Very disappointing experience. The customer service from David and Darrin was horrible. Both came across as uninterested, dismissive, and honestly like they did not want to be there. Asking questions felt like an inconvenience, and there was little effort to actually help or make the process feel welcoming. Not only that, but if you're looking for fair trade in value on your camera equipment, this is probably not the place to go. The offers felt extremely unfair and far below what the gear was worth. You're better off spending your money elsewhere. read more

I've purchased photos several times over several years. The quality of the prints is top notch. The colors are vibrant and true. The photo paper is very nice as well. I use the website to order photos which is always an easy process. Prices are upfront and never a surprise for how much each photo costs. Updated review for 2024! I have used Horn Photo twice this year, for bittersweet reasons-after my grandma's passing in February I wanted to order a large poster sized photo of her for the services. It came out perfectly and was ready quickly-I ordered it online and communicated with customer service via email.A few days after the funeral, my grandpa shared a smaller-than-wallet sized photo of my grandma that no one had ever seen, it must of been taken shortly before they were married when she was 17 years old in the 1950's. He wanted it enlarged to an 8x10. I took this tiny photo to Horn and they advised that the best size for enlargment would be 5x7. It came out perfectly again! Thank you so much. We have shared these 5x7 prints within the family and everyone loves them. I hope to visit Horn Photo again for a happier occassion soon. Best photo service in town! read more

I always knew if I wanted high quality prints I'd come to Horn, but recently I used their restoration services, and I'm even more impressed. It was pricier than I anticipated, however it was worth every penny!!!! My mother in law asked me to have an old photo of her enlarged, but after a conversation with the customer service representative she let me know that the photo itself was not in the best condition and restoration might be the best way to get it in great enlargement shape. I chose to do it right and go big. We did Stage 5 restoration ($90) and 6 copies at $5 each. The original image was small so the biggest size that it could be enlarged to was a 4x6. They do multiple stages of restoration, from Stage 1 to Stage 6. Stage 1 starts at $15 for minimal adjustments, and Stage 6 is $120 for a complete rebuild. My photo landed at Stage 5, because of cracks and fading, and the original photo was round and I had them build out the sides to a 4x6. A bonus of the restoration, that I didn't realize until after is they give the photo a number, and they save it digitally. So you can always call or go in with the number and order reprints of the restored photo. They even put a sticker on the back of each of the restored photos with the restoration number. I thought that was very cool. Great job Horn Photo. Well worth it. read more

I went to get my camera that I bought off ebay looked at. I ordered a Nikon Coolpix S9500 from Japan but was receiving an error message regarding initialization failed each time starting my camera. I called and went inside Horn Photos to see if they could identify the problem. The representative looked at my camera for less than a minute and suggested I send it back as nothing can be done. No suggestions, just a simple return. The representative was nice so I can't complain about my treatment. I went back to the ebay seller and they advised the SD card size could be too large. I tried a smaller SD card size and my camera works now! My review is mainy to remind the employees to make sure all avenues are sought before throwing in the towel. I needed to get some photos done for a Canadian visa. I am still waiting to confirm with the embassy whether these photos would work, but I think they did it correctly. Yes, they are expensive, but this was the only place in town that does custom sizes. The service was friendly and fast. However, what I find weird is that I emailed them last week asking whether they do photos for Canadian visas, and they never reached out to me until I walked into the store and asked. 100% recommend. As a 35mm shooter, horn is the only place in town that doesn't ship photos off. They can push or pull film, rush delivery, actually care about your prints and sell a decent assortment of 35mm and 120mm films in the store. They also upload them to Dropbox for you immediately and offer to retain your negatives! Absolutely recommend. read more

