Delicious ice cream off on the side of Lincoln road - less likely to see many tourists. It was a slow late afternoon when I came by. I got the cookies and cream and the pistachio almond on a warm waffle cone. Definitely will be back for more!
Solid scoop of ice cream on the Miami main stretch! The ice cream was a tad too sweet for my taste (never thought I'd be saying that) but that is just my own personal preference. Slightly on the pricier side for $7.50/ scoop but I guess that's what you get with being right on Miami Beach. Overall would come back here as the only other real options we saw while shopping were two Hagen Dazs and we wanted to try something out that was not a chain.
A perfect cool down after walking Lincoln Rd. The shop is a cute and small and friendly and helpful staff and amazing ice cream and sorbet flavors. I had two scopes of the guava and lychee. Both were really good. Not too sweet and the perfect amount for a cool down and a little snack. They have about a 2 dozen ice cream and sorbet flavors. There's a small amount of seating in the inside and there was a table outside when I stopped by. They also have beverages if you want something else. Perfect if you need a quick break when shopping, especially those with families.
It was a hot day so we decided to get ice cream. We stumbled upon this place and they had delicious ice cream! I got the passion fruit sorbet which was very refreshing. We also got the vanilla ice cream that had chocolate or fudge mixed inside, which was even more delicious. I will probably get that one next time again!! It was easy and fast and we ordered at the window!
The sorbet here is the best sorbet I've ever had! Please get the watermelon. It rocks your world, especially on such a hot, humid night. Crisp and cold and refreshing with just the right sweetness and creaminess. 5 stars!!!!!

We left a great dinner and decided to go get ice cream at The Freeze. It was not a good experience. I ordered a cone with sift serve. I could have have went to McDonald's. The guy serving us had an attitude when my friend asked to taste the champagne ice cream. The price for my cone was $6 and some change. My friend ordered a cup with two scoops of ice cream and it was $9.11 and after two spoons she threw it out. Why because it's South Beach? It's not worth it. And he doesn't use gloves or a napkin to serve the cones

Our hotel was on the main strip but it was only a short Uber/Lyft ride to this ice cream shop. They have a lot of different unique flavors - the mango and champagne sherbet combo is bomb! The champagne flavor is actually a little on the stronger side too ;) The staff were really nice and considerate to my fiancé's peanut and tree nut allergy when we were ordering. Luckily one of the staff (I wish I remembered his name!) could relate because he also has the same allergy. He made sure to thoroughly clean the scooper in between flavors so that there would be no cross contamination! I wish more establishments would understand this and go through more precautions when it came to food allergies! So definitely huge kudos and thanks to him!

Due to Covid, they set up the shop with the register at the door so you aren't able to come in because it is small. They have the menu set up at the front with plenty of options. I chose the passion fruit sorbet which was great!

We walked and walked and skipped some ice cream shops we had already been to because we wanted something a little more elevated. A little less average. Our friends found this spot and after checking out all the reviews, almost a 5 star review, we came to The Frieze! Their ice creams have zero preservatives nor additives. That right there is what drew us in! They also have a whole section of dairy free too. Customer service: deserves way more than 5 stars Ice cream: 3 stars Let me explain myself. As soon as we walked in we were greeted (all 9 of us). They kindly and patiently explained to us how their menu worked and how their ice creams were made. They let each one of us taste at least 5 flavors without getting annoyed or flustered about it (like every other idea cream shop gets). It was a young crowd serving ice cream, they were extremely accommodating and welcoming. They're the reason why I ordered my cone! Ok, so the ice cream, this is what you want to know about right? I have no complaints about it, I'm honestly happy with it and relieved to know that it's zero preservatives, it's untouched, the way it should be. Unfortunately, I've had way better explosions in my mouth with ice cream from other locations. This ice cream was good, it was edible, it also wasn't too cheap. For a $7+ waffle cone with two scoops, I kind of expect more. It's not about the price, it's about the experience in my mouth. My taste buds were the judge and they weren't impressed. I honestly would love to give these guys 5 stars but truthfully I just can't. Would I go back to eat ice cream here? No. It's nothing personal, just with so many other choices this didn't impress me. Kudos to you guys for being preservative free, my thing is enhance what you have! Make me addicted so I can come back! I don't regret coming here, it was fun! If I find myself in the same are again I most likely will not pick this place first. Cool spot, for pics, for ice cream art, for ice cream. You might love it, so try it for yourself. Love the ice cream, they have frozen milk ice cream and also sorbets. I enjoyed the rocky road with berry sorbet and it was a perfect combination. You have to pay for parking to visit this location and it's located on the side of the building or in the streets. You can sit in the outside benches or inside to enjoy your ice cream.

