    All the food choices!

I recently attended the Yelpies awards here. I commented to my husband and friends that it would be a great wedding reception venue! It would also be great for a work event, small convention, or a similar type of gathering. The service was phenomenal, they were quick to bring out the food, replenish it, and take away our plates when we finished. The food quality was wonderful, the steak was cooked tender, and the flavor of all the foods was much better than other event venues I've been to. The white walls and black ceiling make it customizable for any kind of event style, but a modern or industrial style would fit the place perfectly. The bathrooms were a little difficult to find since there weren't many signs up, but it wasn't something that detracted from the overall experience. One thing that's nice about having a venue at the Capitol district is that it's close to other bars and restaurants for late night or after-event hangs.

Via Farina was serving pizza that night, and I was excited to see my favorite, the Fratello, on the menu. The pizza came out quickly and was just as delicious as always. When we arrived, the place was completely full, so we were added to the waitlist. Even though there was a wait, the hostess was incredibly friendly and made the experience much better. I didn't catch her name, but she recommended several nearby spots where we could grab a drink while we waited. Our table ended up being ready sooner than expected, which was a nice surprise. The live music was fantastic and really added to the atmosphere. The bar was well organized with only a short wait, even with the crowd. The cocktails were fine, but they didn't stand out as much as the rest of the experience. Overall, this is a beautiful place for a date night, especially if you enjoy live music, great pizza, and a fun atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

Overall, I would say it's a bit pricey but the food and drink we got was all very tasty. I got the sausage pizza from via farina for $20 and it was delicious, and it was a decent size for a personal pizza. I also got the Ferris 47 and I would probably go back for that drink alone! A nice spot for an occasion, but I wish they were open more often!

Because I am a woman in my mid forties, I HAD to try one of their specials aptly named "Hello Kitty"; but make her hot! I do love a strong hazelnut flavor to my lattes and this gal didn't disappoint. Very smooth, zero irritation on the stomach, with a smidge of a caramel kick at the end. Requested oat milk out of preference - or maybe habit? - but she was wonderful. I had my eyes on a few of those cupcakes in their display case and never mind those breakfast sammies listed on their menu... next time, next time... Can we talk about their study rooms for a minute?! Where was this when I was deep in the studies?! Perfect place for a small gathering of sorts, especially in their $20/hr conference room. But those bathroom stall doors... does that green not just make you happy?! If urban coffee shops filled with art from local artists, big plush comfy couches, lived in comfy chairs, or just dig the vibe of a downtown coffee shop, try them! The desserts are SO good, and the coffee and tea varieties are awesome. Good selection of herbal teas and drinks if you're avoiding caffeine--I got an iced hibiscus and chamomile tea blend that was superlative. Super friendly staff. Really patient and kind when I realized I hadn't specified decaf for my coffee drink, and remade it immediately. Can't wait to return for open-mic night or one of their other events! It was built in 1931 in the Art Deco style and designed by LA architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood. The museum has lots of photographs and examples of materials used that would be a delight for all those interested in architecture. Downstairs was the train depot and where you can go inside and sit in the train cars. Most of the rooms appeared to be part of their permanent collection, but part of the downstairs area has rotating exhibits. The exhibit on display was "The Negro Motorist Green Book" which you may be familiar with if you watched the 2018 film "Green Book." I had a great time at the museum and would return, although check the calendar as I went when the NE SciFest going on and I prefer calmer museum visits. Still, definitely would recommend checking it out!

There are many permanent displays about Omaha history, and there are train cars you can walk through; enthusiastic docents are often there to answer any questions. There are temporary exhibits here as well, and in the summers they will have something cool that the whole family will enjoy. There are lots of programs here, many of them free with admission or membership. I do recommend getting a membership if you think you might want to come at least a couple times in a year. And you probably will want to! There is a soda fountain/snack bar area. The ice cream is great! The food is okay. It's a museum and not a lunch destination. The museum is located right next to Omaha's Old Market.
