off the Diet Treadmill page to learn more about my sustainable weight loss program.
History
Established in 2003.
Note: The Food Coach services are available in two locations: Riverdale (Pape and Danforth) and in the Financial District.
The Food Coach is both a concept and a person.
I founded the concept from the experience that people, possibly you, want to make changes in your relationship with food, but don't always have the understanding or the tools in place to follow through on your desire. Yes, you need to know WHAT to eat - but you also need to be clear on WHEN to eat to maximize your health and performance, and HOW to eat to turn on your full digestive power and energy. In addition, 'WHY' you eat may require insight and tools to transform your patterns and habits. A single session with a nutritionist will only go so far in altering a person's relationship with food. The Food Coach was born to provide ongoing support, training and education.
Meet the Business Owner: Tzabia S.
I'm Tzabia Siegel, BAPhEd, DHN, RNT - clinical and holistic nutritionist, life coach, weight loss specialist, and the person behind The Food Coach. I am a graduate of The University of Western Ontario with a degree in Physical Education, The Edison Institute of Nutrition as a Certified Nutritionist, and The Coaches Training Institute as a Life Coach. My learning is ongoing in the field of Functional Nutritional Diagnostics, which offers insight into my client's physiology and nutrition via blood, saliva and urine testing. The healing opportunities abound when you go beyond symptoms to look at a person's unique biochemistry.
However healing does not end with the physical. Our relationship with food also involves the mind, emotions and soul. As a life coach and decades-long practitioner in the creative arts and spiritual transformation, I incorporate the physical and behavioural to lead my clients to their optimal well-being.
