They were the only child care provider in the area that provides breakfast, drives the children to the elementary school, picks them up when school is over and feeds them a small meal instead of a snack when they arrive in the afternoons. The woman who runs the place is a nurse. A different daycare I visited actually told me that an example of their snacks was saltine crackers with water or lemonade. I couldn't believe it. When your child eats lunch around 11am and you work downtown and can't pick her up until 6pm, that is too long to go without something more substantial than saltines and water.
