Ghazal is an excellent attorney. I found her on Yelp. There were many good selections with great reviews. The reason I took a shot to go with her was that quite a few of her clients mentioned that she would fight for the best for her clients. Now at the tail end of my case, I think I would agree this summarizes her quality the best. On our first phone call, while not forgetting to comfort me emotionally, she gave me a quick laundry list of what I should expect to happen what I should take actions on, some of which immediately. These are very useful advices, as they put me at a better position from many aspects. Was still not going to be a case to my favor obviously, but it went the best it could from there. Her style is clear communications and faithful followups. She has a web portal, which keep tracks of events that have happened, that are scheduled to happen, and all the documents. For things I need to do, she gives me ample time to prepare for, and repeated reminders every step of the way. She provides foolproof detailed instructions, e.g. how much time I should budge for re-applying to driver's license at DMV. I developed to be fully reliant on her reminders and instructions. On her side, she represented me in both DMV hearings and court appearances. She communicated on the phone prior to these events, w.r.t. to the strategies and expectations, hopeful but never overpromising. And she emailed or called to provide followups after the events, depending on how much there were to discuss. She is very responsive. She always replied to my messages within hours (she spends most of her days at court, during which time would only respond to emergencies). Pertaining to my case, she originally strategized to negotiate a wet reckless. However a recent change of policy that she wasn't aware of drew a line right at where my case was. Due to the fluidity of these policies, especially related to personnel changes (and there is one upcoming in Nov), we had the choices of either waiting out for a couple of more months for another negotiation or settling for DUI ASAP. She explained to me that in my county, the real differences between wet reckless and DUI (and their pros and cons) and timing sensitivity of my case (as it may be reaching a bit close to 1 year of the incident, if we were to wait out for another couple of months). Then I heard her saying, as I paraphrase here, she is a fighter, she likes to fight for a better outcome. Wet reckless is a better outcome for her (yet another case to stand on her winning record, is the way I took it). For me as a client, which one is better outcome might be different (implicated pros and cons above). Then she left it for me to decide. To me this is a lot of candor, and makes a great / trustworthy attorney. I can say that I am happy with the eventual negotiated outcome. I surely don't wish anyone to have to be in the same situation. But if someone in need of a good DUI lawyear, I would recommend Ghazal. read more
