The atmosphere was so cute and the food was amazing! I don't remember the name of what I had but it was something like shrimp à la Crema or something up to that effect and it was the best.

I've heard great things about Uncle Mick's for years and seconds after walking through the charming front door, I knew why. Uncle Mick's is located in historic downtown Prattville. The store front is a charming combination of old time benches, chairs, signs, birdhouses and plants. The inside is an eclectic mix of art, signs, and taxidermy. It has a homey feel. There's a turtle painted on the floor and a beautiful stained glass lamp in the ceiling. I was warmly welcomed and asked if I had ever been here before. Plates and options were explained and samples were passed my way. The food here is amazing and I had a hard time choosing. I wound up with a split regular plate. Crawfish étouffée and shrimp and sausage Alfredo were my split entree and black eyed peas and green beans were my sides. It was a lot of food and came with bread. These people know how to cook. If I closed my eyes, I could have been eating my mama's peas and beans. I ended with bread pudding with bourbon sauce. It's $6. It's worth every penny. Everything was delicious and the staff could not have been any nicer. Give Uncle Mick's a try. You'll be glad you did. You may want to wear adjustable pants. Just saying.

We were on a day date and stopped in for lunch. The restaurant setting had a New Orleans feel. The service was excellent. The server recognized we were new to the Cafe and offered samples for us to try. Shrimp Creole was great. Shrimp a la creme was excellent. Chicken and dumplings were on the menu for the cold day. Those hit the spot. I like the way they offer the menu options. The choice is a small sample which is three items and two side, just smaller portions or you could do two larger servings with two sides. All come a choice of garlic bread or cornbread.

I'm not a huge Cajun fan but my husband is and we finally came down here to try it out and it was absolutely amazing!! The service is what sold me. The people who work here are so sweet and helpful. It was my first time and the gentleman at the counter gave me 3 samples of their popular dishes. Which really helped me in deciding. I got the chicken and sausage gumbo and it was to die for!! I loved the look and feel of the dining area too very homey. We will be back!

Another great visit! The staff is so patient, welcoming, and giving. Uncle Mick himself came out and to greet our large group and even offered us ice cream sandwiches! This place is the stop for good home cooking and the atmosphere to go with it. You really feel cosy with all the fun decorations, a full tummy, and their warm smiles.

Man, do I want to give this place a higher rating, but there were a few things that just cannot…read morejustify a higher rating. Let's get into it. We arrived here on a Sunday, not by choice, but because of lack of options in this area on a Sunday. We wanted a sit down meal and not just a grab and go type of situation. Not many choices are available in the area on a Sunday. When we walked in we were greeted warmly and guided to our table. Once we sat down we were looking over the menu and our server approached. We placed our drink order and were kind of given a 'heads up' about how service might be that day. Which isn't always that great of thing to hear when you basically exhausted all other possibilities in the area. When our drinks arrived, almost ten minutes later, we finally started to place our orders. I went with an appetizer and entree. Let me tell you something, I'm ok with fusion food, but Cajun and Irish was not one I was expecting to stumble upon. I like taking in new experiences so I will give anything a chance at least once. When you look over the menu, you can see how they fused the cuisines and some sound interesting, while others give you the apprehension that you should follow and not order. During the ordering process, my picks were readily available, but my friends weren't so lucky when they made selections. One friend just kept going down the list until one was available. However, one of my other friends ordered something only for the server to return and tell her that that option was not available at that time because they didn't have the items to make it. Then the food started to come out, very intermittently. Remember how I told you I ordered an appetizer and entree? Well, my entree arrived well before my appetizer. Since my entree came first I went with Cod Fish & Chips. This comes with fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies. The highlight of this place were the hushpuppies. They were amazing, flavorful and of a decent size. The fries were dead cold. The cod was decent, lukewarm at best, and the coating was a bit much. It wasn't a fluffy, crunchy batter, it was like it was densely packed in cornmeal. The coleslaw, yikes. I've had vinegar forward slaw, but this one was a bit overpowering. And remember they are a fusion restaurant, the Cajun portion of this was the punch in the face that when paired with that vinegar forward slaw, is not a good mix. The appetizer, Boxty, was definitely the highlight of the whole meal for me. This right here was redeemable and maybe that is why it showed up after my entree. It made me forget about the entree. Two perfectly, huge, traditional potato pancakes. It is served with a Cajun remoulade. If I would have tried this first, I would have seen how the fusion worked. Because this truly worked. The remoulade mixed well with the potato pancake. That plate, was absolutely empty when my plates were picked up. What overshadowed all this was the service. Honestly, it really wasn't their fault, or at least totally their fault. It was the employees. Some kitchen staff, we were told, did not show up. Couple that with no prep work being done the night before or earlier in that day made for slow food preparation. On top of the kitchen staff not showing up, some servers did not show up as well. Our server, who was amazing and charming, was stretched thin. She was humble and took everything in stride. She even thought, in her mind, that most of this was her fault. Honey, you did nothing wrong, you are doing your job and showed up. Your suggestions to us were spot on, and you need to remember you didn't prepare the food. This place is redeemable, but only after they get the staffing straight and hire the right people. If I am ever back in the area, I will give it another try. Especially since the place is beautiful and kind of reminiscent of New Orleans. That two-floored restaurant with outdoor seating on both levels and the outdoor fans really give off the Big Easy.

