.he's had our pictures for 2 years. So many excuses why they are not done. I paid him up front. $700. I am so mad. About a year ago he did give us a few that were done but the important ones, a painted portrait of my late dog and a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge that belonged to my late father in law, plus a few others , are still at the shop. Its really too bad because Bruce does a good job when he does finish. I have a Wysocki print that he did that is beautiful. I am so disgusted with him & his excuses. Bruce took time and great care on a very old painting that needed a frame repair. He not only fixed the frame but he also fix an existing tear on the canvas. Thanks Bruce. I sent a client here to get a painting stretched and it took 6 months. Yes, you read that correctly. I called ahead of time to see how far out the framer was booking, he said 2 months max. Great! My customers had to call over and over to check on the status. Stretching a large painting does not take 6 months. I have no idea what happened, but this is unacceptable and I'll never use this framer again. 2 stars because he eventually got the job done without ruining the painting. read more

Despite only two stars in my review, Bruce's work is outstanding. He has an artist's eye plus the skills to go with it and has done many breathtaking pieces for me. He has a very engaging personality and is so much fun to talk with. That being said, organization and timeliness are not his strong suit. It is typical for him to promise completion, but it may take him MONTHS to complete after many phone calls. Bottom line, after many years of benefiting from his great work and extremely fair prices, I was so disappointed when he misplaced an antique print I left with him three years ago (paying him in advance!). I finally had to accept that the print is "gone with the wind" and I will never see it again. Lots of promises to look for it among his many piles of stuff, but the promises are meaningless, just aid to keep me at bay. Even though I love his work and otherwise have such positive feelings about him, I will never again entrust my artwork to him. Buyer beware! read more

Once we found this place a long, long time ago, we never went anywhere else. Very high quality, precise and artistic. We have had very good results here. Over the years we have learned to be flexible in our timelines and expectations. When you give an artist the time they need to create a masterpiece, you get exceptional work. First, the work this guy does is GOOD. The location is great for me because it is in the same strip mall as my hair dresser. Now, let's discuss some problem areas that you need to be aware of if you plan to have your work done here. The store is not clean. The owner keeps the hours he wants. He promises times for work to be done and then does not come through. So, be prepared to either wait or come back. But, the work is very well done. I was very pleased with the matting and framing he did for a baseball team photo collage I took in for him to do. read more

Terrible. Used him because he was local & had to wait 6 months & it was promised pre-Covid & pre his health problems. Then I heard later, he's ALWAYS slow. I paid him in advance & he was rude when I finally picked them up after I'd told him to forget the frames, please just give me my art back. When he finally returned my multiple calls, he practically threw them at me after making me stand on the curb while he found them! I hadn't even noticed one was framed incorrectly, not in the floating frame he'd promised. Didn't matter anyway because I wouldn't have had him redo it because I was so done with him, paid or not! The great part about this shop is that the owner is extremely nice and friendly. He also can give some great recommendations with a great price when you weren't exactly looking for that particular idea. It really helps out the customer who has no idea what they need or want. The outcome of the product came out pretty good. I needed a canvas print framed for a nursery. I asked for the most inexpensive frame, so I was not too picky when I received it and saw a few of the corners were knicked and dirty. I felt like I shouldn't bring that up to the owner because I received the product 9 days late, so I didn't want to wait any longer for any corrections to be made. I had called about four times within the 9 days, and he kept trying to complete my order on a day to day basis, but did not complete it until 9 days after. I would return and recommend this place because of the friendly service and great prices, but I would express be prepared for an overdue product. read more

Luckily, I called The Frame shop where the nicest gentlemen name Bruce explain that he was a little busy but he would be able to squeeze my project in. He quoted me a price that was almost half of some others and could have it out the door and in my hands within 90 mins. Bruce is a great guy and is as honest as they come. Been going here for almost 10 years and every piece has been awesome. I'm picky and don't have time frames, just high expectations and patience. I expect the best materials and all museum, investment quality work. The Frame Shop delivers on all this, without question. Only negative is turn around time. Even though I don't set completion dates, it can take a while and the phone calls can get a bit old for follow up. If he says call, then you call to follow up. He's a one man show and it's never personal on delay, just that he wants to get each piece right and does get behind. Can't beat the prices. I'm very sad to have to change my original positive review, because I think the owner of the Frame Shop is nice and he does really lovely work. But in June of 2013 I brought in a painting to be framed. He said it would be done in about three weeks. After that time passed, I spent weeks and months calling and coming to the store to try and retrieve the framed piece. Every single time he had another excuse about the frame materials coming in late, or that he finished the frame but left it at home instead of in the shop, or something else. More than a year later, I finally had to threaten to file a complaint with the BBB if he didn't find my framed painting. That week he said he managed to find the right frame and he brought it in to his shop -- but when my husband went to pick it up, it had the wrong painting in it. The owner gave my husband several inconsistent explanations, including claiming that it actually was the picture I dropped off originally. (It was not even mistakable for my original painting of a famous church in Moscow; the painting he presented us was a distant skyline of some other city.) I have no idea what happened to the actual painting I gave him to be framed. Apparently he doesn't know either. We're still in the process of trying to resolve the matter, but at this point I do not expect I'll ever see the painting again. Although he's offered to refund the cost of the frame, it is completely unacceptable to lose a client's property, especially when it is something that is not replaceable. I can't in good faith recommend The Frame Shop because of this experience. read more

Bruce just framed another painting for me and the gilded dragonfly frame is exquisite with the piece! He is so artistic and creative and his prices can't be beat. I still don't know why some choose to pay more at one of the chain stores to have their pieces framed by someone less experienced. I will continue to take my treasures to Bruce because I know that he will frame them correctly with acid free backing, etc. If it's worth keeping, it's worth framing by someone who cares like Bruce. read more

In Jan 2016, I brought a 1985 piece in with a frame that needed repair. My inquiries were if the frame could be saved and, what the cost would be. If it couldn't be saved, what would frame replacement cost. I was informed that the frame could be saved at that it would take no more than a few days to repair. I told the owner I wasn't in a hurry because we hadn't gotten into our new home yet. He simply asked me to keep up with him and that it would be completed in plenty of time. In March 2016, when we opened our new home, I asked him how it was going. He told me it was all but done. It's now one month later (three and a half months after I first brought the piece in for repair) and I've heard nothing but excuses as to what happened. He finally told me the piece was more complicated than he thought and he should have told me. His words, not mine: "these are just excuses. I keep promising you a date but I guess I'm a liar". read more
