They suggested we come check out this art center. I'm so glad they did! You walk into GreenHill and see gallery rooms and children's art exhibit through the center hall. Walk past the info desk til you come to the studio. They have books and a fun art installation after passing through the first room. Keep walking and they have markers and colored pencils and paper to draw. In the back they have an easel wall - string and clips with color paper to paint. There were tables for clay and one attendant was setting out mirrors for the kids to do self portraits. All this was free when we went On Fridays they have story time and art for a nominal cost. Would've preferred simple bgm or even silence. I like that they had big open space this year on the lawn, instead of parking cars there, to setup chairs and picnic blankets to watch the fireworks. I don't like, however, how short the show was. It was 18 minutes. That's pretty sad, tbh. I would've anticipated at least a half hour. That said, I'm sure I'll forget and do it all again next year so we can take the kids to see some fireworks again where it feels somewhat less congested than in other places. Charging to park the car for events just feels pretty cheap too. Like it's your property. How else would you like me to get there so I can spend money buying your food and doing your activities? I do like that they don't actually lock you in the room. If you need to leave for any reason, you actually can. We got as many clues as needed, and finished with 3 minutes to spare! It was extremely fun and we definitely want to go back!

When you walk in, there is no direction on where to go. There is just a bunch of random rooms and a staircase. We walked around and almost left before a young girl asked us if we were there too do an escape room. She took us upstairs and there were multiple rooms. The room we did was the Sherlock Holmes themed one and one of the locks was busted so we spent about 20 minutes wasting our time on it. Two different girls had to come in and try to fix it, but they were not able to. It really messed us up because it was literally the first thing needed to start us off. They did give us like 10 minutes of extra time, but at that point we were already so confused that it didn't help. It was also 60 bucks for the two of us so I feel like it is very overpriced for junkie rooms and poor atmosphere:(

They allowed camping on the grounds, so some folks set up camp around the perimeter for the weekend, us less outdoorsy types stayed in a hotel back in town. The main building was a great place for the reception, plenty of room to mingle, some outdoor seating as well, overlooking the lake on the property. It was all very lovely.
