I paid for a phone consultation, and I haven't hired them yet, but the quality of the phone consultation was much better than free consultations. I did lots of research before paying the fee because I was hesitant, but I was able to learn a lot from the call in addition to learning about the law firm. I was seeking legal representation for an incarcerated friend. I called the first time and found out that I have to pay for the consultation fee. After calling a couple other lawyers for free consultations and understanding the situation better I felt comfortable paying the fee. I called back a week later and gave the receptionist my info. As a legal professional myself, I immediately knew I had to talk to an attorney when I had some traffic related legal matters to deal with even after doing my own research on the California Transportation code. I did look at FindLaw and other attorney listings. But as an avid Yelper, I knew I could count on Yelp for finding reputable legal services as well.
