I have had several friends go to Dr. Galera since my initial rant which Yelp will not let me edit and he has helped them.

I've been seeing Dr. Volmir for about six months now and I honestly can't say enough good things…read more After years of rushing through 10-minute appointments with regular primary care doctors who barely looked up from their computer, this feels completely different. From the very first "meet and greet," she actually took the time to listen to my whole story - not just the checklist of symptoms. She's board-certified in internal medicine but also has serious training in functional and longevity medicine, and it shows. She's helped me tweak my diet, get into strength training, and run some advanced labs that my old doctor never even mentioned. The concierge setup is worth every penny. I can text or call her directly when something comes up and usually hear back the same day. No more waiting weeks for an appointment or sitting in a crowded waiting room. The office in Clarendon Hills feels more like a nice spa than a medical clinic - clean, modern, and actually relaxing. What I appreciate most is that Dr. Volmir treats me like a partner in my health instead of just another chart. She explains everything clearly, respects my lifestyle and goals, and we make decisions together. I'm already seeing real improvements in my energy and how I feel day-to-day. If you're tired of the usual assembly-line medicine and want someone who's truly invested in helping you stay healthy and strong for the long haul, I can't recommend Lifelong Health and Dr. Volmir enough. Best decision I've made for my health in years! Would definitely go back (and I already have, multiple times!).

I've rarely met a nicer, more thorough doctor. He really knows his stuff! Although I had to wait…read morealmost an HOUR for my appointment, even though I was on time, I found out why: he's so patient! He answers every question, he knows everything there is to know about his work, and he's really kind - and even funny. What a great guy! PS - His lone receptionist is frantically busy, and the actual waiting room is packed and stuffy - but if you get an appointment, you can sit in the loggia and it will be a pleasant enough wait.

My reply to Dr. Wilson's reply below which states: "Mr. A's comments vary from misleading to…read morepatently false." A. Please point out ONE segment of my original review which is either 'misleading' or 'false.' Dr. Wilson was quick to suggest comments were misleading or false, but avoided all my points and instead just offered one 'opinion', and his own mis-truths and denials of what happened. (* In his own Yelp response below, Dr. Wilson even admits to "often making people wait.") B. If 'sleep tests' are such a pertinent part of headache study, how come I wasn't universally scheduled another one, or even suggested another one by any of my other half a dozen neurologists? As I stated previously, I was informed that sleep tests are MAINLY administered for patients with SLEEP APNEA OR SLEEP PROBLEMS (not getting enough sleep, fluctuating hours of sleep, erratic sleep, etc) which then may in turn be triggering possible migraines. I had a sleep test thru my very first neurologist at Loyola, and I was never diagnosed with any 'sleep issues'. C. Dr. Wilson became agitated and eventually rude when I as a patient tried to email or call him with my concerns about my regimine, medicines, or just other random issues I was having in between visits. And this was NOT because of me 'being rude or bothering him', per say..I am very respectful, friendly and am very passive. It was probably because Dr. Wilson simply didn't have any answers for me as time went on. Hence why he finally rudely stated to "Find another neurologist." (What professional, kind physician says that to any patient in that tone, aside Dr. House?) Keep in mind, his services were far from free - near $300 a visit if you were paying out of pocket. Aren't doctors supposed to always be 'available' and 'customer friendly' to their PAYING patients??? D. If the fact alone of my Relpax shipment being signed for by his staff, and gone missing out of his office isn't enough of a red flag for this office's overall 'wackiness', I am not sure what is. The consistent 1 to 1.5 hour appointment waits will probably turn you off first, though. Not saying there isn't ever a slight wait at doctors offices, but usually it is manageable - maybe 20 minutes to half hour at MOST. (Dr. Wilson's excuse of 'time with my patient is my primary focus' is him simply bloviating, in my opinion. If that is your true focus, stop 'over-scheduling' patients and thus dis-servicing other patients by making them wait extremely long periods, then?). Dr. Wilson simply schedules TOO many patients for one set day of hours. The more patients you squeeze in, the more $$ one makes. Simple math. Finally, I can supply ALL records of everything involving my experience at this firm, from my 4 visits to all of my tests, contents of each visit, the botched and missing Relpax fiasco, and including Dr. Wilson's EMAILS TO ME. As a paying patient, I have nothing to gain and no reason to lie while writing a review on my medical experiences. Dr. Wilson may be good and probably does indeed help many other individuals, I am just giving my exact experience - no lies, no exaggerations, no agenda, nothing to gain. I simply recommend any prospective patient at least weigh the pros against the cons about this practice before giving him your business, just as you would any other place of business. *Note: Please take one of the other reviews (from somebody in San Francisco?) with a grain of sand, as it almost seems "manufactured". The reviewer hasn't written a review since 2010, and the 6 reviews he does have seem to all be for businesses in 5 different states.
