I am not really a "churchy" type person. Meaning, I have not gone for over 20 years until now. This church has not only great atmosphere, very clean, and very relaxing color scheme, and the music is so great that you can help but tap your feet or chap your hands. The sermon is not only wonderful to listen to, but also very entertaining as well. The Pastor has such the gift of "gab". You will definitely NOT fall asleep in this church. Not to mention he explains things in a way that is understandable. They also provide many fun functions outside the church: ski trips, hunting trips, potlucks, swap meets, functions for the kids, and so more. If you like rock music, worship, and meeting great people, than this is the church for you! Also, the fact that if you miss church their site has all the sermons available ONLINE!!! Seek and Ye shall find, several months ago, my daughter in law and I decided to find a church for my grandson who had been struggling. We would sacrifice our Sunday morning, for him. After a few services, we both turned to each other and said " I like it here". The pastor and his Wife are very down to earth people, and as I looked around, I am amazed to see the great variety of people that go here. I am especially impressed that so many men ages 35-55 are represented. I am sure it is because the Pastor is very funny and is able to deliver a strong message with real world examples. I did not expect to feel so welcome and comfortable. I plan to eventually serve in some capacity, but for now, I am happy to be in the "pews". read more

We have been attending the Foothills for 6 years. We love the people that go to that church. The Sr. Pastor, Mark Wilson, is a funny, intelligent, and creative leader. He inspires us to have a closer relationship with God, make us laugh, and lead us to be better to our fellow man. My wife grew up in an Episcopalian Church so at first it was much different for her but she loved the music and that the messages were so bible based. Over the years I have seen her grow so much spiritually; she now inspires me. As for me, I have been in many different religions and find that this church is exactly what I need to grow. The Foothills is a Pentecostal church but it is more a bible based church, just reading from the bible. They encourage everyone to read their bible cover to cover each year and if you don't they are not judgmental; they just want people to get God's word from the true source. We have two young children that enjoy attending the church as well. They have a very secure, vibrant, and nurturing environment lead by Rachel Ratliff. We also volunteer for the Vacation Bible School each year, what a blessing it is to see so many children experience church in a fun and exciting way. We always make time each year as a family to attend and volunteer in this event. Besides the normal church on Sunday and Wednesday night, they have so many ministries. From riding to hunting, they cover most of it. They have a very large youth group as well with excellent youth pastors. Both Brothers Kevin and Eric Ratliff are inspiring young men that lead the youth to have fun and grow. They have a very active Woman ministry lead by Joani Wilson, and provide child care to attend the meetings. My wife loves attending the woman meetings on Tuesday morning. I love the music at this church, it is very upbeat and inspiring. Both Craig and Stacy Littlejohn lead the music worship. It is contemporary Christian music like music from Hillsong, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Lincoln Brewster, and even our own song writer Sr. Pastor, Mark Wilson. In summary, you will not find a more engaging, entertaining, and inspiring church in the Gilroy Area. read more

I have been attending Foothills Foursquare Church for about a year now. After not going to church for about ten years I was surprised at how much I loved it from the beginning. It didn't take long for it to feel like home, and for everyone there to feel like family. The worship sessions are amazing and feature some very talented musicians. The music is on the upbeat side, a little rock and roll. The pastor plays lead electric guitar, what else is there to say? :) Every sermon is thoughtful and relevant, makes you laugh at times, and also brings you closer to God. The staff really encourages the people in the church to read their Bible cover to cover every year, so that they get to know the Word better, and see the wonders that can happen just by reading it. The missions program there helps in the community and world wide, by their "Trashcan Can Make a Difference" Program in which donated items (within the theme of the month) fill up a special trash can in the lobby, and also by the second offering on the last day of the month, in which people can donate money to the program. The nursery and Sunday school program for the kids is excellent! They use a computerized check in system which allows for safe pick ups and will also display your child's allergy information. Children ages two and up are encouraged to go to their own worship session, called Worship Out Loud, where they can dance and sing to children's worship songs. All volunteers and teachers are fingerprinted and qualified to watch children. There are also special interest groups for just about anyone: Ladies Bible Study, Men's Bible Study, Hunters for Christ, a Motorcycle Club, a Surf Club, a Horseback Riding Club, College Bible Study, Youth Group, Koininoa (senior lunch), and many other things throughout the year. Everyone here is very welcoming and also very non-judgmental. I love this church and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new home church. read more

We thank God for working in our hearts and leading us to this amazing church in Gilroy. My boyfriend and I moved to Gilroy 6 months ago and we were heart broken that we were leaving our church in Mountain View called New Beginnings. We kept faith and prayed that we would find a church in Gilroy to call home. Now that we are settled in Gilroy, we decided we were going to find a church to call home. Through my experience I feel that when I call a church home, I feel the spirit working in me all morning from *when I wake up *to the drive to church *to the walk into church *to the songs of praise *to the voice of the soulful sermon *to the step out of church - I can just feel it!! The morning of January 31st, we felt the spirit work in our hearts, felt our souls uplifted and felt our minds cleared. We walk into such a welcoming atmosphere with amazing brothers and sisters in Christ. I felt God working His Devine LOVE. My favorite part of church is always the praises. When you can just close your eyes and sing to the Lord - listening to a beautiful blessed band that brings music to our souls. At the time of praise, Joani (the first lady/Associate Pastor) caught my eye. I hold high regards sisters in Christ and she has this glow that shines that I can appreciate. Her husband Mark (Senior Pastor) as he preaches the sermon, I find him to be hilarious, down to earth, inspirational and a blessing to those at the Foothills Church. In the short period of time, we met fellow brothers and sisters and they introduced us to Joani and Mark at the end of service. It was amazing. We found our home. Our prayers were answered. Love the Sunday service, people are real, in addition they do a lot for the community like laundry of love. Lots of opportunities to meet people through activities like barbecues, movies and retreats. read more

Foothills is the best church ever. They are there for you. They are never pushy or judgmental. They are welcoming, inviting, and friendly. You can get as involved as you want or not at all, regardless everyone is treated equally with kindness and respect. I have been a member for two years, and look forward to going to church every Sunday. I was raised in a Catholic church and never thought I would go anywhere else until I found the Foothills. read more
