I am a huge fan of the Fresh Market. This is a good location in Montgomery, Alabama. The Fresh Market has great quality meat and produce. I can't rave enough about their ground beef and chicken and every Tuesday they are on special. The service is always friendly and the ambiance is warm and inviting. This was my first Fresh Market experience and it was very interesting. No need to worry about parking space a huge lot is waiting. I think the store lighting need to be brighter it was very narrow down the shopping isle. But the staff very friendly and helpful. I was able to find the organic tea they have plenty on the shelf. Great looking store that is extremely clean, organized, and has great organized and fresh products. They aren't huge and have everything but rather the clean food you come to expect from certain clean eating grocery stores. Definitely worth stopping by to see what they have and what sales you can get. You may just fall in love with this place. read more

I ordered a Bohemia supreme bouquet for my man's mother birthday and got it sent to her through Uber eats. The bouquet looked nothing like the picture. It was so small and out of the 3 flowers they put in the bouquet only one was bloomed. The rest was just greenery. I'm so disappointed. I'll never order flowers from here again. Do better. read more

The store was as always clean, nicely stocked. I go 2x a month to visit the VA , so 2x a month I stop by and get my grocery shopping done. I love the selection. I will never ever set foot in this store again. Each and every employee was past the point of rude. No good morning no nothing. When a question was asked, all I got in return was grunt. Finally a market where I can find specialty items and spices, a great wine selection, a wonderful bakery, deli with delicious selections, butchers and a seafood selection unmatched by local grocers and excellent customer service. Fresh Market? More like The Fresh Snack Shop. I was underwhelmed and disappointed with The Fresh Market. That's particularly unfortunate considering I was looking for an alternative to Whole Foods; I didn't find it. It started with the fruit and vegetable section, which was disappointing. As some may be aware, apples are one of the most important things to buy organic, but among the plethora of apples they have in store, I was only able to find one organic variety. The same for vegetables. Limited organic vegetable selection, and a limited vegetable selection overall. I can find more organic selections at the Publix next to my house. Another reason for the trip here was to look for bulk food items. We are trying to reduce our household waste, and were excited by The Fresh Market's website advertising an extensive bulk food selection. However, the "bulk food" is really just nuts, trail mix, candy, and coffee. That's not bulk food. Bulk food means staples like rice, couscous, oats, etc. Clearly my definition is not the same. Bulk candy? Come on. You have more candy variety than fruit and veg. Something's not right about that. Whole Foods, to its credit, does have some of the bulk staples we're looking for. What did I end up with? I had a delicious panini from the deli. And I scored a local beer I had not previously seen anywhere else. (Yellowhammer Miracle Worker Belgian-style tripel, delicious!). But these things are bonus, impulse foods. Things that I shouldn't eat but am prone to pick up on the periphery of my weekly grocery shop. As a result, I'm unlikely to return since I can't buy the groceries I actually need. Maybe I came here with the wrong expectations, or maybe I didn't. read more

1. If you're going to purchase grocery store sushi, Fresh Market's is the best in Montgomery. Even better than Whole Foods 2. The new location can be tricky to get to depending on what time of day it is, or what direction you're coming from. Which is surprising because it's so close to the interstate 3. Oh thank God...got off the plane in Montgomery and was hoping, but not expecting, to find somewhere to buy all-natural chicken, field greens, and maybe even fresh ground almond butter. Found Fresh Market when looking for a different place that I found on the iPhone, and was not disappointed. Wow. They have EVERYTHING that I wanted and more - fresh and organic produce, all natural meats, good wine selection, nice people...I really didn't expect to find anything this good in Montgomery and was thrilled to discover it! Got some gulf shrimp and flounder, both of which were fantastic - meaty tasty shrimp, flounder grilled up tasty and flaky...somewhat pricey (as one would expect for really good food) but worth the money. read more

This store has declined over the past 12-18 months. I used to be a regular at this store but the last 3-4 times I have been in the produce is not fresh (ie, lemons are turning brown), milk only has a shelf lIfe of 2-3 days but still charging full price, out of basic items like buttermilk, yogurt, etc. I don't know if management has changed or the store as a whole is declining. Whole Foods will get my business from now on as the selection is far better and visually fresh produce and meats! read more

I love to go in there especially after a long day at work. I like the atmosphere and I'm feeled more relax after I walked thru those doors. It's a place I like to go and splurge a little sometimes when I want to try something different and even buy something I like, too. read more

This gets 5 stars because this is a place that can keep you sane in montgomery. This is the only.. and I mean ONLY place to get "upscale" groceries. Read... do you really trust the fish from walmart? Its basically like a tiny whole foods except that you can get normal brand name stuff there as well. Got some good steaks and hummus there as well. read more

