What a great yarn store! Actually, what I should say is what a great fibre store! It's so rare to find a place that satisfies the inherent duality of my nature; providing both yarn, for instant gratification, and beautifully dyed wool to nurture the patient and industrial half of my soul that longs to sit for infinity and a day quietly spinning luxurious yarns myself. I was welcomed at the storefront by a tree cleverly married with yarn, fabric scraps, and beads evoking the moss draped urban forest of historic savannah. Also at the door was a fellow yarn devotee who just happened to work there. Her excitement was infectious and I just wish I lived closer and could come for the monthly spinning club. One of my favorite things is that the store had a nice selection of yarns and roving from a local Savannah fibre company, Copper Corgi yarns. I purchased several skeins of yarn and braids of roving to take back home to Texas. Very cool store indeed. read more

I thought this was a lovely little shop. I had looked up local yarn shops before our trip and I was quite excited to come here when I saw the carried Quince & Co. I browsed for awhile and squished here and there. I was disappointed that I only saw the Quince linen yarn, but perhaps that is due to the climate. I really wanted to come home with a sweater's quantity, but the yarns I liked didn't have the quantity I needed. There was only one person working and I waited awhile to be helped with my purchase as she was helping others in the knitting area. I left and returned to make my purchase after browsing another store. She was pleasant and welcomed me back. read more

This store is so much fun! I went in for the first time because I purchased a Groupon for some knitting classes. I had never picked up a knitting needle in my life, but thought it might be time to learn. (Long, weird story...don't ask...LOL!) Anyway, Jennifer, the yarn goddess, was exceptionally patient with me during my first couple of classes and now has me started on a couple of very simple projects. I'm actually catching on and making something useful! And even better, I'm really enjoying myself. She invited me to come to their open knitting nights, held on Tuesdays, and I've come several times to get pointers and chat with a variety of interesting people of all ages who like to knit, crochet or work with fibers. Everyone there is very friendly and loves to coach newbies and compare patterns and projects. Having mostly seen yarn in discount stores or craft stores, I had NO idea what kinds of lovely, gorgeous yarns are out there! Such colors and textures! I'm looking forward to learning more so that I can make awesome things that I can show off. read more

I love that the store is organized by the color of yarn! Also a great place to go for lessons -the staff is patient and very helpful, even if you are not taking a class. I just took my first ever knitting class here with the owner, Jennifer, and it was such a great experience! Not only was the instruction great, but all of the materials were superb. This store has the most beautiful selection of fibers in such a bright, happy atmosphere. Now that I'm on the way to becoming a knitter, I'll be stopping by this shop regularly for all of my materials since I know they have the highest quality natural fibers in a helpful, friendly shop. read more

Came all the way from Virginia to visit Savannah's favorite LYS. Even though it stated it is open on Sundays, it was not! We waited around for an hour for it to open....should have at least posted a sign on the door and the web site that it was closed for Mother's Day! read more

Before I left home I searched Savannah yarn shops. I loved a shawl that they had posted on their website and wanted to get the pattern. Great location - four blocks or so from the Hyatt where I am staying. Carol , "the Sunday girl" was very nice and very helpful. We had a wonderful conversation about escaping from high stress jobs with the help of yarn. I left with my yarn to make the shawl, the pattern off of Ravelry and a big smile on my face. I am in town for a training conference. I noticed a woman crocheting at the conference. We started chatting and were quickly joined by other crocheted and knitters in the room. I told them about the shop and my pleasant experience there. Several of them went and also reported a positive experience. I don't know if I will ever come back to Savannah, but this shop certainly "represented" the friendliness of this charming city. read more