Whenever I'm craving creative flavors, well balanced and not overly sweet, I come to The Frieze. This place it's so superior to any other ice cream place in Miami Beach. Service is kind, and friendly. After all these years, they are still doing great things. read more
I'm pretty disappointed by this place. I expected much better based on the reviews but the ice cream did not live up to the hype. We came around 7- 8 pm, there was no wait. We were able to try max 2 samples before making a decision. The icecream scoop I ended up buying was icy and pretty mediocre. Maybe because it wasn't refrigerated correctly or it's the last bit of ice cream in the container. It was the end of the day so there wasn't a lot of ice cream left in the containers. The ice cream was not worth $6. I felt as if I was eating the leftover frosty bit from a tub of icecream that I could've gotten from CVS or Wahlgreens. I got strawberry btw. The sorbets sound good though. read more
With so many gelato joints around town, it's refreshing to find a non-chain old school ice cream shop. Sometimes you just crave that firmer texture. And a lot of their flavors have mixed in bits of stuff, which is something I absolutely love that is often missing in gelato (where they usually prefer toppings for additional fees, not mix-ins). Coffee Caramel Chip: So much going on in this one! A smooth coffee ice cream base and tons of crunchy chocolate chips. No shortage there. Plus a generous amount of caramel swirls throughout. So many of my favorite things! Banana Wafer: I'm really hesitant to get banana-flavored things because artificial banana tastes nasty. But it looked like they used quality ingredients so I gave it a try and it was indeed real banana. Reminded me of fresh banana pudding, in ice cream form. Loved the many smooth vanilla wafer cookies mixed in. Cookies & Cream: This was the recommendation of the young guy serving up scoops. I could totally see how this would be a teenager's favorite. Large chunks of Oreos against a smooth creamy base. read more

I had the chocolate sorbet, and it was very rich and chocolaty! The texture was a little icy, compared to chocolate sorbet in Europe which was more creamy. They were out of a few flavors but I was happy they had chocolate non dairy because I hate when there's only fruity flavors for those who don't eat dairy. Good for both vegans and non vegans, about $5 for a small single scoop. read more
I absolutely love the design of the shop & location. The people who work here were super nice, & let us do a photoshoot here years ago :-) I always said I would come back to try the ice cream, & finally did. I love the Bosh ice cream & the ginger pear. They have a lot of options, & the flavors mix well together. I also appreciate it's a healthier option to my ice cream cravings. read more

Really good homemade ice cream! I had brown butter flavor and an Oreo espresso one that I can't remember the name of. They let you try different flavors as well. I had the vegan almond pistachio and it was good but has a soy base which I don't prefer to eat. I would return to try other flavors if in town. read more

*Whispers* Am I the only person that is not head over heels about Frieze? It's great that it is family run, and the oldest ice cream shop in Miami, but maybe I came at an off night because all of the flavors had no taste, and tasted like store-bought ice cream, of the Bryer's variety. I tried at least 5 flavors, and none of them made me gasp "This is the best ice cream I've ever had!" I tried champagne, dulce de leche, The Jack Daniel's maple and walnut flavor, key lime, and a tried and true vanilla. I settled for a mini scoop of the Jack Daniel's flavor and for almost $6 color me surprised. Frieze caters to most diets because they offer Kosher, dairy-free, vegan, and your traditional ice cream shop toppings... Oreos, sprinkles, chocolate sauce, caramel, whipped cream, etc. The employees were nice enough for 9 pm on a Sunday, and there were several other customers going in and out, as well as a few delivery orders. There is a freezer stocked with pints of pre-packed ice cream as well as ice cream sandwiches, sodas and water. There are 2 benches inside the parlor as well as benches outside the parlor for you to relax, or you can always stroll down Lincoln Road. There is street parking, as well as a few lots close by, but these are all paid spots. read more