Walked in hoping that my Canon G7X could be fixed for less than a million dollars and walked out with a new Canon G7X and a Bluetooth Tripod. Aaron worked on my camera for 15 minutes and the determination was made that it couldn't be fixed. I already was kind of thinking that and I've had the camera for two years and was happy to get the updated version. Aaron spent some time showing me possibilities for external microphones and such but the $ started adding up and I'm not in the market for a microphone, so I passed. I came here to print out my wedding photos thinking they would come out really nice when I receive them and I got home. Most of them were blurry and they weren't even a high resolution and I paid 200 bucks for this for blurry photos.! I was better off going to Walgreens. I have gone to Horn Photo for years now and have honestly had a great experience every time. I understand the prices have gone up, but that's just the way things are in this economy. Film has never been a cheap hobby and or job. What prompted me to writing this review was the experience I had today. I had brought in a roll of film in a rush since a friend of mine has just recently passed a couple days ago, and I knew I had some pictures of them on this roll. I asked if I could have the roll expedited and was asked when I would need it. I explained to them I was a little unsure but by Saturday or Sunday, that would work. I was told I would receive the dropbox link sometime this evening, only to find out 45min later, I get an email that the link is ready. I truly am so beyond grateful for my experience today. I know to some it may be silly, but it was really nice being understood with this situation. I have always appreciated the employees at Horn and today really just solidified that appreciation. Came in on a Saturday & used the kiosk to print my photos .. Was told my photos were going to be ready for pickup the next day. I called but they said it wouldn't be ready til Monday and that they'll give me a call. Waited Monday, nothing. Then Wednesday came, I called and they told me they sent me a text that my photos were ready on Tuesday already. (I never received a text or an email.) I thought maybe they had the wrong number on file but I double checked the receipt and it was correct.. They are a photo shop that says they will digitize old photos. Yes, I had a lot. However, before taking the photos and albums in, the pictures had to be out of the albums. Highly disappointed in this company, especially when I'm told it takes the employees a long time to do that and we would have to take them off of another job....Isn't this supposed to be a photo company? This is the epitome of having a job and not wanting to work. They quoted me $6,000.00. I'm not wanting to pay their mortgage! Once again, I had an excellent experience at Horn Photo. It's more than a place to shop for photography merchandise--it's an experience. Everyone who works there is friendly and knowledgeable. On this visit, I had many questions and Brandon took his time answering them all. I never felt rushed and I didn't feel like I was an inconvenience. This was a great trip into the store. What sucks about Horn photo is that it's a local camera shop or watering hole for anyone who's into photography or is trying to get into, but their knowledge is used against you. For an example, as someone who is very interested in photography and loves capturing great photos and wanting to take it one step further past iPhone I looked to Horn as a resource. At the time I thought all the information was really helpful. Though much of the sales guys come off pretentious, they still know more than you so I took all their advice. They matched me perfectly with an overpriced camera, which at the time I didn't know was overpriced, and I was off on my way. After a few weeks the camera just wasn't performing like the one I originally wanted (they don't carry it) I came in regularly seeking help and advice because I really wanted to love my $1000 purchase. Six months later I finally found the actual camera I've been looking for so I went in to make a trade or sell my camera back. I was told that my camera has a terrible resale price and it's only worth $350. I died laughing, I mean, that's all I could do. They upsold me a camera for $1000.. mislead me to believe it's exactly what I needed, then turn around and say welllllll it's extremely hard to sell your camera. What a joke. They lost a great customer, but from what I've read, they've lost a lot. I came to Fresno from San Diego. At the moment I just wait until I make a trip home to get all my camera needs met. Really sucks to have a unreliable local camera shop. Do better Horn. Shame on you. People in Fresno are broke and you guys take advantage and squeeze every dime from them.. for something they will never love. It's an utter shame. read more

I needed a few copies made of an old photo. Sure, I could make a copy with my scanner, but it would lack the quality I desired. I remembered Horn Photo from the days I shopped at the record store next door on Blackstone. I knew the photo shop wasn't there anymore; I just hoped they didn't call it quits. Lucky for me, Horn Photo moved a few miles north. I got my photo duplicated in less time I thought, and the quality was spectacular. The copy might be better than the original, if that's possible. It just seems the color on the copy is better. I highly recommend Horn Photo. read more

Love this gem that I always forget about! I recently purchased a battery for my 35mm film camera and staff was very nice. Just went in to drop off my film on Sunday and the lady at the front was very sweet and helpful. She got me a discount for it being my first time. I dropped off film and was told it could take up to a week to receive my digital prints, it only took 3 days! I spent $37 for two rolls which is very good compared to most places and my pictures came out great. I'll definitely be back! read more

I was totally pissed off with the passport size photo with soft copy through CVS & Walgreens.None of them could give me digital copy which o wanted to upload for the visa forms! Horn photo is my favorite place to order quick prints, they process your order quick and the quality comes out so much better I think than when I get them done at Walgreens photo. The employees are always friendly, and if you don't want to go into the big parking lot they have a door in the back which makes it much easier to get in and out when you are in a hurry and you will have no trouble finding parking which is nice! I definitely want to get some of the metal prints I seen they had this past time I went in as well. So many different options for photos. read more