This place was absolutely horrible! I will never go back. I love Irish pubs, so I was interested…read morein the cajun twist. Boy, was I disappointed!!! There are so many things I could say about this horrible experience that lasted way longer than it should have! Let's start with our drinks. I ordered a long island and my husband a beer that was listed on their beer list. Over 10 minutes later, I received my drink (that was yellow and looked like someone's margerita), and they said they did not have Blue Moon!! So he ordered a different beer on the same list. That, too, was not available......we found out 5 minutes later. He finally ordered a beer that was recommended to be close to a blue moon. My long island was terribly sweet! It was horrible! My entire table received their food while I sat there with a cornbread side, my horrible drink and my remoulade on the side. I ordered a grilled chicken with swiss cheese and the sauce on the side. I NEVER received my food! My server finally came to me to tell me she gave it to another table! So the other table not only received my special order but also their original fried chicken sandwich, origional order, leaving me with a cornbread side and a side of remoulade sauce. The gumbo that someone ordered at my table was horrible! It was a seafood gumbo that had beef in it. The cornbread side was good but only had 4 muffins, and I asked for it to be an appetizer for the table. I should have been told there were only 2 and would have ordered more for the table to each eat one. I should have been given the wrong order while they corrected my order. Instead when I asked to pay our bill, she apologized and continued arguing with me when I said she should not have left me with nothing and should have given me the order that was available even if it was wrong. Yes, I said I wanted grilled and not the fried chicken, but I should have been offered the correct item I ordered in addition to the incorrect one. Hospitality service is obviously something they need to work on! I am pretty sure it was the manager who asked the server what was going on but never came to our table to say anything to us. She just watched us walk out. I wish I had pictures to share......by the time this happened, everyone had already started eating, and I did not want to show partially eaten food.

Needless to say with our recent run on Oyster Bars knew we had to stop in Fresh off the road we worked up an appetite and got right to it. We ordered some Patron doubles, which honestly were crazy over priced at $18 a shot, some chargrilled oysters, fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, gumbo, and bienville oysters just so we could have a sampler of multiple items To get right to the point, the chargrilled oysters which were freshly shucked or smothered with butter and cheese and absolute money! The Bienville were covered with shrimp had a healthy amount of crab meat and a creamy Parmesan sauce that were good but something about char-grilled Flavor that made these take a back seat The fried green tomatoes were very crisp on the outside and delicious texture on the inside but the signature crawfish sauce I can't put my finger on it but it was absolutely amazing The crab cakes were no lie 99% crab with next to no filler which is rare nowadays and the remoulade sauce was totally made in house And then finally the gumbo which was highly recommended due to all the achievements it's one, had the right balance of heat spice shrimp, crawfish, crab meat and, okra is a must try! The po-boy fish sandwich was a healthy sized fillet and you could tell was fried to perfection All in all I feel this was a great experience just touching down in Alabama, the only thing that made us laugh was we tried all this hot food when it was 102° outside. Shout out to Josh for that good old southern hospitality as he took care of us like we were family!

Let me start off by saying a learned a valuable lesson, i ordered online and paid with Apple Pay through door dash because that is what is connected to their online system. Don't be like me! If you are gonna order online and that venue uses door dash, make sure you have the app because it was awkward has hell trying to show them my Apple receipt that just shows that I paid DoorDash and not that I ordered from them. If I had a downloaded, it would've shown that I got food from them. Luckily enough, after some confusion, the staff worked with me and just asked for my name and gave me my order. OK now the food . I ordered a Chicken Philly Cheesesteak and 6 wing combo. I chose lemon pepper as my flavor of choice. I wanted to order 10 wings with two flavors, but that wasn't an option, not on the online menu at least. So I figure I'd try to different things. It was late and I was starving so unfortunately, I scarfed it down, was sitting in the parking lot of Walmart and forgot to take any pictures of the food. The Philly cheesesteak was good flavorful & cheesy like it should be. The bread held strong for the 15 minutes I took to get to Walmart. The fries that came with it were fat crinkle cut style and a little bit on the soft side, but still good. Not the best but good. The six wings were in a separate container (I chose naked and not breaded), a little on the smaller side, but instead of six they gave me seven, which is great. The lemon pepper had some good flavor, but I would suggest getting it out of the container as soon as possible because there was a quite a bit of oil on the wings and the longer it sits the more oil that gathers at the bottom of the container. It would be really nice though if the combos above 10 wings gave you an option for more than one flavor like a lot of wing restaurants do. However, I think it's a great place for a late night dinner or even some wings to snack on.