SUPER disappointed in this place! My parents flew in to visit me here in Miami Beach and I took them here for ice cream. To say I was disappointed is an understatement! WAY OVERPRICED, and the serving size was laughable! My pictures attached was a regular cup and over $7!! I got more ice cream on my two sample spoons that I tried before picking my flavors. I even asked the man working, "Wait, THIS is $7?" If I wasn't in utter disbelief, I would've told them to keep it! It wasn't even a full ice cream scoop. I've never seen something so ridiculous in my life. $25 later for 3 cups that looked like this.. Never again! read more

Sadly, this feels like the first time that the Yelp community gave great reviews for a TERRIBLE experience. The "ice cream" was more like flavored frozen water. It literally had the consistency of sorbet, NOT a creamy ice cream. I should have followed my instinct when I looked at the flavors on displayed and every container had ice cream with ice crystals on the surface...making it appear that these had been there for some time. To top it off, the portions were puny. Each scoop was slightly larger than a golf ball. All for just over $7! read more
Browned Butter Ice Cream! If you see this flavor, try it! I doubt you will be sorry. Now it's not a flavor you'd want to eat everyday, or maybe you would, but you should try it at least once. This single flavor made this visit totally worth while. Lot's of other good, if somewhat expected, flavors too. Bottom line: Browned Butter Ice Cream, I will dream of you. read more
What's better than ice cream on summer vacation. This little gem was great. All ice creams home made and able to sample flavors so you know what you want. Prices were reasonable and was a hit with out entire party of 4. Girls working the counter were super cute and friendly. read more
This tiny place is crazy. The music, the staff, the patrons, the ice cream, it's all crazy! The Frieze is that twilight zone that we randomly find here and there. I am most fond of gelato than of ice cream, so whenever I find a place that has good gelato, well, that's it for me. I rarely try ice cream unless it is highly recommended, and that is how The Frieze ties in, as they have a full fridge with about 16(?) gelato flavors, beside their 16(?) regular ice cream flavors. The question mark means I am estimating. The music, well, it ranges from death metal to Latin stuff. The staff and the patrons are a treat in and of itself. You'll just fall in love with it all. So, whenever you come around Lincoln Road, or if you are at the Convention Center or strolling down Washington, make sure to take some extra steps and enter The Frieze. P.S.: This is a Kosher ice cream shop, with a certificate and all. read more
Ah ice cream, probably my favorite treat of all time. You can keep your cakes, puddings, pies, macaroons, and whatever else tickles your fancy, but for me, ice cream will always be number one. I took a friend out for dinner in Miami Beach and after gorging we decided that naturally, we needed dessert. We came across The Frieze Ice Cream Factory and goodness, the rest was history. Very easy to location on Michigan Avenue, right off of Lincoln Road. To be honest, I can't believe I hadn't been there before, but now that I know about it I'll be here more often. The ice cream shop itself has a cool (get it?) throwback vibe to the 50's-60's to the original ice cream parlor. While the shop is small, they have dozens of flavors. The best part? Free samples and they are more than happy to load you up before eventually picking your favorite. One of the samples I tried was their grape nuts flavored ice cream. I ended up passing on it, but next time I'm getting it. Who would have thought that grape nuts cereal would make for good ice cream? But I can tell you it does. I ended up with (former) Miami Heat Chris Bosh's flavor: Bosh. It's a peanut butter lovers dream come true! It's filled with chocolate chips, fudge, and peanut pieces. Good lord it's amazing. A medium will run you around 5-6 bucks and is two full scoops. Plenty big, even for a guy like me who loves to eat. The employees were great. Very friendly. Great customer service. Overall I really loved this place. Need an ice cream shop? If so come here. You'll love it! read more
