Good selection, but terrible customer centrism by the owner. The problem is that the owner would not honor what an associate told a customer about a returnable item. My mother-in-law is in a cast due to wrist surgery and an associate told her it was no problem to pay for the clothes and try them on at home where she could have more assistance and privacy and then just return what she didn't like or what didn't fit. She tried on the clothes that night and then brought the ones back that didn't fit or weren't what she wanted the next day by noon. The owner was NOT customer centric at all and simply recited the policy written on the receipt. While this may be a perfectly normal procedure, it is completely ridiculous when an associate specifically told her that she could return them due to the extenuating circumstances of her arm in a cast that the owner would not honor what their employee told a customer. Especially since without the associate's comment she would not have spent $200.00. Moral of the story: Expect the owner to choose policy recital over good, common business sense and quality customer service. read more

5 days return policy and even then exchange only! I have picked up a few things but if I am even SLIGHTLY in doubt I leave it. It is not my go to mainly because of the return policy. read more

I am a firm believer in supporting small businesses and shopping local. I have shopped at The Funky Zebras in Ankeny many times as I like their clothes and jewelry. However, their exchange and return policy are anything but customer friendly. I have seen many customers walk out of the store angry because of the policy, and I dealt with it first-hand tonight. I bought a shirt six days ago. When I wore it the first time, I noticed two small holes in the sleeve. I had thrown away the receipt because I knew the shirt fit. When I took it back to try to exchange or return it, I was told that it was past their five day policy and I didn't have a receipt. It was obvious I did not cause the holes as there were no snags on the shirt and also apparent that I had purchased the shirt at The Funky Zebras. After the sales clerk called the owner and still could not offer me an equitable exchange or return, I took my shirt (holes and all) and walked out the door - I will not be walking back in the door again. read more

The Funky Zebras started in May of 2011 and has grown to a couple stores. We offer a variety of lines that are very affordable and cater to the demongraphics for each store.

Cheryl has 20 years in the hotel industry and loves to be around people and help her customers. She has received several awards in customer service and best opening hotel as well as best general manager of the year. Cheryl got into the clothing store business due to having three daughters. She love to travel to different places to get unique merchandise for her clients.

Finally, I went to my laundry basket and counted to makes sure I didn't miss anything. I have thirty-three pieces of Duluth clothing that I wear all the time! I have two types of T's. I have polos. I have two types of cargo shorts and dress shorts. I even have a bunch of Duluth underwear! The pic I posted is a simple Henley T that is about seven years old and has been washed a bazillion times and still going strong. I've never lost a button and it's never frayed or had a ripped seam. It's great for banging around town and running errands. Their stuff is solid beyond words albeit a little pricy, but the value is there. Duluth is primarily a catalog company that of course has an online presence and that's how I make my purchases. So, what about the store? I suspect a visitor unfamiliar with the product would give it four or even five stars. It's clean and beautifully merchandized. The customer service is just fine. There is easy access to the online catalog if you need it. For me, as I'm so comfortable with the product over so many years, the store doesn't add much. However, because the product is awesome and the store is picture perfect with great service, I'm going with five stars!