I agree with David - this is a store that will save your sanity if you are vegan, vegetarian or a gourmet/health foods lover spending time in Montgomery. Fresh produce is delightful and pretty reasonable (cheaper than Whole Foods, of which there are none in this area). They also have a great wine selection, along with all the typical sections of a grocery store. I go for the deli case, which offers a main dish and two sides for under $7! Yum! There is always at least 1 vegetarian offering for a main dish when I go, and many veg sides. I take it to the hotel, nuke it up, and enjoy. Delightful! read more

(7/20/16) Stopped in for a quick look today. This seems like a nice grocery store with more upscale options than the other local offerings like Winn-Dixie and Publix, particularly in the packaged foods section (curries, sauces, vinegars, etc.). They carry O brand vinegar and Red Boat fish sauce, which I haven't found anywhere else in Montgomery. They also have a decent meat department (a tad pricey) although I haven't tried to order anything special from them yet so I don't know how they handle more esoteric requests. Some specialty chocolates, candies, their produce all looked good but again was on the expensive side. I will probably be back when I need something that I can't find at my neighborhood grocery store, but this won't become my regular go-to for food shopping. (8/16/16) I've been back more often than I planned. They have some decently priced specials in the meat department now and then, and if you sign up with your email at the register when you check out you can choose to receive email flyers for their weekly specials. You can also get your receipt via email, which I appreciate. read more

This market is nice and calming. I love the layout of the store, and most of the employees have been helpful. My favorite aspect here is the fresh flowers. Most of the time, there isn't a florist around, and when there has been, she wasn't knowledgeable or helpful. read more

Love having a nice neighborhood grocery store, and I stop in often, usually for their Little Big Meal specials. I've found their other great deals are on wine and fresh flowers. Their floral department is the best, most affordable in town and wine selection is impressive given the small size of the store. Bakery and groceries are a bit on the pricey side, but it's in my neighborhood so the convenience is worth it for special treats or when I need just a few items. Contrary to another poster's opinion, Whole Foods appears to be going like gangbusters, and I hope they won't woo away Fresh Market's customer base. Whole Foods is a much bigger store with lots more variety and selection in virtually every department, but their prices are no better or worse. Their floral department, however, doesn't come close to Fresh Market's and customer service is not as attentive and accessible (except in the wine/cheese dept.). There's room for both in Montgomery and I hope Fresh Market keeps its niche. read more

I like the concept...not a Whole Foods but the closest thing but I cannot stand the smell of dogs and cats while shopping for groceries. I have a very sensitive nose. While walking out, I realized that attached to this market is a 'Pet Market', hence the smell. I will probably not return because of the smell. Wasn't too impressed with produce selection either. Guess I'm out of luck for organic products while in AL. read more

I am in Montgomery on a business trip and needed a place that had gluten free food. This place was good for what I needed, it has the essence of whole foods but the ambience is classier. Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly. I will definitely go back as I am here all week. read more

Fresh Market is OK. I bought goat cheese there for a dinner party. Thank god it was casual, because the goat cheese was molded. It's expiration date was more than a month away. They were very nice about refunding my money and even gave me another tub of cheese. For fresh vegetables, go to the farmer's markets, or buy really fresh veggies from the farmer on the side of the road - they cost less and aren't processed!! read more

I love everything about this place. Their macaroni salad is the best anywhere. The only problem I've ever had was the bakery mismarking their very berry pie and black cherry pies. I was counting on a black cherry pie and when I got home I had a good very berry pie... but it was full of blackberry seeds -not fun when you think you're getting a cherry pie. After seeing a lack of good steak at a local grocery store I decided to swing by to pick up some steak for my dinner yesterday and let me tell you I was not disappointed at all!! We visited this place a few more times this past week. Since I was in a better mood and not starving, I was able leisurely browse the various items they had. Somehow I had missed the vast selections of candy, nuts, and snacks such as wasabi pea mixes in near the center of the store. Their wine collection was pretty impressive and I was even tempted by their wine clearance. Some of the unique items I saw included packs of various freeze dried fruits such as honeydews. Decent, I have only been a handful of times but it is always well stocked and clean.

The chicken salad is the very BEST. The produce is excellent and the prices are good too! Baked goods are fresh and delicious. I guess I love this store. Comfort food is my favorite and The Fresh Market is about as good as it gets to comfort. A bit of a drive for me, but well worth it. I read some of the negative reviews, I don't get it. How can you find fault with a clean, well organized store with delicious food and baked goods? People are funny, or not so much. read more
