Avoid this predatory, unconscionable agency, especially Katie Sennett - a bad-faith recruiter who engages in negging, manipulative pressure tactics, and who will risk your current job by repeatedly calling you unannounced at your workplace. After a successful first interview, Katie misrepresented the hiring process by providing fabricated interview dates for a second-round interview. These dates were objectively impossible, as they conflicted with a major, national conference the employers were attending - a basic industry fact she failed, or didn't care, to verify. After calling me repeatedly, without warning, at my current workplace and risking my job, she pressured me to commute a long distance in the middle of day for those interview dates that turned out to be impossible. When I made significant logistical arrangements to accommodate Katie's misrepresentations and pressure, she abruptly pivoted to a last-minute virtual request, refusing to address me by name or even specify the date. When I held the agency's leadership accountable for this amateurish and disrespectful behavior, the firm chose to ghost the process entirely. I never received an update. This has been the most unprofessional, manipulative, and deceptive experience from a recruiting agency. A perfect emblem of the transactional rot and moral bankruptcy of the contemporary hiring landscape. very demeaning group of people. a woman told me that I had no experience and I was entry level when I had a master's degree from a few months ago. she told me that "hiding my graduation date" made her believe that I was unqualified, had gotten kicked out of school, or that I didn't graduate. she had scoffed at my initial want for at least $30/ hour and gave me $22/ hour, eventually negotiating up to $25/ hour. they take a lot from the host company. I heard that they were paying the ford agency a lot more than 25/ hour. read more

So I wanted to wait a bit after being here to give my honest and most transparent review. I moved to DC in August of 2016 and as soon as I got here I was able to land a temp job through the Ford agency. Literally the next day. The thing was, I was told to accept a really low wage and "not think too hard about temporary assignments" So that's what I did just to get money in the door. I accepted a position at $13.00 an hour which is pennies in DC! But I kept an open mind. Fast forward about 2 week and I realized I was working a job that was meant for AT LEAST 3 people. Drafting over 50 letters A DAY, being cursed at yelled at ect. I told the Ford agency that the assignment was NOT for me and left that position (with literally no remorse). I was then told I would be placed some where else and they hoped this didn't shape my view of the agency but I never heard back from them. Fast forward a few months and I get back-to-back emails from a "permanent recruiter" someone who is supposed to find you perm work. She emailed me back and forth on different occasions about different jobs and never once landed me a job. Luckily, in August I was able to land my own job fairly easily. I kept my options open with Ford because I felt eventually they may come through with a high paying job because they always were recommending me for this or that. Nothing ever came of it. So all in all I got one job which was HORRIBLE through them, at a very low wage working for a horrible firm and they never placed me anywhere else. You are better off looking for your OWN position. There is SO much work in D.C to be had and your better off just finding something on your own and not worrying with the BS of your new employer having to buy you out from Ford. It was a waste of time and I finally just told them to take me off of their list! OH YEAH: Forgot to mention they make you take a TON of test and come in for multiple interviews. I had to take the same series of test (over 5 test) twice. One time for the temp side and one time for the perm side, why cant they just share the results with the other department? Anyway it was a waste of time and I landed a great job and was promoted in 3 months to a lead role, so like I said no point in wasting time with them! read more

I've had a relationship with the Ford Agency for almost five years, and I can tell you that they are committed to helping their candidates find great professional opportunities. I first worked with Ford when I moved to DC in 2010 and they set up lots of interviews with great companies for me and eventually helped me land my first job out of college. Three years later when I was on the hunt for a new opportunity, they worked their magic again. I ended up getting an offer from one of their client companies (which I turned down for a different job), but they supported me completely throughout the process. Everyone at Ford is courteous, professional, and hard-working. You never feel like you are on the back-burner; they make all clients feel like their #1 priority. As a recent college graduate I depend on professional job agencies to work with. Ford seemed great at first but it was such a let down. This agency is the absolute worst. They are entirely too large so your application becomes a needle in a haystack (one that is never found). They bring you in for a promising interview, and then you never hear anything from their staff again.They're very friendly people, but beyond that do not expect anything in terms of landing an assignment. I came in early. I was interviewed. The woman gave me a few pointers on adjusting my resume, and then her contact card. I completed the performance skills tests and aced them (you get your results on the screen). After that Ford was nowhere to be found... I left calls and emails that were never returned. What a joke. This is in comparison to two other agencies I've worked with in the D.C. area. They kept in constant contact with me and I've already completed a handful of assignments over four months. read more

This agency is a joke. I only found out about it through Yelp and had never heard of them otherwise. I sent over my information to the Direct Hiring section of the agency, and swiftly got an email response within 24 hours asking for me to give them a call. In this specific email she sent me, the recruiter referenced a specific position. I called the following day and was asked about my background and what I was looking for. Did she bring up the position she referenced in the email to me? Nope. Like a previous reviewer stated, as soon as I stated my salary requirement I could tell that she basically tuned me out. When she spoke, it was SUPER fast-- I couldn't even understand what she was saying. All I could make out was "we'll call you when we have something." I follow up with, "Can I call for updates? Staffing agencies tend to forget about candidates despite saying they'll reach out." She flat out responded, "No." She was so ready to end the call! The call couldn't have been more than 3 minutes. Really? Ok, strike one. I sent an email to this recruiter, "D".. and can you believe she never responded? The email was very detailed too. How unprofessional! Probably because I called her out on her contradiction in her initial email-- when she said she had a position she wanted to discuss with me and she never did. Even if you felt like the position wouldn't work for me after hearing what I'm looking for, at least respond and say something! read more

I am shocked to see all of these great reviews about this company. I wouldn't be surprised if they were all fake. Here is my story. I went in to meet with one their recruiters. I expected to meet the recruiter in a private area but instead we met in an open shared area where other recruiters were on the phone or perhaps listening to our conversations and it was uncomfortable and distracting. As soon as the recruiter heard my salary requirement, I could tell that she completely lost interest. I didn't think I was asking for anything unrealistic. Anyhow, she tells me that next day that the employer had decided to pursue other candidates. Well, I had a feeling that she hadn't even tried to present my resume and I believe I am right because the hiring manager of that particular company (which I found out later that it was the same company) happened to contact me on LinkedIn and asked for my resume. I had a wonderful experience working with them! I had just graduated college and moved to DC in 2012 and was afriad I'd never find a job. I sent them my resume and they called me within a day and then with in a week I had a phone interview for a long-term temp job which I got within three weeks of submitting my resume. Not only did they get me my temp job almost immediately they also continued to set up interviews for permanent jobs. My temp job ended up turing into a wonderful fulltime job with great experience but I appreciated knowing that until I had a full time job Ford was also actively looking for jobs that would fit my skill sets. read more

I've worked with several different agencies in the area. Some are good at communication and are aggressive in their efforts to find you a position. Unfortunately, in my experience with Ford, they were neither. I eventually gave up on them and found a position without their assistance. I think Robert Half or one of the many other agencies would be a wiser choice. read more

I was extremely happy with my experience with the Ford Agency. They were all so helpful and responsive to my needs and concerns. After a few bumps in the road they were even there to talk me though all my options since I was so unhappy with my current job. They really boosted my confidence and gave me all the support I needed. They were in constant communication with me throughout the process, sending me job descriptions, interview confirmations, follow ups, etc. and I found a job within a month of working with them. And as a bonus my salary far exceeded my expectations! I definitely recommend them for any recent graduates trying to find their place in DC. read more
