I stop by The…read moreBoiler Room {i.e. the atrium of Full Frame Theater} whenever I'm visiting American Tobacco Campus, and believe me, one look inside, and you'd understand why. If your type is big, strong and handsome [BUILDINGS!], Full Frame Theater's Boiler Room has YOUR name all over it (him? her?). This incredible space welcomes guests entering Full Frame Theater, as well as sometimes its neighbor, The Power Plant Gallery. It's a VERY unique event venue flanked by mammoth coal-fired boilers that were used in the original building. You can admire the elevator shaft to the right of the front door, or envision the unseen inside (but very visible outside) base of the Lucky Strike smokestack which The Boiler Room "horeshoes" around. Enormous windows, concrete floors and brick walls give this space the perfect impression for any event [can I plan my next birthday party here?!] No space has ever scream contemporary meets historic so clearly! Plus, doors are open 9am-midnight, SEVEN days a week, so there truly is no reason to miss this drool-worthy space. Secret tip: it's air-conditioned and they've got tall-topped tables and chairs inside along the massive windows. This would be the perfect get-away from the office or {indoor} picnic lunch spot.

The team provided excellent customer service prior to the event, answering all our questions and working with us and our caterers to make sure the event went well. During the event, staff were on site to troubleshoot and further assist. I would highly recommend checking this space out for your next event!

Nice bonus with each floor having guest pantries that include free ice cream, coffee, Coke products, and popcorn. Such a nice experience that I almost want to keep it my secret!

Although note that you can't really walk to the main campus from here (although they provide a guest shuttle option). Check in was quick and easy, and staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and was stocked with luxury amenities like Nest bath products and a stocked Keurig machinene. The Rizzo Center also had a full-sized gym, complete with two stationary bikes, a rowing machine, a peloton, a cable machine, a couple of treadmills and machines, and full dumbbell sets. They also provided a guest pantry, which was open 24/7, and stocked with ice cream, soda, coffee and tea. They also had several laundry machines on each floor, free for guests to use. The complimentary breakfast on the first floor was great, and included oats, grits, fruits, yogurt, pastries and hot foods (frittata, scrambled eggs, french toast, sausage/bacon, etc.). Definitely recommend staying here when visiting the RTP area.

There is purple furniture throughout with candles lit at each table, and soft seats near the courtyard entrance. We had an obscure and tasteful Black Sabbath song playing, which we learned was playing on vinyl from the record player on the back wall. The mixologist, Doug, who's just all sorts of awesome, later physically swapped out the record for a Beach Boys LP that had literally zero Beach Boys songs that I'd ever heard. It was rad. The cocktails were phenomenal, aromatic, and balanced. The menu has them split out into "Originals" (cocktails they invented), "Covers" (cocktails, that other famous bartenders invented), and "Remixes" (Little Gem's spin on existing cocktails). The music theme was on point. We also ordered some marinated feta and white bean dip that came from Beau's Catering (in the same courtyard), where Paul Finn (the owner of Little Gem) is the Beverage Director. I highly recommend the dip, it blew our minds. Do yourself a favor and go check out Little Gem. Maybe a mini date night or pop in while you're waiting for your order from The Pig or your kids are getting ice cream next door. And while you're there, take a moment to appreciate the music playing straight from the record player. It's such a vibe.
