The school serves special needs children and young adults of varying disabilities from the ages of 5 to 21--and even after 21 students have an opportunity to continue in the "post-graduate program." NFSSE does so much for the special needs community of all ages in our city, providing life skills, traditional education, and socialization.

Being quiet is a rule of thumb for visitors to the library but is expected of the library's employees. Unfortunately this library isn't a good spot to study at though as there are two employees there who shamelessly flirt with each other just about every day. They laugh and bellow so loud that you can't focus on what you're doing even with earphones on. I'm glad they like each other and they have some kind of thing going on. Everyone who spends more than 20 min in the library when they're both working at the front desk knows of them. The issue lies in the common courtesy they don't extend to those who need to use their facilities to study/get things done. If it weren't for the constant chortling and loud laughter from the pair, this would be a great study space.

North Campus is a much smaller campus than South Campus. The focus of this campus is medical…read moredegrees, culinary arts, and cosmetology. This campus is great because they offer very low priced dental cleaning. They even offer low priced hair salon and a fine-dining restaurant on campus. (Even the regular old cafeteria food here was superb!) This is a very important thing for us who are not blessed with health insurance, especially in these ridiculous economic times. The only draw back is that these services are only available for very limited hours (only on weekdays when most of us are working). I went here for the radiography program, and my teachers were excellent. The program director was extremely helpful and personable and answered any questions I had about the program or the career.

I cannot safe enough about how responsible and professional they are at doing their job. My quality of life has improved significantly once I started taking JTA. Probably not for everyone, but our daughter hated the chaos of a typical daycare. A Child's Place…read morehas provided her a structured and safe learning environment where she is free to express her emotions. The staff has expectations of the parents which requires an adjustment period, but it is intended to provide the children consistency throughout their day. This school promotes a pacifist culture rather than an aggressive one. The curriculum leverages a student's interest to cultivate their natural abilities. For example, students interested in art can spend more time doing art while students more interested in math can focus on math. This allows the children to define themselves. Conflict resolution is also built into the culture and no staff member ever raises their voice at the children. The facilities do not have a commercial feel to them like most daycares. Operations are very transparent and not governed by corporate policy. COVID-19 created some hurdles but those were widespread. I can't imagine sending my child anywhere else.

We chose this school because it advertised the Montessori philosophy, fostering independence, following the child, and allowing children to learn freely in a respectful environment. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. This school placed a much greater emphasis on compliance and unquestioning obedience than on nurturing independence, curiosity, or confidence. During her time here, our 4 year old daughter was healthy, bright, curious, and full of personality, yet she was repeatedly singled out for age appropriate behaviors. She was asked to sit on a bench during outdoor playtime. During lunch, the children were expected to remain completely silent for about 30 minutes so the schedule could stay on track. When my daughter tried to talk with classmates or be playful as many 4 year olds naturally do, she was separated and made to sit with a teacher instead. The most concerning part was the change we saw in her. She began saying negative things about herself, such as that she "doesn't have good listening ears." She started biting her nails, grinding her teeth in her sleep, crying before school, and waking up multiple times at night crying. These behaviors were new and deeply concerning to us. We also felt she was beginning to be labeled rather than understood. No healthy 4 year old should come to believe that their personality is a problem because they need developmentally appropriate guidance. After we withdrew her and enrolled her in another school, the difference was remarkable. She flourished. Her confidence returned, her joy came back, and the emotional distress gradually disappeared. That experience confirmed for us that the issue was not our daughter, it was the environment. Every family has different priorities. If your goal is a highly structured environment where obedience and compliance are emphasized above all else, this school may be a good fit. But if you chose Montessori because you value independence, confidence, curiosity, and your child's emotional well being, our experience did not reflect those ideals. I intentionally waited seven full months before writing this review. I wanted time to reflect, separate emotion from fact, and ensure my review was thoughtful, fair, and truthful. After watching my daughter thrive elsewhere, I remain confident that this review accurately reflects our family's experience.

Yellow House is also a family friendly affair with a kids table and chairs for art, activities, and books. Hope is the perfect host with kids snacks and refreshments for adults. The Yellow House also hosts continuous educational events, writing space, and is a safe space where art and social justice merges. This space is not only an art gallery but also a place that encourages and hosts community building projects. This space really is an amazing resource for Jacksonville and great for the entire family.

Previously, my daughter struggled to grasp abstract concepts and formulas, which made math frustrating. It was also hard for her to do homework and chores independently. Since completing the Brain Balance program, my daughter has made great improvement academically and personally. Received a 5 Star School Award The academics, drama dept and sports departments are all stellar and well rounded. And I have never been involved with a school that has a staff that actually is so interactive with the parents and students. I am so appreciative to everyone at Bartram who has worked directly with my son to get him to his upcoming graduation. There are some portables along the back side of the building as most high schools do today, but Bartram has a good looking, clean campus. There is always student artwork on the walls and in the halls and their sporting facility, while not an arena per say has a great place for Lacrosse, baseball, football, track and soccer. I think this school has won some kind of award in every sport but football. I am just so impressed to be associated with Bartram Trail! I encourage anyone who may be considering moving to the St John's School District to contemplate residence within the locale of this High School! If I could give a sixth star I would!
